Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

Call me paranoid but I have all my pins on surge protectors and I always unplug them when I am not home. I’d definitely suggest you take up the same!
Sure it’s a pain to plug it in every single time I want to play, but just one lightning strike makes it worthwhile!

I do the same thing. We had a lightning strike in an old house I lived in and it smoked everything. I learned my lesson with that one.
