First time poster. Here are some pics of the gameroom. A few more are on my webpage...
I posted a few pictures a while back, but now I finally settled on a lighting scheme after a few years of tinkering. I use chrome bathroom light bars fitted with colored compact spiral fluorescents. The bulbs have an interesting shape and provide some mellow color. I found racks of these bathroom fixtures for $5 to $15 at Habitat for Humanity stores. There's a soffit running the length of the room and I found I could mount lights on the sides of the soffit without causing glare on any pinball playfield glass or backglass. Shorter people see a bit of glare at the top of the backglasses, but it's not too bad. Altogether I have three eight-bulb light bars on each side of the soffit for a total of 48 bulbs in red, yellow, green and blue. I don't know how to get decent pictures of the effect. In real life the color and shape of the bulbs are plainly visible and there's a neat alternating color effect down the center of the room. Yet the colors combine to light the games in a more even white. I like it.
Quoted from Vic_Camp:How big is the space?
It doesn't get much better than that. Great Room!
Thanks for the view.
It's about 800 sqft. More info here...
Quoted from mbelofsky:My friend, John, showed me how to do this with smart plugs and Alexa. I think it is really cool.
You're having the game of your life.
You're kicking your buddy's ass.
You're buddy says... "Alexa game off"
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Yup. Put the blacklights under the pins. The closer they are to the ground, the more light they throw.
Similar to what I did with my pub table...
I found an old digital picture frame in the bottom of a drawer that I loaded up with a few hundred game flyer images and turned into a gameroom wall decoration. It wasn't designed to do portraits so I had to drill a vertical mounting hole and per-rotate the images. And the wood part of the frame was too chunky and "living room-looking" so I ripped it down and painted it. On the plus side it's smart enough automatically go to slideshow upon power up. It's plugged into a switched outlet and starts running with the rest of the room lighting. The slideshow runs for about 45 minutes before repeating.
I suppose there's always room for one more (would still like to fine a nice Road Kings someday), but maybe I'm done. The space is about as crowded as I'd like to see it and I have about as much to maintain as I'm interested in maintaining. Quoted from Days:Hello, what do you use to simulate the scores on that LOST WORLD backglass? it's a Sticker?
Lost World and Strikes and Spares are promo posters. The scores are just part of the posters.
Quoted from kyle5574:What’s the circuit above your ARCADE sign?
AM radio; tech school lab class from around 1988.
Quoted from DavidCPA:Where did you get all those Automaton wood things? So cool!
Timberkits...

The US distributor (now gone) used to send me the kits because I'd make a webpage about them. This was a long time ago before they had much in the way of their own promotion. Looks like the kits can be had on Amazon.
Quoted from Indypin:I have the Battlestar Galactica DVD collector's edition from years ago and the front of that box looks like your wall hanging, but I can't tell for sure. Still, it looks awesome!
You're spot on. Click...
