My home is under construction, but here is the location of my future “mini arcade”. 4 pins on the wall pictured and blinds will stay closed and down. Some decor on both side walls, and a Pac-Man or similar arcade on wall directly to right when walking in!

I have a second room I can use as overflow if needed, already used all my monies getting this 1955 home updated to 2020 throughout. Gutted kitchen and bathrooms, removed a wall to open it up. New paint, fixtures, ect. It’s as nice a first home as I could hope for.

    #14739 4 years ago

Lol, my plans next are to move 911 out and bring another one in, depending on what is brought in will determine if Bad Cats gets the boot or if that game gets the boot. Ideally I’d like to have Whirlwind or Funhouse brought in.

So it’s finally finished and I’ve begun creating my perfect game room. Brought half my games in so far, Elvira is reserving a spot for the other two whenever I feel like going to get them. Need some wall decor!

I'm pretty sure that Elvira is reserving spots for Bad Cats and the Party Monsters you need to replace your Rescue 911 with.

Lol I have actually been looking for a Party Monsters.

My newest game room addition. After looking for over a year I found one for $1800, the only catch was I had to complete a playfield swap that had already been started After much frustration I still am missing the diverter but it’s together now! I need a new translite too as this one is shot but I was more worried about getting it together first

A modern machine has joined the ranks of my game room. I normally don’t care that much for many modern games but HOLY CRAP this one impressed me. I brought it home from work to tinker with it as it was giving problems and now is the first time I’m really playing it. Wish I could keep it forever! Oh well it’ll stay for a while until I get it sorted then it will go back to public use. Now... to take over the guest room or wait for a bigger house.... hmmm

    Quoted from ThePinballCo-op:

ACNC is vastly underrated. Tough but makable shots, great flow, the sounds and songs are fantastic, great light show, challenging modes, and the playfield is like glass.
I straight up love mine. I got it in February and I've played it almost non-stop since. So addictive.

It sure seems that way! This one has been on and off the floor (mostly off) since 2017. Since I started working there it’s spent less than a week on the floor due to issues with frank. The gear was stripped and worn making it unreliable. I have a new gear but ever since I brought it home it’s wanting to act like a perfectly good machine. I got the flippers adjusted how I like and now I’m messing with the magnet save. The original pattern gets it maybe 1 in 5 times. So I adjusted it to 1 and we are gonna see how that does. This one is proving to be a blast as I’m pretty sure it has every option available. Blue powder coating, shaker, speaker lights, art blades. Maybe butter cab? It’s shiny but I haven’t seen a comparison in real life. We also have a TNA and R&M up at work and I like those a lot too. I was sleeping on ACNC probably due to it being off and In the back room all but two days I worked there. Glad they let me bring it home though! I had to make an immediate settings adjustment to frank as the load position was too high causing balls to drop into the cabinet which is why I think it got pulled last time rather than the motor not gripping the gear.

    Quoted from punkin:

Haven't played any other spooky games than the two i have yet, but i totally love rob Zombie and keep bringing it up to the front room where the every day pins are. I like Alice Cooper too, but Rob's the go to for me.

TNA really caught me by surprise. I didn’t see how I would enjoy a single level pin that looked so simple. As soon as I hit the start button “Welcome to the Future” and some sweet music started I knew this wasn’t going to be a typical one level game. The reactors are unique and provide nice variety for seemingly so few options. Some of them the upper playfield makes them critical and others the single pop bumper and outer orbits. Very very fast game.

    #16251 3 years ago
    Quoted from punkin:

Thanks, hopefully i'll get to play one in a couple of weeks as there will be one at Pinfest in Newcastle NSW and the show looks like going ahead. I'll be taking my restored Sorcerer down there too for people to see and play.
I do know a guy with a TNA 40 mins away and should have been to play it, but just haven't got organised so far. Running out of room for pins and looking at really refining my collection to games i love over the next few years rather than the bulk building i've been doing the last 18 months since i bought the first one.
If it's a better game than Rob Zombie like so many people seem to think, I'll be looking for one.

If you want to make it through the reactors try co op mode. On my own the best I’ve been able to make it to is reactor 4 (of 9). Keep ballsave alive for as long as possible. This game is MEAN. you blink and that scoop will get you.

Addams needs general refurbishment. Decent playfield that has Mylar over normal wear areas, should clean up. Road Show is going to be a journey to get going all the way

Looks like Red had one too many

Poor Ted had his eyelids stolen by Red. That probably explains the side eye!

    #19326 2 years ago
    Quoted from HooperTriplett:

That's some potent nightmare fuel there.

It’s actually not as bad as I was anticipating. There are some questionable “repairs” in a couple of spots but I was able to get it to fire up and start a game and it seems like the things not working are teds eddy sensor for dozer and up and down position. Mouths both work. Both heads need rebuilt.

    #19329 2 years ago

Guys I must inform you of a steal I got after posting my new game room on Facebook. Someone I know messaged me and said they had a working firepower and if I was interested they’d sell it to me for $500. I don’t know where it’s going to go, but at that price, I don’t care. She asked if I wanted to come look it over and I said I didn’t need to. As per my updated collection. I now own a firepower as well!

    #19331 2 years ago
    Quoted from PinballHaven:

Be careful out there my friend……FB deals that sound to good to be true are usually just that. Hope it works out!

I personally know this person, they could have called my cell. They were already on Facebook and just hit me up that way. I’ve seen this machine before and it’s been with same owners for a long time! No worries in that dept

    #19338 2 years ago
    Quoted from pinballslave:

Looks like Ted's been a naughty boy and Red's not having any of it!

Looks like now Ted is worried and Red has sobered up. Taken apart to see how much $$ it’s gonna cost me to rebuild them. Looks like about $80 between two new crank links eye centering wires and eyelids for red. Ted will be having his original eyelids returned to him.

Are projects not apart of most game rooms?

Here it is in all of its glory! The repaired Road Show fully functional. I need to drill out a broken off screw inside of the mounting bracket for Reds hat but otherwise, she’s golden!

    Quoted from CaptainNeo:

    roadshow looks great. well done.

Thanks. Full list of issues from when it came to me. Dirty playfield/worn out rubber, Ted missing eyelids, Ted crank arm and brass eyelets worn causing eyes left to look too far and jam, incorrect springs on both eyelids close and the eyes closed unlock solenoid, bulldozer down opto not working correctly due to bad wiring elsewhere, red crank arm shattered, red eyelids belonged in Ted, red horizontal coil with broken lug causing a risk of a short, red eye links missing red brass eyelets worn, both diverter plunger spring links broken causing the plungers to not pull the diverters but still had tension to keep them closed. CPU not holding memory due to crummy battery holder. Red hat screw hole has a broken screw in it, Ted dozer decals worn/one missing. All of these except the last two have been addressed.

I’m also thinking about replacing some of the under playfield lighting as it is some of the older comet bulbs that were not that great in some spots. I also don't like the purple around the map. Here is where I am hung up. On the pop bumper lights. Do I go with the good ole .89c non ghosting SMDs or does anyone have input on the comet rings? I think I like the look of them but I’m not sure I’m crazy about having to glue the rings to the pop bumper caps. This leads me to the evo bright caps. Those look like a good solution that don’t require glue but does require me to pay shipping twice on a small amount of lights (I’m cheap what can I say). Anyone have input on if the rings are worth it?

Quoted from PinSpinner:Doesn’t look like you have near enough pins to fill out that room. Aren’t you afraid of it looking bare? What would the neighbors think. You need more pins just to keep the neighborhood’s house values strong. You don’t want to be the guy that drags down the subdivision… . At least that is what I would tell my family if I were in your shoes.

Don’t worry, I have 2 more not pictured because I have them overflowing into my current living room. One of them is out there and the other is at a friends house. They will all be coming home soon!

My game room accepted a rare addition this past weekend! Added transporter to the lineup. Also have plenty of room for future expansion! Eventually the goal is all 30 sys 11 machines. I still need to get the bad cats back home

Looks great. We are having a beach house built and my gameroom is upstairs and has a stair railings like you buy builder does white spindles. I'm doing the black iron like yours. Did you do them yourself? Lowes or home depot or on line? Thx

Those were put in by the builder so I’m not sure what they are. I love this house. It’s a modern split level but doesn’t look like it from outside. From the bottom up, the levels are walkout basement, game room, main living/kitchen/garage/bath/dining/entryway, master bed/bath, then laundry/2 guest rooms/large bathroom.

    Quoted from cookpins:

What is your "room for expansion"? I can't really wrap my head around it, and am more confused now that you say its a split level. It seems like a massive room.

I’m referring to the basement that is unfinished. It runs underneath the entire main level. Basically the entire main level consists of the main living area. I’ll post some pics and see if it helps. Outside

The house does not look large from the front but it is very deep. Including the basement which is not finished year, it is nearly 3400 sqft.
