June 28 2019
Toyota Arena, Ontario California.
Site of the old Ontario speedway, and CalJam 74.

Necromancer
Heading out to the Highway
The Sentinel
Spectre
Take These Chains
Judas is Rising/ Electric Eye was played in L.A.
Out in the Cold
Traitors Gate
Star breaker
Steeler
Halls of Valhalla
Tyrant
No Surrender
Hot Rocking
Victim of Changes
All Guns Blazing

Hell bent for Leather
Breaking the Law
Living After Midnight/Painkiller was played in L.A.

Amazing set list, also saw this same show the night before at Microsoft Theater, a two day Priest marathon.
Also Uriah Heep opened, which was great.

All Guns Blazing!

I was lucky to see this tour in 2008. Glad I got to see Dio front Sabbath.

It was outdoors and started to get windy during Priest's set with a storm coming in. During "Between the Hammer and the Anvil" the wind and thunderclouds just totally added to the atmosphere especially with the opening lyrics.

I’m just pleased Priest changed it up heaps on the Firepower tour. All down to Faulkner evidently.

Here’s the Auckland show - heaps of old classics.

Couldn’t believe they cranked Delivering the Goods first up - and Desert Plains too.

Delivering the Goods
Running Wild
Sinner
The Ripper
Lightning Strike
Desert Plains
No Surrender
Turbo Lover
The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)
Night Comes Down
Guardians
Rising From Ruins
Freewheel Burning
You've Got Another Thing Comin'
Hell Bent for Leather
Painkiller

Encore:
The Hellion
Electric Eye
Metal Gods
Breaking the Law
Living After Midnight

Oh - Defenders of the Faith is the #1 for me.

Although I would listen to Stained Class most often these days. And some live bootlegs I have from around that era. Binks was amazing.

I assume you guys are familiar with 2sich from YouTube?

#2656 2 years ago

^^ I had the same guitar as in that third video …

Schecter Jeff Loomis 7 String with active EMGs.

Best sounding and playing guitar I’ve ever owned. And I’ve had a lot of guitars …

A new band for all those fools that think Hard Rock/Metal is dead.
Green Lung, Black Harvest, the sophomore album from Green Lung, stunning guitar work.
Highly recommended, blistering classic Heavy Metal with Hammond Organ! John Lord style.

Previously I would have said death metal and technical death metal were 'too much' for me, but I really do love this Archspire release:

Thanks for the Green Lung suggestion. Really like what I am hearing so far. Kind of reminds me of Orchid, who of course, are pretty much the rebirth of old Sabbath:

I already promoted that album, great minds think alike

Watch myself and a bunch of other weirdos as we take on the eternal battle: Machine Head Vs. Vol 4!

The latest on the Rock Fantasy files!!!

I am not very well versed in black metal, the keys always turned me off. But the last 10 years or so I've been liking it more. Always loved Darkthrone, Satryricon, and Mayhem but I've never heard any of these bands.
Thanks for the heads up!

You do realize they are debating Deep Purple's album Machine Head, vrs Vol 4.
It's a 1972 album released debate.
Not the band Machine Head?

All 3 classic but Satyricon personally is by far my favorite of those (one of my all time favorites). Watched them live, Immortal, Emperor too about 20 plus years ago. There is SO MUCH black metal and death. Even in BM so many flavors. Those are just classic 90s era Norway bands where is started.

Satryricon is also my favorite. Now Diabolical is a freakin perfect album that I can't get enough of even after years of listening. Have his debut on vinyl which is also an ice cold killer

Any fans of Behemoth? They my current favorites on the heavy side of the spectrum, love those guys.

#2693 2 years ago

I just realized I saw the very last RUSH show, and the very last Slayer show.....

Both at the LA Forum.....
I didn't really believe Slayer would actually hang up the Guitars for good.....
You know.... Last tour.... sell more tickets scam....
But it's starting to look like they are serious...

Bummer.

#2694 2 years ago

I listen to this album a lot.

Wow...lucky.
I did see the "last" Slayer show in IN, like you I was skeptical. Don't think they were fuckin around, but eventually it'll happen.
At the Indiana show we were delayed by 2 5 hours cause lightning and rain and stuck in the parking lot. Couldn't even get in line. It was fuckin crazy.
Cannibal Corpse didn't get to play
For some reason I brought a case of high abv brews and by the time the show started I was fuckin schmammered....
I remember Angel of Death at the encore though
GODDAMNIT
12 beers in 2 hours I WAS FUCKIN EXCITED OK
