    Quoted from mikecav:

See above for where I started... this project was moved up in priority due to the pandemic and me working from home. My arcade/office space is almost done, just need to decorate the walls (and add some more pins)...
The contractors did most of the work, but I finished the floors, built the shelves, did some of the metal work, finished the stairs, and built the hockey stick tops... I considered trying to black out the ceiling myself, but decided against and thank goodness I did after I saw the effort that went into that![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Question for those with UV under-cabinet lighting: did you use UV kits designed for pinball? Do they plug into each machine?Did you just get led strips and have them all run on the same power? I'm finishing up construction on my pin room and am planning for some black light carpet. I'm trying to understand the easiest or best way to do this.

Here's my work in progress - gotta paint over the wall stripes with day-glo now that I got the blacklights setup. Open slot waiting for CCR.

I've got the same space-carpet and the pics don't do it justice. It looks amazing in person.

    Quoted from swf127:

Ok, so I’m coming around on the under cabinet lighting effects. Those look nice. Just generic led strips?

I used led UV strip lights. if you want different colors, regular led strips will do great. I lined the edge of the underside of each machine, about an inch from the edge. If you want a different color under each machine, I'd think you'd need short individual strips for each machine. I bought 20 ft strips and it perfectly covered 2 machines. Run from the back left corner, to the front left, to the front right, to the back right corner, and then run it over to the back left of the next machine.

The black light messes with the camera so it's impossible to show what it looks like IRL, it's not so blue in person.

    Quoted from cookpins:

Where’d you get the rug from?! Usually see full carpet installs like that which look awesome, but I’ve just been wanting a rug to go on my vinyl wood floors.

I think I got it from Wayfair, but it looks like webstaurant store has it as well. It looks great in person. And yeah I also have vinyl plank flooring

    Quoted from DanMarino:

Question for you guys that have black, open, ceilings and exposed joists and ductwork in your basement game rooms. How did you paint that stuff black?

Sherwin Williams. Not sure every store does this, but they rented me a sprayer for free when I bought paint. I used dryfall paint (even though my ceilings aren't quite high enough to take advantage of the "dry fall"), it adheres very well and finished very flat. I signed up for a contractor account and it made my paint ultra cheap, highly recommend looking into that. I mean it took dryfall paint down like 70% in price or something absurd. The sprayer made very quick work of the process. Two notes: 1) seal off every crevice in your unfinished area, the overspray will get EVERYWHERE. 2) have a 2nd pair of hands to wipe off your safety glasses every few minutes. 3)rd bonus tip, if you're wanting a little flair, cover some of your ductwork or light fixtures with plastic so some silver remains in the ceiling
