Finally got my basement finished up after a couple months of work. Starting to get the games back. Only have the Badcats pinball at the moment, but going to be adding more over time. Started on the arcade side of things, have around 35+ of those.

I got the carpet from: http://www.flagshipcarpets.com/index.blm

Price wise it wasn't bad. I ended up getting around 112 sq/yards @ $13.49. Delivery price wasn't that much. I had a local carpet company (who used to carry Flagship) take the delivery and do install. They also did a small install of remnant in my wife's drum room. I was very happy with the overall experience with them: both Flagship and the local installer. The only small issue with Flagship is their sales person can be slow to get back, so it'll take a couple emails or a phone call to get through. However, besides that I have nothing but positive reviews.

    Quoted from Reality_Studio:

Yeah, Caldwell has one called "Space Explorer" which is cool, but the carpet that dude has I think is even cooler. Just can't seem to find it anywhere.

I've never seen that pattern anywhere before, either; which is a big reason why I went with it. I also didn't like the other space pattern as much (that has more of a purple nebula to it) as it was too busy. It also has a smaller pattern repeat. The one I got has a repeat of 72 x 72, so it doesn't seem as close on the repeat. The other was 36 x 36.

I'm not going to get too crazy with the basement. My first order of business is getting LED lighting instead of the fluorescent I have now. The last owner rigged everything in a "interesting" way. After that, I was thinking about blacking the ceiling!

I highly recommend the route of painting the ceiling black. If you'd like to see it in person, I'm just in Mukwonago; finished my room up about a month ago. I'd also add in on the side of painting before doing anything else. Makes masking the room and doing all the prep work a lot easier. And less to worry about with paint going everywhere.

We also did "Penn & Teller's Smoke and Mirrors", but even though the game was finished, it was never released - long story there (Google "Desert Bus" if you are interested). I only did a little bit of testing/debugging on that game though.

Oh wow, that's awesome! I love Penn and Teller just for desert bus. I love explaining that to people who aren't familiar with it. Most of the time they think I'm making it up, lol.

Are you aware of the "desert bus for hope" charity?

Finally got around to a small project that's been on my list for a while. Added a wired connection on Cuba Libre instead of running off the battery. Also put in a splitter and UV led strip on the bottom for helping get a bit more glow on the carpet.

    Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

How does that Cuba Libre game work? I’ve always been fascinated by it

It's a figure 8 for the playfield, manually load a ball and shoot it. Try to get it on your opponents side. There are 3 gobble holes per side, and once the game is over there's a manual leveler to release the balls in the goal.

Only power is from a battery for an led strip in the body and head, but it didn't last super long.
