I've got a Williams Gulfstream that has an auto-clearcoat... it's held up well, but I just can't live with the unevenness around the tic/tac/toe board. The problem is that I didn't do a good job levelling the inserts prior to it being shot by my auto-body guy. I've got some experience with levelling inserts/prepping dried varathane/polycrylic... however I'm not sure those same procedures would work on an auto-cleared playfield.

How do you guys feel about levelling inserts with poly, sanding, let dry, then shooting another top coat of auto-clear? Would that hold up? Or am I kinda hosed?

Any difference between prepping topcoat of autoclear vs varathane?... I assume the auto-clear takes some more aggressive methods.
