Dude, where did you get the Homer Simpson "To Alcohol" neon sign?!! That looks badass!

You can get these LED strips from Zitrades off Amazon.com. They run off a 12VDC power supply. About 32 bucks I believe for a 16.4ft section, has 3M double sided tape. Looks pretty badass at a small cost! They even have sound activated modules that you can interface with systems to pulse to the beat.

Dude, the snack bar is the freaking best! That really adds to the idea of bringing the movie theater to the home!

Thanks, man . The DeLorean got an engine upgrade with a turbo-charged VR6 from VW. Now, acceleration is something like this:
    » YouTube video
Needless to say, it'll hit 88 mph now .

Its cool to hear the turbo spin town once you left off the throttle, reminds me of the temporal displacement sound before it travels through time.

Okay ill share my setup. Its small and humble, but its fuctional.

P.S. I hate the Cowboys , but the game was on when I snapped the picture. Behind me is a nice two seat black leather sectional with center console cup holders and USB ports for charging phones/PS4 controllers. I'll get more pics soon.

The homebrew kegerator will have a 10% Imperial Stout with french vanilla coffee beans, and the 2nd tap is a 9.5% Belgian Tripel. You can see the carboys next to Embryon. Beer, football, pinball, video games, I'm set!

You have all of the "essentials." Pinball, CHECK. Tv, CHECK, Mini Fridge, CHECK. Beer brewing equipment and keg dispenser, CHECK. Guitar, CHECK. Xbox, CHECK. I'd hang out in there allll dayyyyy

Thank you! As the sign says on the back wall, its my Man Cave!

The beer fridge is sweet. Great for the bottled/canned beers. The LEDs are RGB too, I can switch them to whichever color I want. I am in a band so the cave is also storage for the speakers. I've hooked up the subs to watch movies before, and I got a line out converter to run Embryon through the subs! Great for when noone cares how loud the audio is! I just put in the PS4 and took the Xbox out out. Was time for an upgrade!

    Cheers!

Just moved into a new house with a massive basement. Finished building a custom 12ft bar made out of pine and pallet board planks. Scored all the lumber and bar stools for $500! Embryon is still going strong! Will be getting a Bally X's and O's soon from a my friend to keep in the basement when the guys and gals come over to hang. Plenty of room for wine and beer storage, and dispensary equipment. kegerator photo is a bit old, but got a Chocolate Imperial Stout on tap, Hard cider at 5.8%, and more of the Bourbon barrel porter, but one batch is juiced up at 12% versus the session 8% version you see in the pic. The new brew kettle is 30 gallons big.

Got a bunch of plans for LED lighting, liquor shelving, a 4 tap jockey box with a Homer Simpson logo theme on it, and an arduino powered custom liquor dispenser in a black pipe style tap. It will be similar to the 'Sidebar Beverage" setup, but at like a fraction of the cost once I get the parts together. I got an example of the pipe setup minus the bottle on top.

    All exciting stuff!

    Quoted from Nokoro:

I'm a big fan of Willet bourbon. I didn't realize there was an associated beer.

Its a home brew beer actually. Its a bourbon barrel porter with vanilla beans, oak chips, and a small amount of french vanilla coffee grounds. Should be kicking around 12% for one batch, and another at 8% for more drinkability.

    Quoted from ToucanF16:

The fifth photo is intriguing. Where can I get one?

Its called "SideBar Beverage." I saw it on amazon. Its like $400 new. Thats steep. For about 100 bucks in parts and some creativity i can get the same setup.

Best friend gave me a Bally X's and O's to add to the collection! Its in decent shape and plays great! Can use a flipper rebuild, and need to get a new upper right plastic for the PF. Not sure if CPR planning to do the plastics.

LED beer sign over the kegerator is from the fiance! Whoo!!

Here is one of my secret entrances. It takes a special telephone number to unlock the 600lb pulling force magnet. This was taken almost a year old. The ante room is a little more decorated now. I just haven't had time to reshoot the video.
    Happy Father's Day!

Now THAT is some impressive sh^&t! You should do a build video of the mechanics and how you integrated the key pad into the phone to unlock the magnet.

    Hey All,

Well this year has certainly been one for the record books, COVID and all. Anyways, wife and I have finished up the brewery/arcade/???? (surprise) and the basement! By that I mean partially finished the walls properly insulated, and added a slew of new feature points. The two pins are nestled perfectly in their own space.

I'll have more pictures soon. The only remaining elements I need to put up are more housekeeping things, such as some themed area rugs and some heavy room dividing curtains to separate the brewery/storage space from the entertainment space. It will also help with the heat in the winter.

For now, a video demo of the new automatic liquor dispenser and sink I built. Everything is based on 12 volts. The sink has a 5 gallon supply tank and 5 gal grey water tank. Perfect for cleaning glasses.

So the entertainment space is 90% done! Still a few cosmetic things here and there to purchase, but the bulk of it is complete. Its a combination arcade/speakeasy/diner/nano brewery complete with pretty much every amenity. Everything you see I built myself. The diner section though...that is all my wife's idea. Its her contribution to the space, and now that my closest friends have seen it and given me the "H#%Y S@#T" reaction, I think we have done well. The diner booths we got for free from a local place remodeling, and we picked the best out of the bunch without any rips in the vinyl to take. If anyone questions why my wife and I no longer go out and risk COVID, welp this is why!

I'm also a 12 year now home brewer, much of the detail I have already posted on my thread on the home brew talk forums. Feel free to check out the rest of the pictures there. I've included a few here to attract eyes hopefully. FYI that is a 16 tap keezer with a CO2 and Beergas nitro setup. If you want to see the build its on my youtube channel!

    Quoted from yaksplat:

What's the loud noise everytime you turn any water on?

That is the 12 volt diaphragm pump. I did not plumb any supply water from the house, too expensive and not really needed for occasional use. The sink uses a 5 gal supply tank and has a 5 gal grey water tank.

I got a bead on a mini dishwasher where I'll be using two 7 gal tanks to run that, washes all the glassware after use. Only uses 2.6gal per cycle.

    Quoted from d0n:

I applaud your creativity and your need to rinse glasses! LOL

Its an important concept for a bar/brewery if you think about it. If a glass is not "beer clean" then you get foamy beer and off flavors too. Rinsing your glass and cleaning it properly prevents something inside the glass called nucleation sites where the CO2 in the beer can come out of solution resulting in foam. It also helps with 16 (well technically 18 if you include the two tap keezer) taps going where you rinse your glass between tastings. I have some crazy friends who mix my chocolate porter with an amber ale to make black and tans, but those are the exceptions. I'm the crazy dude who takes a nitro imperial stout at 10.4% and adds a shot of bourbon whiskey to it from the liquor dispenser. Did I mention the leather couch is also a futon?

    Quoted from Pinkitten:

Love the booths! I would love to add 2 of those to my basement. If I had room! I bet you pour a mean pint.

I gotta say my wife really had a gold idea to have restaurant booths downstairs. not only aesthetically pleasing, but utilitarian to add more seating to the entertainment space.

    Quoted from Pinkitten:

Love the booths! I would love to add 2 of those to my basement. If I had room! I bet you pour a mean pint.

I have a home made Nitro Imperial Chocolate Stout that was aged in oak chips coming in at 10.4% ABV. Half a pint will kick you in the face guaranteed!

COVID unfortunately has negated any major parties and get togethers this year. Normally all 16 taps (18 if you count my kegerator where I have my special brews behind the bar) are open with a ton of variety for everyone. You can usually tell which ones are the most popular by looking at how much condensation is on the tap. My home made Peanut Butter Porter made with Reeses Pieces (yes!!) was an unexpected runaway hit. Certain beers like porters/stouts/ciders age very well, others like NEIPAs, Hefeweizens, etc don't last very long in the keg.

If only I could give my beer away faster....

Yup, Are you the first person on this thread to have your own brewery near the game room? Damn!!
My first words out of my mouth, "Holy Sh*t". Jealous.
Are those two 5 gallon brew kettles? How are they temperature controlled? Create one yourself or bought a kit?

I posted my game room/diner/movie theater/bar/ electric brewery a few weeks back. Course it doesn't really compare with the Blichman setup. I did just get my stainless sink that ill be installing at some point. I see he is below grade and has a sink pump. Exactly what I will be using too!

Check out homebrewtalks.com, lots of great info there if you want to build a basement brewery.

Whoa, you made your basement a diner?!?
That’s awesome!! Love the vibes from that.
I’m looking at buying my first house now. Viewing of my two top choices on Sunday!! Hopefully they aren’t crap lol. Looking for a fixer-upper type cuz I’m gonna be ripping it apart and remodeling anyway, haha!
Told my boyfriend that we figure out the pinball rooms first, THEN everything else. Slowly, he’s getting into it; at first he thought pinball was confusing and difficult. Found out he was intimidated by my “skill” (every non-Pinhead always seems to think we’re amazing players when we complete basic shots lol!)
I’m using a lot of these gameroom photos for idea how to turn the entire house into a badass man cave.

    [quoted image]

Thank you! Diner idea was all my wife's, not mine for the record lol

Latest upgrade to the bar/arcade/brewery/diner/movie theater space.

Really wanted the soft pretzel machine, so bought the parts to convert it from the 4 tier 18" platter rack to the pretzel fork. Scored the machine stupid cheap from a food truck that went belly up. Had to buy a new glass pane, new plastic legs, and fix a broken wire. Tried cleaning it upbbest I could, but it smells like pizza every time you turn it on with the water tanks full. I made some cheap Pretzel banners for it to stick with magnets over the pizza signs when using it for that. Cheap and makes me happy I have both.

Ironically the diner booths are from a local pizza place that remodeled this year

What do you mean exactly? Cleanup? Sleeping off fhe hangover? Lol. Futon couch right around the corner, and snack bar/diner for food to sober up haha. Quoted from Spyderturbo007:

Sorry. I meant how do you keep 16 barrels and their line sets cold?

Keezer as you know is a chest freezer with a temp controller on it keeping it between 38-41F. The lines and barrels stay cold with a 3 inch bilge fan moving the cold air inside from bottom to top. The 2x10 collar is insulated. There is a controller keeping the fan at a slow speed. A magnetic reed switch on the lid operates a DPDT relay so when the lid is closed the fan is on, and lid open turns on an LED 5050 strip for light inside. No beer foaming as the operating pressure, carbonation level is balanced with the line length/diameter. So no co2 comes out of solution.

    Hope this helps!

Finally had a chance to do a video tour of the arcade/diner/movie theater/nano brewery/bar. I realized after I made the video I spoke of the pinball machines like a noob, but I had originally posted on my home brewing forum and they may not be familiar with pinball. I hope to have a better representation of the setup with everything turned on cooking food etc during a party at some point. I have a few ancillary projects going on making the basement a bit cluttered.

Honestly though, all my inspiration for the entertainment area came from Pinside. The nano electric brewery came from homebrewtalks forum. Sharing in both.

Thank you all for the inspiration!

    Quoted from pinwiztom:

What is the capacity of each cylinder? And how are they filled? Does the beer distributor fill them or do you?

    Quoted from bigguybbr:

Those are Cornelius kegs (aka corny kegs) they are roughly 5.5 gallons kegs that the soda industry used to use for fountain drink syrup. They are now mostly for home brewers. The CO2 and Nitrogen cylinders come in different sizes and you can get those at home brew supply stores

Correct!! 14 of the 5 gal corny kegs, and two of the 2.5gal corny kegs. 5lb CO2 tank for serving pressure, and a 20 cu/ft nitro tank filled with 75% nitrogen / 35% CO2, AKA "Beergas," AKA the stuff Guinness is served with. I have the last tap outfitted with a stout nozzle for my imperial stout I made. I do have a very large 20lb co2 tankfor force carbing beers. I make all my beer, wines, and ciders. Typically make 5 gal batches, but I do have a very large 30gal kettle where 3 of my friends and I split evenly if we are making a beer we all like.

    #18669 2 years ago
    Quoted from pinwiztom:

So I guess if you bought a couple cases of Keystone Light or PBR
one could open those and pour into a "Corny" kegs
to satisfy those with a limited taste range?

Makes no sense. If you want that beer, got plenty of fridge space to store it before you drink it

    Quoted from punkin:

No. Why would you take beer out of a convenient package just to put it in a less convenient package?
You could learn to brew a clean lager though.

Lagers require precise temp control among other things. I have a controller heat element and swamp cooler to control fermentation temps, but i brew mostly porters and stouts. I do one NEIPA citra/mosaic, and I have a Sam Adams white christmas ale clone on tap that is a wheat beer. I even have a peanut butter porter made with reeses pieces... The next experimental brew is a s'mores stout, wifes receipe not mine lol

The glass rinser in action. Not the best video though.

I got the same setup on my jockey box with 4 taps. Wife custom made it for me. Its a huge attraction at the home brew festivals and when I need cold drink up in the backyard for those who dont want to come downstairs.

My friend Josh is the assistant brewmaster over there in Manchester!

While we’re so deep into the subject of gameroom pics, does anyone want to stop over for some ribs this weekend? Got me a new smoker.
    [quoted image][quoted image]

Mmmm nice!!! I have a restored Weber Genesis 1000 I use as a smoker. Your setup is badass!! The Weber does well though, maintains 250F no problem. Works amazing with SS hardware inside! Cooked some tenderloin steaks awhile back with hickory wood chips!

    That she is!!
