Quoted from Beemus:Ordered to protectors on a Saturday afternoon and they arrived Wednesday. Installed Frontier today and it was a smooth operation.
Had to remove:
- slingshots and center target plastic. I have homemade plastic protectors, maybe not necessary.
- pop bumper caps
- bracket over shooter lane
- top right plastic/top right gate
- spinner and gate
- in lane/out lane wire ball guides
- flipper bats
Prep:
Naptha naptha naptha to remove wax.
Trimmed:
- tiny notch next to left ball guide next to in lane drop targets.
- Top three rollover switches. One wasn’t fully retracting every time.
Result:
Played a game once installed and it played much slower. I assume there is a slight residue from the protective film. I wiped it down with novus one and the game played great! Much faster.
There is a slight ball jump as it meets protector in the shooter lane but it launches fine with a good pull. If it bugs me enough I may cut back the shooter protector so that it starts above the shooter groove. Leaving it as is for now.
I am extremely happy with the end result and will report back once I install skateball. Thanks for a great product!
Nice! I just installed a hard top on my Frontier...I considered the protector, but I am happy with the hard top. I am fairly new to owning a Frontier, and I have to say it is the hardest pinball game I have played. I can beat my Centaur 1 out of 4 or 5 plays, my 8BD 1 out of 10, but Frontier?!? man that is a hard game! At least mine is anyway. If you miss a shot, you're dead. I have it on 3 ball, replay at 440,000. A drain monster, but I love it!
