I was reading an article (Coin-Op Trends {page 50}) in the new issue of Playmeter magazine (January 2017). The article was talking about Casino's changing the way they conduct business to address the fact that the Baby Boomer generation (who likes to gamble) is no longer the largest generation as the Millennials (who don't gamble as much) has become the largest generation.

In the article they mentioned that the MGM grand in Las Vegas replaced it's Rainforest Cafe with the Level Up arcade. My questions are has anyone been in the 12,000 foot arcade and if so do they have any Pinball Machines in it? How was the arcade set up? Is the arcade affiliated with the Level Up arcade in Oregon? Is it a barcade?

As of last week, there are no pinball machines. There are only about a dozen "arcade" games. No shooters or drivers. All "arcade" games operate on dollar bills only. And yes, everybody knows how drawn to Sigma Derby the millennials can be. So that alone should really get the cash... er, quarters pouring in. /sarcasm You can, however, play hopscotch, twister, and jenga for free.

The group setting this up appears to have ignored all of the suggestions presented by the industry experts that they consulted. It's sad & pathetic.

They didn't actually "take out" the Rainforest Café. The restaurant relocated itself to Planet Hollywood at the corner of LVB & Harmon, leaving a giant empty hole on the casino floor.

When I'm in Vegas I need to play Sigma Derby. Come on 200-1

It's surprising that the MGM arcade would be so much worse then the New York, New York. Aren't they both MGM properties.

That's just it, it's not an arcade. It's just an attempt at millennial bait.

There's also a 40 player gaming station with live dealers serving up Black Jack, Roulette, & Baccarat. It wasn't up & running yet when I walked through last week.

I checked out their website. Yeah, it's not an arcade. It's more of a bar lounge.

My only questions are, do they have the trigger warnings clearly posted before you walk in and is there a safe space available if needed once you are in?

OK I am out of the loop and not sure what this is referencing.

Special snowflake millennials need trigger warnings so that things don't hurt their fragile feelings. They also need safe spaces where they can go and color and be safe from scary things like "microaggressions" and "internalized misogyny"

Really you are from California and you don't know about this stuff? You deserve a cold brew on me for that good sir!!

I wish I didn't know what you were talking about. I walked past this place in SF recently called KitTea Cafe where you get to cuddle with kitties while you sip your tea. It was filled with Millenials. I was only in the neigborhood for a great tiki bar, which was filled with Baby Boomers. I really have to shake my head sometimes at the social decay. To all the Boomers out there, your generation was way, WAY cooler.
