poor power grid...
was there ever a state championships of game rooms? we would have a registration period of a week, then we'd vote on our favorite from each state. it would be pretty cool, to see where we rank on a state level to see how far we need to go.
i'm officially proposing this. it would go much smoother with some help from pinside, i believe. something on the main page, at least a stickie on the forums.
Quoted from amkoepfer:
It would be interesting, but what do you rank it on? Decor, use of space, lighting, overall coolness? Or quality of games and amount?
up to the voter. basically like political elections: anything goes. i guess we could suggest recommendations, but who's going to listen to those.
a mame cabinet can play all the games, and only takes up room for one.
not as pretty, however.
going to a local coin-op warehouse today. i'm excited. hoping to find something cool for the basement. get some variety, like you guys have been saying.
i'd like a shooter, but it seems like it's buck hunter or bust for huo? i'd want something that is random enough for me to want to play it once or twice a week. i feel like the "dungeon crawler" style shooters can be memorized. i'd eventually know where all the guys are jumping out from.
i searched the thread and it seems like that's what i'm hearing, right?
semi-tangent: it's like those people who can't park their car in their garage cause they got so much crap in there. i live in a new neighborhood, houses are only a year or two old; some built this year. there are people who just moved in with cars in their driveways already! clean up and throw some of your junk out! damn hoarders. or if you need a woodworking shop, use your f'n basement.
tangent: to make things worse, then you have people backing into their driveways blocking traffic (me). i wanna kill em. i wanna kill em!
sorry about that. i don't know what got into me.
i thought the same thing. trash them and get some high tops.
they were probably free. someone was throwing out a waiting room.
80% capacity is the recommended limit for any kind of power system, so i wouldn't go past 16a on a 20a circuit.
Quoted from jeffk:
In the process of moving to a new house. Here is the main pinball area, carpeted space is 12 x 27.5 feet. The 13 pins I have will fit along the walls but I am trying to find the most efficient layout for expansion. Any suggestions?
4 along each short wall. 8 in the middle, running the same way, back to back. 16 games.
Quoted from Bendit:
It also has upgraded sound because I retired the old WPC-95 A/V board in it, and installed a brand new Pinsound board (coupled with a new DMD089 board).
pinsound plus a legacy dmd board can replace the av board? that's good to know. i was worried about my boards quitting on me at some point.
anybody know a site that sells sports stadium wall murals? ones that cover the entire wall.
"one hundred and eighty!" sorry, been watching a lot of premier league on bbc america.
sounds like you have enough stuff for a party, brah. spoil yourself a little and do the theater.
Quoted from blue95:
I recently moved to a new house, so now I have a new bigger games room. Even had room to add Kings Of Steel to the line-up and tonight added a piece of local pinball memorabilia to the wall [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
i dig it.
