The IFPA and Namco’s Level 257 are pleased to announce the start of a new monthly pinball ‘Super League’ at the Schaumburg Level 257 location in Woodfield Mall.

Level 257 will be offering special “pinball game cards” which will allow IFPA players the ability to play the pinball machines on a per credit basis rather than having to purchase time cards to participate. These cards will be available for purchase at the front desk for $20, with each game available at $.75 per play starting January 5th and going forward.

Immediately following the kickoff party tournament, the LEVEL 257 MONTHLY PINBALL SUPER LEAGUE will officially begin. Qualifying will be available all month during business hours, with the finals of each month happening on the first Tuesday at 7pm (last qualifying game starts at 6:30pm the night of Finals).

Here is how it will work:

STEP 1 – Fill out a registration form at the front desk and pay the $5 entry fee to join

STEP 2 – Play anytime! Take pictures of your best scores and email to [email protected]! All photos must include a picture of the player and their score on the display.

STEP 3 – Follow along the LIVE standings at: http://www.neverdrains.com/level257

STEP 4 – FINALS NIGHT! First Tuesday of every month at 7pm! Win cash and prizes! All participants from the month are invited to finals. The top 4 spots will play the “A” finals, next 4 in the “B” finals, next 4 in the “C” finals, etc. The winner of every division will win $10, with the remaining entry fees going to the top 4 finishers (40/30/20/10%). Should there be more than 40 players for the month the “A” division will feature the top 8 finalists instead of the top 4. Finals format will be PAPA style 3-game rounds.

Quick bump ...would love to get as much support for the kickoff party as we can just to get things off to a positive start with the Level 257 management, so please stop by if you're in the area to play and/or have a drink.

    #3 8 years ago

Good luck with this! I'm not in the area so obviously I can't participate, but hopefully this will get great support from the locals.

Anyone know the list of games currently at 257?

Plus a couple of cocktail pins with the classic vids.

Details for the kickoff party tournament:
Entry fee will be $5 plus the cost of games. Tournament format will be best game qualifying (100-90-85-84 scoring), with one attempt allowed on each machine. The top 4 players will advance to the finals to play a 3-game PAPA style final (40/30/20/10% payout).

$5 per try or $5 per month max 1 try?

    #8 8 years ago

Kickoff night will be like Gameworks style. $5 entry to play each game once. No second attempts even for another $5.

Super League will be a $5 entry which will get you unlimited attempts throughout the month. The only additional cost will be paying the $.75 per game to Level 257.

Awesome. Interested to see how this plays out. Could be an option for us pinball hillbillies in the NKY/Cincy area.

    #10 8 years ago

It helps the location and helps those that don't travel get a chance at the big Wppt points at the same time. Will be interesting to see how many players stick it out for multiple months.

Who will be the first to create one in Michigan at the pinball playing Wppr hotspots? Fremont or Grand Rapids? The race is on.

    #11 8 years ago

Thanks, Mark - forgot about the pinball map resource. For anyone else curious, here's the list as of today. As Joe mentioned, they may be adding some Sterns.

    The Addams Family (Bally, 1992)
    Baby Pac-Man (Bally, 1982)
    Black Knight (Williams, 1980)
    Gorgar (Williams, 1979)
    Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man (Bally, 1982)
    Twilight Zone (Bally, 1993)

    #12 8 years ago

Baby Pacman used for league? Awesome! Love seeing Mr Mrs Pacman on the list too.

    #13 8 years ago

We won't be using Baby Pacman for league play (or Night Moves which they also have).

The other 5 listed is what we're working with currently. They are looking to expand to 8 total, mixing in a couple of new Stern's and another classic. Specifically Eight Ball Deluxe and/or Flash if anyone has one available looking to sell.

I guarantee Freemont, MI will never have a super league. Can't guarantee Fremont, MI won't have one at some point though.

Are those pinball play cards available to use during normal operating hours? I really want to play games there but have passed since they run that timed card system.

    #16 8 years ago

Yes. You don't have to play in the league to have access to the pinball cards.

Anyone can purchase a "Pin Card" at anytime. Just ask when you're there.

The pins will be the only games there on 'time or credit' play during all operating hours.

    #17 8 years ago

Here is a video of what they have.

Just found out about this tournament. Don't think I'll make it down there from Wisconsin this weekend. But count on me participating next month.

    #23 8 years ago

    Monthly finals bump!

So can folks start qualifying for February immediately after finals tonight?

    You bet!

My nights out are at a premium so depending on how quickly we finish up I might just do that

    #25 8 years ago

Need to get there soon (only about 10 min or less drive) and bump my scores up.

    #26 8 years ago

First month winners. I'll try to use this thread to update things for those not on Facebook.

Tech of the year Kevin Paxson helps me with a selfie on Gorgar .... By taking a picture of me with the HSTD. While I appreciate the attempted assist I haven't spent nearly enough money on Gorgar yet to be truly satisfied.

Stick to fixing the pins Kevin!
