That's pretty awesome. Is it some kind of warehouse? I can't imagine a house having that kind of space.

When I look at this thread, I'm jealous of all the people who have basements and similar spaces. Maybe my next house will have that kind of large, open space for a fun room.

    Quoted from RetroGamerJP:

Sure thing, I'll shoot you a PM...

I'm also into slot machines. Your pictures show the mechanical machines very well but it appears that you also have a row of Bally EMs? Do you have any photos showing them?

Mine aren't as uniform as yours as I have a variety of cabinet styles so some are short and some are tall. Bally made a lot of different models in the short time they produced them.

    Quoted from Dewman:

I completely and unreservedly support your right to free speech. I don't agree with your analysis but we can still be friends. Now perhaps we can get back to game room pictures

I think it's a nice space with a great collection. I had a different perspective on the photo with the blue line flag. When I saw it, I thought "why does a guy from Reno have a Chinese slot machine, can't he find a real slot machine in Reno"?

    #16216 3 years ago
    Quoted from Dewman:

Haha that's a good observation. The Japanese "skill stop" slot was part of a trade.

Time for an upgrade! Slot machines are much cheaper than pins and no skill is required!

Thank you so much to Punkin! My son checked the mail today and said " what did we get from AUSTRALIA?!?!"
    [quoted image]

At 3.5%, the ale isn't that wild! Guess you just make up for that by drinking more.

    #17070 3 years ago
    Quoted from Micky:

It's Mild not Wild. It is a mid strength beer.

Now I see it; must be an Australian thing. Still, just drink more!

i feel like the bar / game room is really coming along....finding it hard to leave

That looks great. It looks like it would be a very comfortable place to relax, have a drink, play some pinball, and socialize. You have interesting finishes on the walls, ceilings, etc; is it a historic home?

Except the fake slot machines; those need to be upgraded to real slot machines.

    Quoted from ChipScott:

Thanks!!! Yes, it's a great place to relax! Me and the family as well as our friends enjoy coming down here regularly, and we find it hard to leave!
I agree, I would love to ultimately get some real slots up in there. I do have some vintage gas station condom machines coming that I'm going to put in that bathroom, and that'll add a little extra dimension to the bathroom and maybe take away from the fact that those slot machines, while they do take money, have working levers and spin, make noise and award jackpots, are nowhere near the real deal, hahaha...always fun and interesting to have a home bar bathroom where you can lose your money!

Vintage condom machines would be a great decoration. You might pair them with a cologne machine since they seem to go well together.

heh your idea of a grail slot and mine are way different
I already have my favourite slot machine (1948 Mills High top) but these are the only other slot machines I'd seriously consider:

I'd take any of them but the Bally Bingo Continental would fit in best with my other Bally EM slots.

Added a Neo Geo (restoring it currently) and a Legends multicade cab this week!

How do you like that Ms Pac-Man/Galaga game? I've been thinking of adding an arcade game and that seems like it would be a great first arcade. Seems like having two popular games and a 25 inch monitor would make it popular at parties.

    Quoted from BrianJ1337:

Galaga has been my dream machine forever. I couldn’t find any good Galaga stand-alone for a good price which I still want but couldn’t pass this one up it’s in amazing shape and turns out my kids love the Mrs Pac-Man more, so it’s a win/win. This one it barely got played from the previous owner who bought it pretty new. There’s a bunch of these out there too for decent prices I see them pop up quite often.

I'll have to keep my eye open for one either in an upright or a cocktail.

    Quoted from ramegoom:

Hosted a friendly "Slot Competition" game with the neighborhood. Six people per set, 8 slot machines to choose from. Several 10 minute sets, two pounds of tokens per ten-buck buy-in, and in the end, 1st, 2nd. and 3rd place winners split the kitty.
I have a variety of different machines there so you won't get bored. Then there are the bar-flies...
70 people piled into the game room. Nice crowd, so we do this a few times throughout the year.

My game room is primarily Bally EM slots. I like to have people over to play them but never thought of running a slot competition instead of just giving them rolls of coins. That would give people an incentive to play them more which would be great; the more use the better.

Every time I see a video of your game room, I try to identify your machines but although I can see some EMs and some digital, I can't specifically identify them because you pan too fast.

The word dolls sure is a sore point in the united states of North America, i know that now.

Where is "the united states of North America"? I'm not great with geography but that country eludes me.

    Great thread
I am sure it's been said but where you guys buy slot machines ? I would luv to get one for the gameroom. Thx

What kind of slot machine are you looking for? A mechanical, electromechanical, or digital? Probably the cheapest and most reliable would be an IGT S2000 which is a digital machine that has been a staple of casinos for decades although it is slowly being phased out. You can find them on CL and FB marketplace from private sellers for under $1K. There are also a couple dealers in OH that might be worth a drive if you can't find anything local.

I have a handful of Bally electromechanical machines that are mechanically similar to pinballs from the EM era. These can be picked up very cheap but usually require work to get them running correctly.

Got the sliding barn door hung today and moved in a broken Space Mission to work on.

What are the "roller skates" that your pins are on and where did you get them? They look like they would be great for any pin on a hard surface.

That's a pretty impressive collection. I can't help but notice that only one guest was playing the EM games; do guests play them much or do they gravitate to the more modern pins?
