Should clean up nicely!!

This game was advertised as having "the new coin box with locking cover and twin chutes for 10 cents, and 3 for 25¢ play." Yet, all examples of this game in the IPDB listing were provided with only a single left-side coin chute along with metal dummy plates blocking the holes where a second coin chute and its coin return would be.

What does the front of your cabinet have? One coin chute? Or two? What coin denomination(s)?

Thanks,

Jay

Hi, My machine has one chute on the left, dummy plate on the right. Looks to be a five cent denomination.

Any updated pictures?

Thanks. On your stripped playfield, in the upper left corner it says the game name and underneath is a number, I think. I can't quite make it out in your pictures. Any chance you can post of focused close-up of this area so I can read all that it shows?

Looks like 16259.

It does say 16259, however I have it back together and can't get a good pic for you. It says Lightning Ball with 16259 below the name. I also have a question , maybe you can shed some light on. Every time I start a game, the score starts out with 400 thousand already displayed on the backglass and two letters already displayed as well, the L and i. Is there something not aligned correctly on the big stepper in the back box . I am not sure if this is suposed to happen or not. This is before I even launch the first ball. Thanks.

Correction, its not 400 thousand its 4 million at the end of reset.

Is the "around the world" shot possible. I have always been fascinated by this pin, never found one or played one for that matter.

#12 5 years ago

Yes it is, it's very cool when you hit it and it happens very fast.

It is a great, plays fast and is very addictive.

Interesting, 16259. Model number is 162 and this game started production in 1959. Gee, I haven't noticed them showing the year on the playfield like this.

I can't explain the 4 million but see if your 100,000 unit has fully reset the arc of its travel. You can see the unit here, in the reset position:

https://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=1442&picno=69453&zoom=1

I do know that the game can be optioned to spot up to four letters at start of game. The above picture shows a paper chart stapled to the inside left wall of the backbox (Name Unit Reset Cam Adj.) and you can see it here:

https://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=1442&picno=69455

The chart represents five screw holes on the round metal plate at the rear of the rotating unit. I see inside your backbox that your game is indeed optioned to spot 2 letters, the L and the I. The game on the IPDB is optioned to spot no letters.

This is a fun game to play.
