Right on Dave! I saw them about 10 years ago. Fun show. Thanks Baiter, great recommendation.

Talked to my bro yesterday and somehow I missed D.R.I roll thru town last week. Made me think, What's the longest span between seeing bands? I saw Maiden in 1990 and next time was in 2014. So 24 years. And IF I see Metallica this summer it will be 26 years since seeing the Justice tour.

Only band that has made me puke at a show because the endless smell of rotting flesh. Even the local road crews complain that their gear is covered in gore and filth and won't touch it.

Azagtoth supposedly never listened to Sabbath. Uh really?

Quoted from Gryszzz:Pretty cool to log on and see this thread still on fire today. Ice-T on Liquid Metal Takeover today and said his favorite death metal track was I CUM BLOOD. Fucking A right Ice, fucking A right.

Ice REALLY knows his metal. He can name and describe Slayer songs at the drop of a hat, down to crazy details. He loved Sabbath, he loves Megadeth - the new Body Count album is absolutely awesome old school Heavy Metal. His lyrics are fantastic too. The guitar sound is off the chain, Ernie C is a monster at tone, which is why Forbidden is totally unexplainable.

Waited longer for new Carcass than the 13 year wait for GnR. Both were good, but Surgical Steel is just CRAZY GOOD. Saw em last year in Louisville with Crowbar, face still melted off.

Quoted from rotordave:

Not really metal ... but I went to see Nashville Pussy last night in a tiny club in Auckland.
Their music is like Bon Scott era AC/DC mixed with southern rock like lynyrd skynyrd. Girl bass player and guitarist. Guitarist played this old beaten SG with only one pickup and one volume knob.
They rocked hard. Good night out.
Couldn't get much closer to the stage ...

I would love to see Nashville pissy some day , I haven't listened to a lot of their music , but I recall enjoying what I had .

Upping yer cardio for a show?
That's TRVE as fuck. Kreator should be opening for them though. The US tour was with Obituary, which also should've been the headliner. Have a great show Kiwis.

I'll be there:

Yeah, that's the band I want to watch.... Don't care much about the other two...

BTW, who said there's no life at Maiden after Powerslave??? Listening right now to the 7th Son and it's absolutely fucking awesome!!!!!

Me and I stand by that, Carcass should be great though, I used to like Lamb of God but that's guys vocals get on nerves real quick. My favorite song by them.....

#1223 6 years ago

The main riff on Lamb of God's Redneck is killer. That riff welds itself into my brain for a week every time I listen to that song.

#1224 6 years ago

These cats played Indy like 3 times last year. Luckily I saw em twice. Hard touring hard riffing Nola nastiness.

Still listening to this - the EP isn't half bad either. On par with Heartwork, IMO.

The new HELLYEAH album is pretty rocking. Vinnie Paul is the drummer, if you don't know ...

I just got the new Mastodon album, only had a couple of listens but it seems pretty good.

This week I received the 180g Vinyl re-issue of 3 Holy Moses albuns. Those germans kick some serious butt!

Talking of vinyl, I'm going to sell my vinyl collection. Hasn't been listened to in 10-20 years, doubt I'll be listening to it again.

Mostly NZ pressings of classic 80s stuff from AC/DC, maiden, priest, Saxon etc.

NZ pressings bring good dough on EBAY. If you want it before I EBAY it, let me know.

Here's my Priest collection.

Nah ... I have most of the records as CDs and MP3 as well. So the records just don't get used.

Sorry, but that's horrible! The guitar riff sounds like it's on a kids keyboard! Unless it changes after the 2min mark..cause that's all I could handle! Haha..dunno what peeps like about amon amoth! That drumming wasn't that fast or technical to be profiling him. Surely they must have heavier songs then that!

To be fair, the sound mix was ghastly. Maybe they pulled a feed from the monitor mix.

You can't even hear the double bass drum work ... on a drumming video! WTF!
