Here you go. Game was a Bobby Orr Power play. Bruins also has a wav trigger board with real in game call outs.

That's awesome!!! Would love to have a Devils version. How long until the Edmonton guys each have an Oliers??? Cool stuff you guys have up there. Could use that zamboni for the river behind my house, feels like Alberta here.

Why make a devils version? You'd beat it every time!

Picture of my new topper for ya.

    Houdini in the house!!

Cool, were you into Houdini before the game came out? Or did you decorate in preparation for the game? Must have been thrilled when it was announced if it's the former.

I know a little about flooding. Can't believe my sump pump couldn't keep up! Didn't own any pins at the time, they would now be priority #1.

    Quoted from jawjaw:

That's terrible. Sorry to see that. We had terrible flooding here from Hurricane Harvey. A lot of people still have not recovered.

Thanks, our flood was about 8 years ago. House hadn't been renovated since 1950 anyway, so we got moving on a lot of stuff earlier than planned. I love living right on the river, so personally it's worth the occasional flood hassle. Though I do hope we never see one like that again!

    Quoted from Richthofen:

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but why wouldn’t you? You live by a body of water that’s already flooded once like that in your lifetime.
I love living near the water too (I live in the ocean state after all) but I definitely checked floodmaps before I bought and I live 200ft above sea level. Flood insurance will cover renovations and such but these classic games are irreplaceable

Fair question. That in theory was a 1000 year flood, probably more like a 100 year these days. I was familiar with the type of flooding my house experienced before we purchased, if we could stick with those I would be no big deal at all. The house seems to be built with the more reasonable floods in mind. There's actually a somewhat easy flood control fix that will hopefully be built one of these days. Up stream is a giant reservoir they no longer use for drinking water. Unfortunately they can only lower it a bit with the current pipe setup. Most likely the new pipes won't cost a crazy amount, but when fund it they go with the worst case scenario (like 10X more). So it might be a while. The other good news is we don't flash flood at all. The pins will most likely be outta here completely when things are looking bad.

Anyway, I should post a game room pic. Very modest, moved some stuff around (the Comet is currently living at my moms). Eventually the couch will go and I'll add a few more pins. I figure if I stick with the coaster theme I can't go too crazy!

Not exactly a game room pic, but figured it can't hurt to post a picture of the floating movie screen I built. This is from a few years ago, I made some improvements since then, it's actually a bit wider now. Only problem is I still haven't figured how to take it down easily. So I have to break stuff every year. When it's not being used I winch it up and park it near the house. Cuts down on the potential wind damage.

    Quoted from JoeJet:

A+ for ingenuity and creativity but could you explain why you would do this?? Lol.
If you need more distance I get that but how does that screen not move and become a distraction even on a calm day?

Hmmm, I think it started out with a conversation like "wouldn't it be cool if....", then of course there was a lunch bet on whether I could build it and if it would actually float. There are indeed pipes driven into the muck, so it doesn't move much at all. It is fun to listen to people's reactions when they canoe by (there's a rental place down stream). Lots of "Holy S#!ts" and some confusion. One guy asked if it was for hitting golf balls in to, haven't tried that yet.

    Quoted from yzfguy:

Thanks, I can't take credit for the idea..... A friend thought it up. It's a moon from a space Invaders arcade, I made a sort of housing to hide a blacklight fixture aiming at it powered thru the game. I had stuff up there before, but I think this really pops and looks like it belongs up there

Just need to get rid of that Rangers light and the place would be perfect!

Are the rooms hidden so that the wives don't know about all the games in there? My garage has a separate storage room at the back that abuts my pinball room. I should try to steal that space and see how long it takes her to notice. Might be years!

Very cool, did the work start yet? Please post some pics when it does. I always enjoy the building threads.

    Quoted from dmieczko:

Please add a Comet to that lineup... It's my favorite of the roller-coaster themed machines.

I have one but it's at my mom's. It would look much better next to the Cyclone than the Roller Coaster does. Might have to swap.

Picture is from about 10 years ago. I checked one part of that wall and it had no insulation. Turns out it had just compressed downward. Probably been flooded 5 times before the "big one". Did spray foam in the rest of the house. Will do that one the new walls also. Should be a fun project.

Glad to see you're making progress! Time to get back to work in mine. Tore down the rest of the walls yesterday...

Oof. What the hell happened there? Pipes or weather?

Weather, this one took us by surprise. Was only supposed to be 3 or 4 inches, which we can handle. Not sure how much came down, but it was a lot. Lots of cars still in the neighborhood, included my wife's. Of course I'd rather lose a car than a pinball machine. I moved al the EMs upstairs. Normally I would evac the solid states, but like I said, took us by surprise. I'll attach an updated pic in a min.

Thanks everyone. Bit of bad pinball news, the Cyclone fell over sometime over night. Very disappointed, that was my first game and all time favorite. It was in excellent condition, probably not so much anymore. I'll let it dry out and see what can be done. At least the backglass was upstairs.

The rest of the machines stayed high and dry. Even the Disco Fever was high enough, I wasn't so sure for a while. I think my mistake with the Cyclone was that I put it on some This End Up furniture. Turns out they're very buoyant.

The room itself it a total mess. Things were looking so good just on the last page of this thread. Oh well, time to get back to work. Water still isn't gone yet, but plenty to do.

Thanks again everyone, and sorry to hear other people are having issues. Cyclone is actually looking pretty good. Got a fan inside and 4 dehumidifiers going. Brought the playfield upstairs yesterday. The rest of the machines are safely on the ground.. Some new pictures....

    Five Jolly Parks?

Wow, I knew pinballslave had more than one. But five!!! We had briefly discussed me possibly purchasing one before I managed to find a nice one already over here.

    #18190 2 years ago
    Quoted from pinballslave:

It was nuts to end up with so many of these, they weigh a ton too, so they're a pain to lug around, as I'msure you can testify! I can't imagine how you got yours up on those chairs!!!

I let my wife lift up the Jolly Park, she's strong like bull! Seriously though, I can't thank her enough for helping me save the pins. Never complained once. She has suggested maybe we should build up rather than keeping them on the ground level.

    #18191 2 years ago
    Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

Keep the dehumidifiers going, but in all seriousness, go to the store and buy some newspapers, may be able to get some free yesterpapers from the library. Wad up pages individually and throw them in your machine. They absorb water from the air extremely effectively.

I have tons of newspapers for fire building. I'll stuff some in. Thanks! Any other recovery tips are appreciated.

    #18269 2 years ago

The drywall I tore off already was dry as can be. It had a big dent in it, so it had to go. Can't really see it in the pic behind the Cyclone. It's all the mold resistant stuff. Biggest problem is the combination of the paint and the paper layer on the drywall. Paint bubbled and made a mess of the paper layer of the drywall. I figure it will be easier to just replace the drywall rather than try to get the existing ones looking good enough. The insulation is all the spray foam, so that's all good. Would have been a relatively quick fix if the paint held up.

I don’t think I’ve ever put any thought into the order of games before.

Must be something wrong with you!

I was too embarrassed to post a picture of my ems, they're definitely not in the proper order right now.

I try to line the machines up by release date, but my Bell Ringer in the pic above is way down the end. There's less space due to a closet, so it makes spacial sense. Also, if I put it in date order, it would be between Cyclone and Hurricane. That would just be dumb.
