My arcade is in my basement. Basement is outside accessible through bulk head doors (i call them Wizard of Oz doors) and ~8 relatively steep wooden steps.

My problem: I damaged both hands pretty bad and have tendonitis in both as a result. Wearing braces. May improve but will be living with flare ups like a bad back. Oh yeah I have that too. I'd like an easier way to move the pins up and down out of basement.

Solution? It's been suggested to me to install a lift system, pulley, ramp? Many of the wooden stair have hinges so they swing up. Hoping someone out there have some creative ideas or examples of what they may have done.

    Thanks

Turn those stairs into a ramp, use a hoist outside, hook it up to the pins and up they go. Alternatively, you could sell your games to me, Rollergames misses it's old friends.

Buy or make yourself a piano skid board.

And yes, I moved pianos for 17 years and have used skids for pins too

I miss that Rollergames. May have sold it too early. Glad to see it still in your collection my friend. Avengers LE Hulk edition is up for sale.

What kind of hoist would you recommend?

How would that work with stairs? It appears to enable rolling. Unless I'm missing something. I'm ignorant on this stuff.

Put a scissor lift in there.

You need the extenders for rough stairs.

Hey Billy just now seen your post. You need to Finally come over and see the new basement/arcade. As luck would have it I made/installed a lift similar to what I think you would need. Cost about $150 and bring pins up and down with a button push. Easy piesy! After taking a game out of your basement I Agree you need a safer solution. Reach out I'm sure I could help you out any time. We are playing this Wednesday at my house if you want to stop by.

Anytime as always. You and mama can visit anytime and I am sure we can design something simple and safe for your odd stair problem.
