    Quoted from drummermike:

Very nice room! Lots of room for more. Looks like an Olhausen table.

Yep, it’s an Olhausen. Been in the family for over 20 years. I refinished it because the brown stained oak and tan cloth didn’t fit in the decor.

    Quoted from drummermike:

Looks great. Mine is natural hard rock maple.

Nice! I bet that looks sharp

Matches my Ludwig drum set. OCD. Check my profile page gameroom pics.

Very nice. Is that a 9 footer?

Awesome thread. I’ve been lurking for a while and stealing some ideas for a while for our basement remodel. It’s been done for a bit but we finally wheeled in LOTR a couple weeks ago to complete the project. I’m very happy to spend every free minute down here.

Looks great! Love the floor. I put something that looks just like that in another part of the house. Always get lots of compliments on it. People are always surprised when they find out it’s not wood.

    #12919 5 years ago
    Quoted from Chisox:

Yeah it’s amazing how good the fake stuff looks nowadays. I mean what do you mean fake? That’s the real deal!

Ha! But seriously you’d have to be crazy to put wood down in a basement. With the way the vinyl looks and feels nowadays, it’s a no brainer. I put it throughout half of my first floor because I have a 18 yr old “puppy” (she’ll always be my puppy) that has lots of accidents unfortunately and it just cleans right up like nothing happened.

Looks great calfdemon. You have quite a liquor selection. I’m heading over for a drink....or several!

    Quoted from vwallat99:

Feels awesome to have done yes and thanks on the color scheme comments guys. I just got rid of my old red top pool table the other day after I took those pictures. I'm getting a nicer table and I'm not sure what felt color I'm going to do. I went with the red walls knowing that the pool table would be temporary and I would get a different one. I'm thinking of light grey , Any ideas?

I’d say charcoal, but I might be a little biased

    Quoted from cait001:

I think a lot of people might be enticed to get into something like that if they knew the price was accessible

Oh boy can they get out of hand very quickly. Im converting a garage spot for mine and there’s a lot of components if you want to really trick it out. The sim, computer to control it, projector, hitting screen, mat to hit off, netting to create the stall, etc. Could easily add up to $5000 without batting an eye.

    #14194 4 years ago
    Quoted from Deaconblooze:

Are you making any major changes to your garage? I've been going back and forth between making a convertible setup (with a fold up hitting area, and sliding curtains), and something more permanent with studded walls.

Not doing any major changes but am setting it up really nice. I’ve been planning this for 2 years and have it all worked out finally so now it’s time to implement it in the spring. I’ll be painting the whole garage bay black including ceiling. The screen I’ll be getting from http://www.westcoastnetting.com/netting-products/sports/golf-barrier/impact.html. It will be appx 11’ wide by 10’ high. Then I’ll have a floor to ceiling blackout curtain that can be pulled open or closed to separate the area from rest of garage. The projector will be a short throw HD that will be mounted over my head about 11’ from the screen. I’ll be swinging from about 10’ from screen. The mat will be a large 5’x5’ pad and then I’ll be laying outdoor faux grass carpeting throughout the rest of the area to finish it all off.

That doesn’t look like black light to me. More like purple replica black light

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

Without watching the video on how the blocks are made, wouldn't it be pretty easy to pay a plastics shop to cnc machine the acrylic blocks?

The blocks are cnc’d. BUT the front facing edge is sanded to give it a cloudy appearance instead of clear. I assume to hide the leds shining thru the acrylic. The video shows the guy sanding each piece by hand. I would think a belt sander or sanding block would get the job done in no time.

How is the dart board backboard holding up? I looked it up on amazon and it’s pretty ingenious. Been looking for a good dart board backboard for years

Works great. I have the same one. It just locks together and friction fits around the board. Darts stick into it like the dartboard. Highly recommend

The extended length is the way to go too. I had the other that was square and a lot of stray darts hit wall below it. Not anymore

    Quoted from Spyderturbo007:

If I can also make a recommendation. The PEX should be going through the center of the 2x4. You have yours really biased to one side. I can see a drywall screw going right into it.
I'd at least put up some metal blocking plates to protect them from puncture.

    Quoted from fooflighter:

When you're racking your brain how your going to add another 12/2 line for a dedicate circuit in your 3 year old home..and then scouring build pics, you realize the builder/electrician added an ENT conduit raceway for future work. It's the little things
    [quoted image]

It’s amazing to me how codes change from state to state. I cringe at the sight of that. Not knocking you at all. Just used to EVERYTHING having to be in metallic conduit

    #17410 3 years ago
    Quoted from Jtm3:

First thing I thought of too but then I realized it’s romex so what difference would it be as romex is run without conduit anyway.

We can’t use romex. Everything has to be run in conduit. Which makes things easier if you need to up your circuit. Just pull new wires through pipe without having to open walls

Its an old Zenith TV I pulled out of my great aunts basement. I gutted it and put a PC and monitor in it. I have hours of 80's and 90's cartoons and toy commercials it cycles through. Every time I look over I see a different memory from my childhood Gotta get the knobs mounted on the front yet.

I am looking for art/mural for inside garage doors. Anyone have any examples or a good place to start looking?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Maybe look into photography backdrops. I used a couple in my golf sim to dress up the walls instead of paint. Just make sure the pic is HD and read reviews because some of the cheaper ones are a little washed out or blurry. They come in different sizes so you should be able to find something that will completely cover the door. Also it will bend with door when it opens.

When it’s sent out it has folds and creases that can be steamed out from the backside. Something I was too lazy to do as you can see in my sim, so you can see the folds

    Quoted from Deaconblooze:

I'm considering some addition options. It seems like the most cost-effective and most potential added space would be a room above our 3-stall garage. Anyone have really rough figures of the cost to add something like that?

A rough start would be about $200 sq ft. Could be more depending on how you deck it out. Nowadays, less than $200 a sq ft would be hard to pull off.

Excellent selection of games... what's the one in the middle if this pic?

Zooming in to the zoomed in pic it seems to be GoT...

I see that as well. Maybe an alternate or custom backglass?
