Quoted from radium:So you sit there and play virtual pinball in front of your real pins? That's like cheating on your wife right in front of her!
Vp is for when someone is waiting to play
Quoted from swillie:Put that tv on the wall to the left and looks like you might have room for a row of 4 pins...
I can hang the tv and fit 3 with access to the closet. 4 pins and no access to 4ft closet.
I have a full 1100sq2 basement that's currently being renovated into 2 bedrooms, bath, rumpus/games room. And one of those bedrooms could be a pin room too. Think I can fit about 15 pins total.
Laminate flooring is super cheap, comes in 100s of colors and styles, easy cleanup and put those little felt protectors under the legs and games are a breeze to move around. Just a thought.
Feel free to post more pics in the basement. They're always welcome down there.
Quoted from blimpey:I've seen several similar posts in this thread, but if it causes any type of problem I'm happy to remove it. They have been marked NSFW.
I like the the molson maple leaf neon. Stands out.
Quoted from neverahighscore:Upper Game Room complete! Well it's more a Terminator room with some extra fun stuff. Moving on to the main room next year.
Never seen a 4 player pacman. Pretty cool. Love the gas station light style sign on it. Have to look that one up.
Quoted from ramegoom:New addition to my game room. The 80's, they're baaaaaack:
Quoted from TRAMD:Why not.
It's been a long time since I've played a dance battle standup. Does it still get use in your gameroom? Always a blast when people get some drinks in them and try to follow the arrows. Nice room btw.
Quoted from AJB4:added a williams multigame
now the games are set till SW LE comes out (if it ever comes out)
Nice room. The sliding barn doors look sweet!
Go Blue
Quoted from nightsearcher:Where is that other pin you bought going?
Dining room for now. Shocked when wife said she likes the looks and theme and it doesn't have to go to the basement. Probably won't last but I'll take it.
Quoted from Knx873:Here's mine
Your room looks amazing! My brother in law keeps bugging us to come to pa for a visit. Road trip?
My basement is only 12.5 -13' ft wide on each side. I'd love a table but really need 14' to make comfortable shots. Next house I guess,.
Your lighting ideas Paul never fail to amaze me. Very cool idea.
Quoted from MustangPaul:Hey IKEA has some very nice RGB led strips to light up your stairs if your interested. Here's what they look like on my stairs. They come in 4 sections per package with a controller and power supply. I needed 3 packages.
In our last house I screwed a 12ft 2x4 to the wall and screwed a 12' 2x10 centered to the 2x4 and created a hidden channel. Ran a 10ft rope light and wired it in. Sanded and stained to create a nice glow down the stairs. If staircase was wider I would have done both sides.
We had a 36" stairwell. Lost 3" with the 2x4s. You could route/plane out the back of the 2x10 so the 2x4 is sunken to save a 1" or so. Max you'd lose is 3"
Quoted from MustangPaul:That sounds cool and it's a lot more sturdy of a hand rail too. Did you have enough width to move games up and down without hitting the hand rail? I've only got a 34 inch width to work with.
Quoted from MustangPaul:That sounds cool and it's a lot more sturdy of a hand rail too. Did you have enough width to move games up and down without hitting the hand rail? I've only got a 34 inch width to work with.
I'd box that beam on the right side of your stairs with 2 or 3 2x4s. Use that as your anchor and attach up by the opening where it looks like it's finished. You can leave space to run electrical for a 3 or 4 way switch and turn lights off upstairs or down. We used 2 3 ways. One to control the leds and one to light recessed lighting above stairs. On the wood instead of staining maybe get some blacklight paint and trip it out to match your decor.
Quoted from jrockne:I'm prepairing to start finishing off the last little bit of my basement. Not much, it will end up being about 9X20' when done... But, I need some motivation, lets see some photos!!!
What have some of you done with tight spaces?
Quoted from wolv3:This is my mock set up I'm working towards. The pin on the bottom right may need to go if it's too tight.
I like what this ohio state fan did with the barn door and looks like 10 ft deep max.
Quoted from KirboTurbo:2 of my favorite things in 1 room, Pinball & Golf! Things got a little crazy one night with some of my buddies, so i had to make a rules sign.
Where's the golf simulator? Nice space!
Quoted from DSL_:TMICK73 Love the classic Marvel Covers. Did you have those made up???
Not sure where tmick73 got his but they sell them up here at Winners. They have them printed on both canvas and prints under glass, lots of sizes. Star Wars, DC Comics, Marvel, etc..
Look good when you can match them up with a game.
Does anyone have a Superman for sale to go with this one?
This is a game room thread not arcade thread? Lol.
If you want to go a little cheaper you can buy a rasp pi 3 for $100, xarcade 2 player w/trackball $300, 40" tv $200 and a old arcade cab $50 or design and build a cabinet yourself. A little less available on the rasp pi (Every atari, coleco, nes, snes, neo geo, turbo graphix 16, sega mega drive, master system, n64, ps1, mame and alpha games) but still has about 5000 games. You can probably add pinball x, arcade, etc. Haven't had time to go further in. Has 4 usb for extra controllers (a must for old nes, snes, etc)
Now back to pics of axes, decks, games and bars! And maybe a few more pics of bathrooms (Vanilla Ice bathroom A+)
I was at a antique/collectors auction a couple weeks back and a Ronald McDonald sold for $1250 cdn. I sure wanted it but not at that price. Is it true most were ordered to be destroyed?
Quoted from stefallica:Here is the latest video of my gameroom !
Enjoy !
» YouTube video
Haha, Ted has a porn stash! That's awesome. Great looking room and vid btw @ stefallica
Quoted from Cheese_WizardPQ:you're in my top 5 for sure!!!
Besides rotor Dave's gameroom, your pinchurch is my fav.
Quoted from rrosenhouse:Just remodeled my basement gameroom. Very happy with the finished product.
Nice space!! Doubt you'll get bored down there.
I've never seen a vp stand up before. Very cool concept.
Quoted from Cheese_WizardPQ:Little update on mine (in 2 rooms now)
tatman9999; you're the man! Loving it!!
Mine is on a 2nd floor. It's a pain in the ass to add games but the natural light is what I love!
Ahhhh my favorite game room. I love log homes, timber frames and seeing the pin church. Awesome collection of axes too! Someday I hope to build something as cool as yours
Quoted from wolv3:Once that couch goes you'll have room for one more!
One more and they're going down into the basement my wife says Plus I'd have nowhere to sit and watch sports. Maybe I can find someone to trade all 3 to for a Met pro
Quoted from kcZ:Yes... Move that. I've seen a Q ball bounce from a break and fly further than you have your pins cracking the base of a toilet. Bathroom was well off center from the pool table.
Man, that must have been shitty
Great room again Paul. I especially like the lit up playfields. I can't remember if there is a link on how you light them up but it definitely is one of the coolest additions I've seen in someone's gameroom. Comet must love you?
Quoted from MustangPaul:Thanks. Your quite a ways away so that would be quite a trip. But if your ever in town let me know and I'll fire everything up and we can have some fun.
Your only 1000 miles from Battlefords. That's not bad. October 15th, Vikings host the Packers at the new stadium in Minneapolis.
Quoted from MustangPaul:I can have 20 people down there comfortably but it does get a little warm down there.
I can get 19 other fellow Canadian pinheads together for a road trip!
Border agent "Where are you guys heading?"
Guys on bus "We're heading to Mustang Paul's in Minnesota to play pinball!"
Border agent "Sure you are, and for how long?"
Guys on bus "as long a Paul will have us"
Border Agent "Ok, have a great time! Say hi to Paul for us"
Quoted from volkdrive:Getting everything cleaned up for league/club party this Saturday
Dhpl? When's the next membership opening?
Quoted from Goalie:basement is finished and the babies have a new home. Now i need to decorate the walls.
And remove the pricetags
Quoted from vwallat99:Here's my updated game room. Starting to run out of ideas on what to do!
Nice space! I'd run individual sockets for the neons to clean them up or some kind of border/strip to hide them.
Is there a slot machine thread? If there isnt, you guys should start one!
How about some pics of game rooms?
Quoted from jsyjay:Dug my decent camera out for the first time in years
Love the original 4 player Simpsons arcade!! Here's my most recent addition
Always like seeing your space ramegoom! Those floors are amazing looking!!
Every time you post tho it makes me want a skiball and shuffle bowling game
Great looking room! Super nice pool table! I like variety and a pool table is a nice balance. If it doesn't get played move it along but looks great where it is. Just a envious onlookers thoughts.
Quoted from kidchrisso:Did some re-arranging due to Stargazer and Seawitch arriving soon..I feel the pool table days are numbered...LMAO, need room for Golden Tee 2018.
Quoted from Rom:My 3 essentials in my tiny small game room.
Went from 5 to 3.....had to.
But still very happy with the remainig 3.
Those are 3 great pins! Wish I had the funds to upgrade my collection but still happy with what I have.
Did some rearranging so everything fits comfortably in my 9' x 10' room. Added a true widebody so lost a couple inches of valuable space but worth it 20171102_155232 (resized).jpg 20171102_155341 (resized).jpg20171102_155205 (resized).jpg
Quoted from Cheese_WizardPQ:UFC fight tonight. GEorge St-Pierre. Our home town guy!
Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't realize there's a fight on amongst all those great pins.
Gsp is fighting again? Didn't he retire years ago?
Quoted from MustangPaul:I've always wondered what your room sounds like with the games going
Heaven
Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:Added a few new ones. Just need to squeeze in TNA next year and I’m good for a while
That Williams mat looks out of place. Needs some representation in your lineup
Quoted from RWH:Spider-Man there to play TZ or to kick some ass for not having his pin to play?
He's there to wrestle the shirtless guy taking the pic
Great looking room bro! Love the shape and look of the hey bucko funhouse sign. Is it metal, wood? Custom made? The lit HD glass globe is the bomb also!
Quoted from Kerry_Richard:Hello Pisiders... I really enjoy my game room. Not only for the pins... but the feeling I get when I'm in it. I wanted to share some picts that I have of the colors / flavors / custom signs (neon & wood) and custom clocks I've made or have had made;
Quoted from TRAMD:I'm not sure if I posted this video here before. Since this video I have everything fixed to perfect working condition (first time ever) and added a Tekken 2 next to the SF 2 pin.

First thing I noticed was the view thru the living room Window. Amazing! I've been to north Dakota and it looked nothing like that
Quoted from Roostking:friend, not so much haha. Nice vid, thanks for sharing.
Whaaaaat???? Lol
Quoted from Spencer:Nice!! looks great. I really want one of these myself, Skee-ball, whatever, but I never seem to be able to find one.
I've been looking for a ski ball for years also
Quoted from Requis:Finally took delivery of all our pins and games. Still a work in progress...but getting there, I hope some of you don’t mind I borrowed some of your ideas from your rooms! Thank you for sharing here’s ours!
Looks great but how do you have Habs and Leafs swag in the same room?
Seriously great room! The roadrunner gumball machines look cool
Hey Cam, looking good as always. See you took the giant poker table out. Good call. Also the rink and zamboni are over the top Cool! Your kids and their friends must be over all the time?!? The translite collage over the windows is a great idea. Going to steal that one
Now you just need to sell me your ES so I can come down and be amazed in person
Quoted from gliebig:More blacklight. Camera doesn't capture it great
Looks good to me!
What kind of cost per square yard? I'm considering something different in a new 12' × 12' arcade room.
I found the same pattern in tiles on amazon. 4 tiles for $250usd with free shipping for fellow Americans. Would do a 12' × 3' runner perfectly.
Quoted from swillie:A runner in front of your row of pins? That is a really good idea!
I'm bad at links but searched neon carpet. Joy carpets came up lots. Was trying to find a canadian supplier but everything kept coming up American.
Try joy carpet neon on amazon.
Quoted from calprog:New game room recently completed!! Turned out really nice. All Pinball All the time!!
Topper heaven
Looks great! What's the dimensions? Looks like 14' × 50' with the bar? Stand alone building, new build or addition?
Quoted from RTR:Finally finished our basement this year and the builder took some great photos of it:
Amazing looking room brother! Love the mix of wood on the ceilings the polished floors and brick and barn board walls. Truly awesome
Quoted from monkeyboypaul:Toppers work when a game is designed for it.
Whirlwind, Addam’s... I can’t be bothered to thinking of any better examples.
Can't forget about the baby waker? Fishtales topper is not only awesome looking, it's loud as hell!
I love how the games room thread has turned to talk about sump pumps
Speaking of sump pumps. We lived in a house on a acreage that had weeping tile around the outside of the house that drained into the 2' × 2' sump pit in our basement. Then pumped that water into our ceptic tank and then into the country drain. When it rained that pump went off every 20 minutes. When it finally failed the alarm scared the shit out of us!
Quoted from CoPinfan:Playing pinball on a rocking boat would add a whole new dynamic to the game.
There was a sttng and a broken down starwars on a ferry from Victoria to Vancouver back in mid 90s. Played the same I remember but those ferries are gigantic. A smaller boat would definitely add difficulty to anygame. Whitewater or fishtales anyone?
Quoted from PeterG:That is going to be stunning. But with only 7 games in your collection, that would be a spacious setup. Problem with these huge gamerooms is most of the time, how to get it cosy... but you will work that out.
His room has been complete for years. Just search this name here. Very awesome game room!
The open beam look works well when you have 9ft ceilings like @ramegoom. Personally on 8ft ceilings it looks like a unfinished basement to me and drywall is best.
Just starting the basement renos and have a question regarding speakers. Room is 16x36. Are you guys going with ceiling speakers? How many are needed and brand recommendations? Really intrigued by the touchscreen jukeboxes ive seen here and want to do something similar. I have towers currently but want to go with a cleaner, less cluttered look. Thanks
Quoted from OTRChief:[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Man I need to know more info on the old man slot machine. Never seen that before. Nice Seeburg btw!
So i did some research on the Cowboy Slot Machines.
Originally designed in the 1940s by Frank Polk. Made 92 of them. Hand carved wood with Mills High-Tops.
1979 Mannie Sanchez made 15 of them. Again hand carved with Mills High-Tops slots in them.
Very rare. The pic is of the ones Sanchez made. I want the devil one!
Quoted from Chosen_S:That’s not a devil, that’s a native American Indian. It’s been 400 years, and people are still confusing this !
Great research by the way, those things are really cool
Lol. I just saw the horns.
Quoted from Dayhuff:Cowboy slots are not as rare as you might think. I've seen many different ones over the years in different places from game rooms to auctions to shows..... Prices probably average less then $2K on certain ones..., it just depends. They are neat though.
John
I found a few selling/sold in the $1500 - $2500 range with not much research. There's only 107 total made so rare enough.
Quoted from Dayhuff:I think I've seen more then that over the years...., there has to be more then one manufacture of them then.
John
Yeah must be. Repops I'm going to assume were the ones I was seeing in those price ranges. I guess anything that has value you have to assume someone is trying to fake it.
Quoted from Noobee:Only EMs for me. I think I have room for four more...
That's what I love best about this hobby. Different strokes for different folks. Some guys want rows of sterns. Some want a few from all generations. Some want all the system 11s (my choice) and guys like you want Ems galore! There's something for everyone.
Quoted from zpinman370:Couple of quick updates to my room- always a work in progress. Girlfriend thinks I have issues -[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Love the ticker above the tv's. How does it work? Is it a app? Espn, a casino, fox sports? Thanks
Awesome looking place to hang out and play some pins. Just need a Class of 1812 to round out the campy horror theme.
Wow Ron, you have a really awesome space there! Great variety!! The poker table is really slick looking and the sport touches are layed out great. Great decision on the theatre over a guest room and that lane master looks like a blast. Hope to find one to try someday. What can you tell us about that driving rig? I've slowly been collecting parts and looking to build out something similar over the winter. Thanks
Quoted from Apollyon:Thanks so much!
I did have the poker table custom made from a guy in Vancouver (Chanman Poker Tables) who does amazing work. I would highly recommend him. He is not happy until you are happy. And he expertly wraps and pallets it up. 3 other guys in my poker league have ordered from him and all love his stuff. I added a couple of side tables with wheels for drinks (I didn't want cupholders on my table to have idiots spill their drinks on my table, but you can put cupholders into the rails if you like). I also had him add a chip drawer to hold all my chips and cards. The side rails with the advertising are lit by a battery under the table (so no cord to trip over). I custom designed the advertising on the boards and the playing surface to look like Rogers, with a cool ice effect. The beauty of the table is that the playing surface is a custom gaming cloth, so the cards slide perfectly. You can deal from one end and get the cards to the other side with little to no effort. You can even rim cards around the boards.

If there's ever a empty seat at one of your outings my hometown is a short 3 hrs drive away I travel with beer and cash
Quoted from yzfguy:That's the coolest poker table I've ever seen!
Right?! I think the boards are the topper. So cool. Very realistic. Now if you could get them to change like they do at Rogers
Quoted from Apollyon:Let me know the next time you’re in town.
Dude! Appriciated bro. Will do
I llive on the freezing cold prairies and have seen a dozen or so garage gamesrooms. It ranges from -35° in the winter to +35° in the summer. As long as the garage is heated and the garage doors are insulated, it's fine. I've been in a couple during the summer without air conditioning though and it's not the best. Gets a little sweaty fast.
Quoted from Hammer3246:Ever changing, but this my first pin.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Cool first game. Don't see it very often. Go Pats!
Quoted from bowtech:Love the Oilers swag. I'm pretty sure I'm the only Oilers fan down here. Always getting questions about it when I wear my gear out in public.
What's even cooler is he created it all himself! Table, toppers, signs, icb, vp. jesperpark is super creative. I'm constantly in awe of the stuff he makes.
Quoted from cait001:hahaha yeah $1600 is a bargain in these here parts! Most people would be happy to get a rough solid state machine for that price.
Is there a golf-sim club on this board? If not you should probably start a thread. I think a lot of people might be enticed to get into something like that if they knew the price was accessible. It's like racing sim setups... Most people just don't know it's A Thing that they do.
thanks for sharing the details.
Just watched a couple sell in the low 2ks. Canadian funds. Prices have really dropped on them lately. Seen them as low as $1200 on kijiji but not sure on hardware/system
Yup. Put the blacklights under the pins. The closer they are to the ground, the more light they throw.
Quoted from bowtech:Update, found some bar lights on Amazon cheap and now it makes the carpet come alive. Thanks to all you pinsiders for help and suggestions.[quoted image]
Super cool! Never seen that pattern before. Very trippy. What's the pattern name?
I like seeing a row of pins but how about some pics of the room surrounding it? Cool memrobila, cigar store indian, kickass bar, etc? Just saying
Quoted from YZRider926:So question for you guys that have your machines facing each other. How much room do you have between them? Enough to slide the glass off? Can 2 people play back to back? Or are you just cramming them in there? I’m getting to the point where I’m going to have to do something similar. I’m also hoping to eventually finish my basement and want to get some layout ideas. I have a pretty wide open space currently.
Just in terms of space, 14 ft wide room allows for games to be across from each other comfortably, with room for taking the glass off. 12 ft room gets a lot more difficult taking glass off and there will most likely be butt rubbing and calf kicking.
Quoted from November:Home made...laser cuted , rgb led strips and go !
What are they made of? You saying laser cut leads me to believe it's metal?
Could cnc them out of black acrylic or plastic also for anyone considering something similar
Quoted from Apollyon:Made a few changes to the game room. Added a pop-a-shot and one of the last Putt! Mini golf games available. Really like both additions.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
What is Putt? I'll have to look that up. Love the variety of your gameroom and still the coolest poker table out there
Quoted from Apollyon:It is a mini golf simulator. You putt the ball into the cabinet and the game senses the speed and angle of the ball. It then simulates the rest of your shot on the screen. The game come with three 9 hole courses that are very fun and different. Some traditional golf holes, some with obsticles, some with hidden paths to shoot for. Holes range from 20-60 feet long.
And the sensor technology works really well (sensing direction and how hard you shoot). 5 different skill levels to make it easier for kids or harder (with no help for pros). Keeps track of high scores for all courses. And you can play up to 4 players per game. Great for parties.
Not a lot of videos out there on this game (it was made by Chicago Gaming but is now discontinued) and they are really hard to come by.My first impressions are that it is awesome. I love it.
Cool man. I watched that promo vid and wondered if more courses would be available but if it's discontinued, doubt it. Still love the looks of that lane master!
Quoted from punkin:Posted pics on the Aerosmith thread, but i have a Stern Corner going on. Joining my own Deadpool are 3 Stern rentals. Aerosmith is a great game, possibly even better than my favourite Stern Deadpool. Munsters and ACDC lag far, far behind in popularity round here.[quoted image][quoted image]
I'd rather play acdc. Lol
Quoted from ElectricLou:Long time since I post my rooms.
Stripped my pin collections saying I was over this sh*t.
Yeah right..
1 more in the garage for high end resto. I enjoy much more playing IN them than WITH them now.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
The pin church has returned. Nice to see you back. Besides rotordaves gameroom, yours has always been my favourite. Love the combination of wood, slanted ceilings, The Swami, guitars, etc..
Try $400 Canadian for 1ups in Canada.
I just sold my mk3 mame for $600 with 8000 games in it. But that sucker weighed like 400 pounds and was just about as long as pin. Only good thing about the 1ups I can tell is the size and weight. And good luck playing another adult a co-op game on 1ups without bruising each other.
Quoted from RWH:I'm liking the cut block pillar encasement you have there, is that carried out throughout the room? I will wait if you don't want to show pics just yet, it just caught my eye.
Thanks. Wanted to do something different around the support poles instead of just boxing it in. Took a while to do each pole but we like the results
20200513_095041.jpgQuoted from RWH:The way you alternated the wood end grain makes it look like individually stacked blocks.
I considered staining or burning letters in the blocks to spell words like game room, pool hall, pinball, etc. I haven't glued them together so they spin now.
Quoted from Grandnational007:Frankly, I'm almost more impressed that someone actually has a snooker table these days, which is awesome.
It's actually just a 4x8 table. My dad bought a snooker ball set when he bought the table and thought I'd teach my wife snooker tonight during happy hour
20200510_201741.jpgQuoted from Luckydogg420:Ya, most people with 1000 games in one have to compromise on game play experience. The monitor will usually be horizontal instead of vertical, or the game will have unique controls like the star wars flight yoke. Most multicades will try to do a best case scenario with 6 buttons, a spinner, trackball and lightguns all in one machine, which can be confusing for someone new to your game room.
Here’s my 10-15 year old MAME cabinet. (I know so much more now)
[quoted image]
Then here are some arcade1up control decks.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I like how on the MK cabinet they have the moves for each character. Probably the reason I haven't played those games in years is not having the moves readily available. Sux to have to go online. Takes you away from the expierence. And playing MK on a 6 button layout is confusing to me.
Don't see many 4 dr mustle cars. Surprisingly bitchin loooking
Quoted from Kkoss24:The opening is housing a 59 coke cavalier 72 mint. The opening in ceiling will be a fiber optic night sky ceiling as seen. The car won’t fit.The hockey table is going to be a custom job.The egress window will be Jurassic Park theme zoom in it’s started by my youngest. The WOZRR is my first Pin Im working side jobs to purchase second I flippin love pinball new to this.Ill post more but this will be slow moving hoping to be complete by next spring.Purchased custom arcade 1 up with 805 n pinball that’s going in a bigger cabinet with better sound the PC is fine.

Hey question for you all. Anyone paint just one wall red, black, blue, etc to make it a feature wall and do you have pics?
We went with a neutral grey and there's lots of wood. Wife wants the 12' end wall to be a pop of color. Something red she says
Quoted from durgee7:I haven't researched yet, but having really big graffiti-style art decals for the gameroom would be awesome! I'm thinking from a non-artistic person's view. Otherwise, you can get really creative with all the different wall art. Awesome job!
I haven't googled it yet but fathead does those large vinyl peel and stick for athletes, actors, etc. Would be cool if they had a video game line. Metroid, megaman, Mario, etc.. or cartoon characters like Simpsons, rick and Morty, etc...
Quoted from MrMikeman:your booze seems american but that clamato goodness. I thought we could get that in Canada... every time I go to the states they look at me funny when I ask for a bloody ceasar. Lol
Only American is the Jack Daniels I think. Brewhouse is a Saskatchewan beer and the AGD is Alberta brewed. Royal reserve and the cheap vodka are definitely Canadian. Not sure about fireball. I love doing shots of it from the freezer. Same with tequila. So much better cold.
We both love spicy ceasars. That's a new to us flavor of clamato. Pickled bean flavored. I'll let you know how it tastes in a hr or two.

Great job man. What's your plans with the railings? Metal, wood? Would love to see a pic when finished
Quoted from xsvtoys:I watched the YouTube video, and read some of the comments. Basically every comment is the same as here, “I want one of those, how much, take my money”. The thing is so ridiculously cool that virtually no one can resist it. All the work is in those acrylic blocks, if someone could figure out how to crank those out in big quantities with some sort of manufacturing process they could sell lots of these I think.
There is something somewhat similar on Amazon, much smaller and nowhere near as cool, but it is all assembled and ready to go. They also sell them off AliExpress for cheaper if you don’t mind waiting for a shipment from China.
amazon.com link »
Without watching the video on how the blocks are made, wouldn't it be pretty easy to pay a plastics shop to cnc machine the acrylic blocks?
Quoted from gorditas:That design, coupled with a dehumidifier has kept the temperature the same in my basement as the main floor.
[quoted image][quoted image]
We just got the same dehumidifier Tuesday. Loving it so far. Super quiet and efficient. Basement humidity is between 40 and 50
20200920_204201.jpgQuoted from gorditas:Did you get yours at Costco too?
Yup. Our old one finally bit the big one a couple weeks back. Great price too. The 50 pint from Costco was cheaper then 35 pint from other retailers and less then half what Wal-Mart wanted for a 50 pint. Only downside was waiting a week for delivery. It's so nice to have the air at a healthy level instead of the high 80s/low 90s.
Quoted from Mr_Outlane:I tied my dehumidifier into the condensate pump line of my furnace. That way the water gets pumped out and I don't have to manually empty it ever. About once a year scum builds up in the drain line and blocks it. But it's easy to remove the hose and clean it. If you don't have a furnace condensate pump already, I recommend buying one and tying it into your sewer line. Manually emptying these things every day is a PITA!
We're filling a bucket every 8 hrs trying to catch up for the week it wasn't running. It is a major pita. Going to hook it up to a hose for continous drain and drain it down the sewer.
Curious on how much you guys run the dehumidifier? We talk to people here in our town and they run them 24/7 year long. I'm thinking 4 hrs on, 4 off. Wife thinks one day on, one day off. Thoughts?
Quoted from fnosm:Love your Vette art.
Also 'Vegas' is an insanely fun game. Nice collection
Thanks. Vegas is fun. Had it for a few months now and still enjoying it. A fellow pinsider was over on the weekend and really liked it also.
Quoted from Daditude:It looks nice to me
Quoted from RyanStl:Yours looks good to me.
Thanks guys. Very grateful for what we have and to a amazing friend who keeps a poor pinhead not pinless.
Here's a few pics of the more used side of the gameroom. Wife and I shoot daily for a couple hours. TV will be home to a golden tee pedestal eventually/hopefully. 20201004_221125 (resized).jpg20201004_221237 (resized).jpg20201004_221219 (resized).jpg
Quoted from nighttaco:Random question, but I'm putting in new flooring for the pins in the basement, how level does the concrete typically need to be for faux wood (vinyl) planks? Mine is pretty uneven, just curious how forgiving that flooring is to lay over...
Depending on the size of space, floor leveling is a fairly easy diy job. My wife and I leveled out a 800sq2 basement in our first house over a weekend.
You can also go with building a subfloor. The 2x2 t&g subfloor panels can be shimmed but would be a lot of work over mixing some bags of leveler with water.
Or just pay someone to do it right
Quoted from BleacherBum:My game room / home brewery. There is a fifth pin (Space Time). It is currently under going a refurb/restoration

Gorgeous floors. What are they?
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:How is the dart board backboard holding up? I looked it up on amazon and it’s pretty ingenious. Been looking for a good dart board backboard for years
I built my own using some scrap cedar. Ripped a bunch of 1" strips and PL300 glued them to a 3/4" piece of melamine I had laying around. The ledge is great for holding your beer and as a first defense against dead darts.
Don't throw much but has been hit a few times. Adds character. Holding up good

Great idea. They make good tables as well. We had a few around the fire pit area at one of our houses.
Quoted from tdiddy:[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Man, those are some nice ceilings! Another great idea to borrow someday
If you have a partner that likes to shoot pool there's nothing like it. We go down and shoot for at least 2 hours day. Even before we had the table set-up, we'd shoot pool at the bar daily.
Quoted from TimBoch:Very nice room. I really liked the Augusta 12th hole picture. My Amen Corner pictures are in my "clubhouse". [quoted image]
But my version of Amen Corner is in the back yard.
[quoted image]
Thanks. I picked it up from the lady at the end of my block for $5 at a yard sale years ago. I love major golf and especially The Masters. Was strange watching it in November but happy it happened at all this year. Your Clubhouse is awesome!
Quoted from Pahuffman:there's nothing like having a pool table at home to shoot while you're watching TV and relaxing. If I had more time I would be playing in league still. I miss it all the time.
Right? After the wife went up after happy hour last night I put the Monday Night Football game on and shot by myself till after 10pm in between tearing down SF2. We talk about joining a league whenever this pandemic subsides. We did dart league for a few years in the early 2000s and it was fun.
20201124_160243.jpgQuoted from Pahuffman:Joining a pool league is one of the best experiences I have ever had. I went from "okay" to challenging every Chad in the bar for a drink and knowing I'd be able to drink for free all night. You meet some really great people and learn a ton if you pay attention and ask questions to those who are better than you. It's more like chess than anything else, and every game provides a new challenge. Like poker, it takes 5 minutes to learn and a lifetime to master.
Might have to go rejoin the league now...
Also, the Mosconi Cup starts a week from today!
Whenever we were at the bar some random guy would show up challenging drinks every now and then. At first I was like, no just a friendly game. But soon realized I could drink for free on these chumps. Lol. Before covid, I'd stumble home on the cheap regularly.
When I was in high school I hung out at a arcade owned by Asian mafia. They had a carom table and would invite me to play every now and then. I couldn't understand them but learned another cool billiards game. I tell my wife about a billiards game with no pockets and she thinks I'm lying. Ha
Quoted from sunnRAT:Updated the room a bit.

Love all the Sabbath
Quoted from Pinkitten:I really respect people who can do things like finish a basement themselves. I wish I had more skills like that.
I developed my first basement when I was 25 with no skills besides watching/helping my dad whenever we moved into a new house growing up. I've done three more since and it's so rewarding when the project is complete. I've learned how to plumb/wire/hvac a entire home along the way.
When our current house sells, we'll be building this time and I will never have a basement again. So many worries/problems. Single floor/ranch style home only for us. After going thru flooded, molded, molded again basements, NEVER AGAIN! Current blueprints have a 600 sq2 gameroom/bar and a spare bedroom that could be used to store a few games.
Quoted from hlaj78:True story: It was between 1980 and 1982 in Las Vegas. I was playing black jack at Caesar’s Palace. Evel Knievel walked in with two bodyguards and stood at an empty table directly across the pit from me. He proceeded to place a $3,000 bet on each of the six spots on his table. The dealer dealt himself a 20 and Evel lost $18,000 in about 30 seconds. He didn’t say a word and just walked away.
Lol. I've seen basically the same thing happen to my neighbor at a local casino but lower odds. A new table opened and he placed $100 bets at all seven spots. Dealer hit a soft 21 and busted him 2gs with splits and double downs.
Quoted from Mopar:And also, the first official item set up and properly working..
[quoted image][quoted image]
That's awesome! I recently bought a 90s payphone from my hometown and waiting till I can find a authentic booth to put it in. However after seeing your pics I might build a custom booth myself. Well done sir
Quoted from Manhattan:Snooker is awesome. Not so much on an 8' (or is it a 9'?). I find it's more fun on small tables to rack only 10 reds and leave the brown and pink out of the game as well. This will open things up for longer runs and better games. Give it a try, it works.
Thanks for the tip. We set up the snooker balls for the first time in a year and found it cumbersome on the 8' table but it was fun to play something different. Every break I'd send the ball flying off the table so we eliminated the pink ball on breaks. We'll try your setup tonight.
Quoted from Gorgar666:Badass blue Displays.
I love them. Unfortunately I'm just storing it for a friend and it's getting picked up tonight I'm going to miss it's amazing lightshow and the best attract mode I can think of.
Hopefully someday I can bring home one of my own. I've had it since Halloween and still not bored with it and that's rare for me.
Quoted from Mikespinball:Update, pictures of work room, storage area and game room.

Nice work!
Are you guys down south getting gouged like us on lumber? I almost shit myself when I saw a sheet of plywood for a $107 at home depot yesterday. 3x the cost in a year? Absolutely insane
Quoted from Mikespinball:Yes, hosed on lumber! A year ago our lumber package was about 60k and now has tripled. Yuck!
Had 22 sheets of OSB sheeting stolen off the job site the our week. About 2k in our costs. It sucks.
Theft is a huge problem up here also. Every other day it seems I see someone charged with theft on a jobsite on the news ticker. Developers are starting to hire nighttime security for new neighborhood developments. Theifs don't even look at the copper anymore.
Quoted from NoQuarters:I Like the Corvette front end, though it's not an exact sculpt, it sure does give the flavor of that era. Neat piece. Nice decoration.
Thanks. There's a thick glass shelf for it that weighs more then the car. Will definitely need to be attached to studs. Its like 4x larger then the 69 Vette shelf i have.
The guy I bought it from said he brought it back from the Dominion Republic on vacation but never used it and that he paid $300 for it. Still can't believe he sold it to me for only $30!
Quoted from MK6PIN:Different strokes....I like the game designers deciding the color schemes. Added overhead light, dimmable and low white color temp to bring it all out.
Agree 100% Not a fan of pinstadiums at all. Why would you want your playfield whitewashed in a color? This belongs in the rainbow puke thread imo. All the beautiful color of the playfield is gone.

Quoted from DarthPaul:How did you get electric to the Pool Table, I've been wanting to light mine up for years.
Wish I would have installed a outlet under the table for a uv kit. Neon pool seems like such a cool concept to me. When I build my own home a outlet under the table will be a must have.
Quoted from JimWilks:Had an event at my place yesterday so needed to do a bit of a cleanup of the game room. While I was at it, I took some new pics as it's been quite while since I posted my pics here. The room is nothing fancy, just some fun games...
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Amazing collection of games! Why no color dmds?
Quoted from JimWilks:Got a couple of color dmd's back when they first came out and they were VERY expensive. Put them in AFM and MM. I know that they are more economical now and might revisit that idea again.
I just finished my summer project of LED's all of my games. Takes a fair bit of time to replace 10,000 bulbs. But a labor of love...
They're still pricey up here. 30 color dmds would be 15k cdn roughly.
I like to clean under the inserts when changing bulbs and definitely adds a hour or two a game
Quoted from drwicket:Still have a Deadpool coming but wanted to show off my basement.

Quoted from atrainn:Hello best friend! It's Jubeat, a really cool rhythm game, here's a video of some guy playing it who is way better than me:
I'm a huge fan of rhythm games. Probably going to grab a Groovecoaster next.
Man, that's freaking awesome!!! I soooo want to try one now. What's a groovecoaster?
Quoted from trueno92:Been looking a few yrs on and off for this.

Finally found, illuminated with couple boxes of letters.

I found one years ago at a farm auction for $25 except it had coke, diet coke and sprite signs. Cleaned up good and worked but it was too big for my 9'x10' gameroom so I sold/traded it to my mechanic for a few hours labor. Looks better in his large shop with high ceilings
Quoted from Pinzap:While we’re so deep into the subject of gameroom pics, does anyone want to stop over for some ribs this weekend? Got me a new smoker.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Nice unit. Looks awesome! Would for sure if I was closer!

Quoted from MustangPaul:Oh man break the rack on the other end of the table, I've done breaks where the Q has gone flying and it would have taken out a game glass a few times.
After denting the bar fridge a few times we changed ends for breaks. I also figured out how to break without sending the cue airborne.
Quoted from cait001:if you like the idea of pool-- the social aspect, the dexterity, the satisfaction-- but don't like the huge amount of real estate it takes up, might I suggest Bar Billiards? http://pinballnovice.blogspot.com/2021/07/a-note-on-bar-billiards.html
here's the video from my link:
It's only a bit more space than a pinball machine and fit nicely with a line of games
Looks interesting. Anyone else mentality building one while watching?
Quoted from cait001:I have more pics of Bar Billiards in this post: https://pinballnovice.blogspot.com/2021/10/bagatelle-notes-pigeon-hole-trou-madam.html
(scroll halfway down)
and if you want more context on how bar billiards actually has a common ancestor with pinball, here's a broader overview I did on 'things that get called bagatelle': http://pinballnovice.blogspot.com/2021/10/on-naming-bagatelles.html
If you put bar billiards in a line-up you might want to leave room for you to shimmy up one side to set the skittles and clear any errant balls, but really you could just lean over and clear any balls with a billiards bridge (used like a rake) and using one of those claw-hand tools to set the skittles (those wooden mushroom-looking things) up from the front.
I found this listing and it says the table is approx 72"x 36" https://www.antiques-atlas.com/antique/e_j_riley_bar_billiard_table_slate_bed_solid_oak/as932a006
so it's about 7" wider than a pinball machine, and 21" longer, but would probably fit neatly in most people's lineups.
(table dimensions can vary per manufacturer, but not wildly)
some tables (like the one I just linked) have a score board along the back that you would need to physically access, but most tables I've seen don't have a mounted scoreboard like that, and a bar would typically have a separated scoreboard elsewhere. You can keep tabs on your phone or a piece of paper.
this one is also 72": https://www.mastersofgames.com/cat/pub/bar-billiards-tables-new.htm
separate scoreboard: https://www.mastersofgames.com/cat/pub/bar-billiards-scoreboards.htm
You can check out masterofgames.com for parts to build your own. Looks like they sold nice oak, coin op tables for roughly 3000 pounds.
I found a few table top ones for $700 pounds but think a full size table would be the way to go. I think I could build one for around a grand. Maybe a 2022 project? Still have a old bank shuffle board to restore first.
Quoted from Daditude:Ok...this is a incredible![quoted image][quoted image]
Nice cooler
Quoted from punkin:Thanks, have one on order and i'm pretty nervous about it as i've never played one. just going off the reviews i see here, people either seem to love it or just lump it in with the other Stern pop outs.
Getting over the Sterns, deadpool is a cracker, as is The walking dead, but all the late model ones just seem the same to me.
My problem is i can't be bothered learning all the rules of all the games and want the machine to teach me how to play it with clear call outs and clear blinky lights.
I feel the same way. I'd stick with system 11s, 80s and 90s Williams and Bally's. Only a handful of 2000s and newer games would be in my gameroom if I had a expansive collection or unlimited funds.
Quoted from PinPickle:Long time lurker in this thread… 2 more months until our home is finished. But I have some progress on what was supposed to be the kids room. It’s now the family arcade. 4 pins, Chexx, table top arcade and a multicade. Led lights in the trays. Carpet was installed today. [quoted image][quoted image]
Love the carpet. Very trippy
Quoted from PinPickle:Mildly concerned when My friends get over-served.

I'm usually pretty good with blueprints but is there no entrance to the theater room? The one door leads to a furnace room.
Quoted from Waldo:Get busy living, or get busy dying....We are finally tossing caution to the wind and gonna attempt to build in these crazy times....We are calling the project the ShawShack Redemption (last name and it literally feels like a scary murder shack). Might start its own thread of the build process if folks are interested...

and this much more basic one is in Calgary https://www.kijiji.ca/v-toys-games/calgary/classic-bar-billiard-table-excellent-condition-enjoy-at-home/1599031938
[quoted image]
I bring these up because apparently there are no manufacturers in North America, so your only option would be a used one like this, or shipping from overseas. While not a perfect swap-in for a pinball machine, they would fit in many pin lineups that have some space wiggle-room.
I'd buy that one in Calgary but never get down that way. Wish I had some family down there. Bar billiards would be a fun addition to the gameroom.

I've owned multiple Foosball tables over the years and they never get played. I agree on the air hockey if you have the space for one.
My first 8'x10' gameroom with the wife had a Cooper air hockey and Foosball tables in it. Air hockey got played by friends all the time. Foosball never unless I pestered the wife.
Bonus of air hockey over a pool table is you can cram it against a wall to save space.

I'd have the most killer game room if I had money. I built mine with nothing and it shows. There will never be a row of 10 games but as long as I have a pool table, dart board, a pinball machine or two and music, I'm more then happy. I'll live vicariously thru you pinheads with the killer collections and gamerooms. Keep the pics coming!
Question for the slot machine owners. What do you use for stands? I'm picking up a Bally quarter slot this weekend with no stand and open to ideas. More unique the better. Have a couple beer/whiskey barrels I'm considering. Will have to be cut open and reinforced though to support weight

But like Jorge5240 this is the place for it and if I can help others with ideas, I’m very happy to.
How many sq2 is your basement? Looks like around 4000? Amazing space BTW. Like others have said, I like the clean open spaces you created. Pickled Pub sign is awesome. Carpet in arcade is sick also. Great job

Is that Heineken globe light glass or plastic?
Quoted from JBtheAVguy:Yes...but there's only one Neil Peart...drummer of all drummers. Yup...I said it.
John Bonham would like a word... And Dave Grohl...
Quoted from PinPickle:Lol Dave Grohl.
I like Foo and hope they make the pin. But Dave is no great and he would be the first to tell ya. Incredible musician though.
Nobody has hit the skins harder since Bonham. Closest to that sound John produced. Dave even has Zeppelin tattoo. Was sad to hear Foo is going to continue. Was hoping for a new Grohl project were he'd get back on the skins again
Quoted from Aurich:Could the drummer talk please be taken to a new thread? This is the game room discussion, and it’s a great thing to have without the lengthy off topic chatter.
I’m sure it would be a lovely solo topic for those who have strong feelings about those musicians and bands.
I’ve sold most of my pins, my garage is mostly my laser cutter, my CNC, and my candy cab collection, but I’m starting to feel the itch to maybe go back up to 4 pins.

Is that bowl of ramen noodles neon sign right of the pins?

The framed Silver Bullet backglass is sweet. I was bidding on one years ago at a Yegpin silent auction.
Quoted from Aurich:I think it was an edition of 25 if I'm remembering right, I bought it direct from Brian in 2015.
He did the artwork for Yegpin for 3 years I think. I see a lot of his posters hanging up in local guys gamerooms and I have some vip lanyards in a drawer somewhere.
I like the looks of the Silver Bullet pin as well. Very slick looking

And hope they don't come broken. Not a fan of the Chinese stuff but the price is good on them. 75% cheaper then made in USA on average I find.
Half of my signs were bought at auction and half on local buy and sells/garage sales. Half needed repairs also. The kokanee foot was $20 broken and the Budweiser bottle was $5 broken at garage sales. Both costed $100 to fix.
Really wish I kept all the neons I've had over the years. I miss this Heineken sign I had most. Have a perfect spot for it now.

You should checkout the neon sign thread and Ryan Claytors awesome pinball and gameroom designs. Or the huge jukebox! If I had thousands of spare monies laying around, I'd definitely go all out on a big custom neon.

I also had to keep the staircase open to make the pool cues shots fit. Also makes the room feel larger then if I had just built a solid wall

Signs look real nice by the way.
Apparently he's a Canadian and lives in Canada
