So the other day a storm passes through. Some lightning. Nothing unsual. All of a sudden there is this huge flash and boom just outside my bedroom window. I thought someone threw an M-80 into my back yard. Like, the good M-80s from the late 70’s. All the power goes off instantly. Our 15,000 watt generator is dead. Turns out the lightning hit the utility pole in our backyard and blew the generator’s 15 amp fuse. It’s weird that there are taller trees that the lightning missed to hit the pole. The strike is about 30 feet from our breaker box. I immediately thought about the pins. “Oh, no.” A light switch now trips a circuit breaker right when it’s turned on. Out TV picture was out. I guess I was luck from a pin point of view because they all work except STTNG.
