    Quoted from glasairpilot:

    Love the Terminator!
The flight simulator is an near exact replica of my Beechcraft Baron. I had it custom built to teach my wife to fly. The yoke even has force feedback technology making it feel like the real plane. The builder is coming to my home to tweak it this weekend.

Even in picture form that looks like a real plane flying. Awesome.

    Quoted from ZNET:

Good eye, Ron. Indeed, the Southland Engineering Speedway arcade game utilizes modified Strombecker slot cars (1/24th scale). Slot cars in an EM arcade in a pinball cabinet. . .my nirvana. . .just bury me in the thing when I die, okay?

How does this game work? With these cars if you decelerate do they cause less friction on turns or something? Trying to figure out how this game would work when the cars can't fly off of the track. That was always the problem (and the only one) with going too fast constantly when I was a kid.

    Quoted from heni1977:

And just what was wrong with the 80's? Lots of great pinballs and arcades during that time!

Are you implying the rest of 80's fashion was great though?

    Quoted from AlexSMendes:

Dude, have you noticed a vagabond in your basement?

Yeah, I made him stay in the garage until he got a little more dressed up but he's working towards a brighter future now

    #6854 7 years ago
    Quoted from oldskool1969:

What is the machine with dolphins on the side, second pic, part one?

Chicago Coin's Showtime (2P is called Dolphin), probably one of pinball's worst creations and nothing to get excited about but I can't bear to part with my first pinball machine ever

    #6862 7 years ago

Kicked off construction of the 80's pinball section of my basement with two simple but awesome bulbs. Never realized how effective these things were. They make anything white glow far across the room even with the other lights on. Always thought they were a lot more bogus than that, awesome.

I post a lot about my EM's but the 80's pinball generation is where my heart and nostalgia (even though it was two decades after) lies. Too bad everything from that era is getting so damn expensive but I've had a Flash project sitting in my garage for a year and a half that probably hasn't been touched since the 80's that is coming next along with another Williams that has been sitting forever because I hate the system 3-6 boardset. Gotta do it someday, might as well get it over with finally!

What I have so far to move in there:

    Comet
    Devil's Dare
    Flash
    World Cup ('78 version)

I seriously need a Gorgar. Anyways, can't wait to get going on this project. Nostalgia fueled should be so much more fun. EMs will be getting their own special overhauled spot where most of the games currently are.

Wow, that looks amazing! Nice job!

    Quoted from weaverj:

was there ever a state championships of game rooms? we would have a registration period of a week, then we'd vote on our favorite from each state. it would be pretty cool, to see where we rank on a state level to see how far we need to go.
i'm officially proposing this. it would go much smoother with some help from pinside, i believe. something on the main page, at least a stickie on the forums.

Much with other things, I feel like how rich you are would be a winning factor (and that stinks), but it'd still be cool to see as a spectator.

    Quoted from PoBoyPinball:

My first game room was a 12X12 portable building (wife got tired of pins in the dining room) Was able to have 4 games in it.

I doubt I'm alone in my first thought being "Oh man, I need one of those in my driveway!"...

    Quoted from schudel5:

Other half of the gameroom. EMs, classic Sterns and not in frame is the ball bowler.

    Awesome.

Not sure about your choice in couches but at least they match the walls!

for all those Star Trek tables.

"Tables" is apparently a dangerous word to use around here! There's even a thread about it...

    Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

Airborne is waiting on parts, which hopefully will be here today. Have some coils locked on so transistors and/or chips need replacement.
If by bungee cord you mean the yellow and black thing hanging from the ceiling - that is a TRX workout system. If you know me, you know damn well that isn't mine. LOL My wife uses it.
    Chris

I think he means on the glass, pretty sure it's only just the power cord though.

    Quoted from bobnatlanta:

Updated lineup after some trading and juggling. The 150 sq ft room will hold six, a little uncomfortably. Currently I've got 8, with 1 on the way out, TBD, and another that will have to live in the garage until I make the next set of difficult choices... All the games are functional, and the space has been almost completely cleared of parts and tools in prep for holiday visits. The Spirit of 76 head is part of a a WIP, as is the Grand Prix, which is currently in the garage.

Love the backglasses up towards the ceiling (was talking about the two single-player Gottlieb ones, but just noticed the Aztec one as well). What did you use to mount them up there? Are they framed?

This is the second post like this I've seen this week, it's weird how the "family friendly Pinside update" from last year kind of wore off, haven't seen this stuff here in ages because of that and usually it's been pretty strict

Not complaining (hah!), just surprising. How much did they charge?

    #7773 7 years ago
    Quoted from blimpey:

I've seen several similar posts in this thread, but if it causes any type of problem I'm happy to remove it. They have been marked NSFW.

Sure, no worries, I was just speaking towards Pinside. I'm cool with it.

    Quoted from blimpey:

    They have been marked NSFW.

Yeah, I marked 'em. Figured it might save an angry boss or a questioning wife somewhere.

Is that a Xenon at the very end?

Definitely appears so, and checks out on the collection page!

    Quoted from Hougie:

    Not an exciting space

Looks exciting to me, the best thing about a pinball machine (or 7) is it can make one of the blandest rooms the most fun one in the house + the one you spend the most time in!

    #7924 7 years ago
    Quoted from dung:

Just an update. Was testing the waters to see if I could fit 9 machines. The spare radical went back on the wall next to airborne for now and the 3 alvin g's are lined up straight. Hoping to host a part in a few months, right now 5 machines play. Pinball Magic will get fixed up next and then on to the radicals.

    I love the hound

Getting new games soon so going to have to mess up my favorite layout (hate that, hah!) and don't think I've posted it here yet so here goes. Still needed a bit of tweaking in the Out Of Sight/Wild Life/Magnotron/Airport/Mayfair/Skipper row, but I am/was pretty happy with it. Not bad for grandma's basement. (Apologies for the mess, it is cleaned up now, moved stuff due to holidays & visitors)
