    Quoted from Deaconblooze:

This is my favorite thread on pinside, by a long shot. It's been a while since I've contributed. Here's my mostly current setup.

The basement looks great Dave! A lot of nice changes since the last time I was over. Sad to see that you don't have STTNG up and running yet. Hopefully you will experience its greatness soon

    Quoted from Deaconblooze:

Slightly off topic, but I just added a golf simulator setup to my garage. I took over the third stall, it's quite difficult to really get a decent picture of it, but it's a 10x10x10 enclosure. I'm currently waiting on my new simulator to arrive, so it's mostly used for TV at the moment. I just hosted the fight last weekend, cigars + boxing was a great combo!

That's awesome! Next time I'm over we'll have to play a round. I've played these in bars but you're the first person I know that will have a simulator at home.

Here's some pics of my gameroom/theater/toddler playroom. Used to be a just a gameroom/theater but now I share it with my 19 mo old son. He stores his trucks and bounce house under the pins. Still a great bachelor basement and the room gets a lot of use by the two of us!

Besides re-painting and re-carpeting my gameroom in the past few months, I've also turned over about half the games in my collection since I last posted in this thread so I figured it was time to post some new pics! I'm pushing the limit of how many games I can fit comfortably but sure I could still find a way to sneak one more game in if I needed to

    Quoted from JayDee:

Oh boy can they get out of hand very quickly. Im converting a garage spot for mine and there’s a lot of components if you want to really trick it out. The sim, computer to control it, projector, hitting screen, mat to hit off, netting to create the stall, etc. Could easily add up to $5000 without batting an eye.

And $5K is about the same price as a Homepin Thunderbirds NIB. I'd rather have the golf simulator

Looking for some advice here. I've been talking with a builder about building a new home. The current blueprints show a dedicated gameroom of 14'3 x 19'10. I think this should be able to fit 2 rows of 7 machines leaving around a 53" aisle between games up the middle. Is this enough, or should I try to have them push the wall out another foot or so (to 15'3"x 19'10"). thanks!

    Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

Push it a foot. The last thing you want is that the games fit nicely but none of the humans do. Make sure 10 people can fit in there comfortably - Will you add any seating?

Knowing how quickly I tend to fill up available space, I have a feeling I'll just be using the area for pins. Maybe a stool or two. I'm sure over time I could even spill out a few more games (maybe a Chexx or a vid or two) into the family room if needed. The area on the other side of the wall is storage and what would be my pinball work-room. It would be nice to have room to have a few project games in there with enough room to work on them. I don't want to take over too much of this storage/workroom space, but I think pushing the wall out another foot would probably be a good compromise.

    Quoted from zpinman370:

Another thought is stairs from the garage to the basement. I have this in my house and it's a godsend when you don't have to worry about dragging things thru the font door and damaging floors or walls. Just my 2cents

That was something I considered as that is a great option to have, but I figured that since the basement is a walkout I should be able to avoid stairs about 9-10 months of the year when there isn't snow on the ground. For the inside staircase I made sure to make it a straight shot with no walls or quick turnarounds to worry about.

    Quoted from zpinman370:

Walkouts are the best that is one thing I wish my lot would have been able to accommodate.
    Good Luck with the build!!

Thank you! It's not a sure thing yet. Just preliminary talks so far and I should get an estimate on cost within the next week. -could be scary with the cost of building materials. And of course I need to list and sell my current place. I'm optimistic though!

    Quoted from yaksplat:

You should be able to get 16 games in there without the heads touching.[quoted image]

Thanks! that's nice to see it mapped out. I went by measurements on some of my Classic Bally heads for width, but I suppose I should be able to get at least 15 if I keep my Bally's on one side and keep the modern games with narrower heads on the other side.

    Quoted from Zablon:

I've been doing some renovating and discovered that wood prices are 114% up over 2019. Absolutely worst time to be building lol. Sad thing is they'll just keep going up.

Yeah it's not great. From the builders I've talked to they've estimated that it costs about 15% more overall to build now vs. a year ago with all things considered. The saving grace is that used prices are also up 10-15% due to demand and lack of supply. Low interest rates also make the pill a bit easier to swallow.

I'm a couple months away from closing on my new home. Here's the current state of my 16x20 gameroom. The room will 4 can lights and two diffused led lights in the center portion of the room. The plan is to only use the can lights when working on games. I also made sure to get 3 dedicated 20amp circuits for thr games.

Moved into our new construction home 2 weeks ago and finally getting to the point of setting up my new gameroom. Still have a lot to do but at least we can play some pinball! I still have to setup my Harlem which is at a buddy's place and have a GNRLE coming sometime in January.

    Quoted from BorgDog:

Nice lineup! I see you have one of the Alien Stars with the skinny coin door, wonder how many of those there were.

Thanks! I'm not sure how many have the skinny door but I did hear that one of the former owners' of my Alien Star was Brett Favre's dad (the late Irv Favre).

    Quoted from Pin-Pilot:

    Interesting ceiling lights.

I also have 4 can lights in the room but wanted some dim-able lights in the center of the room with good light dispersion so that I can turn the can lights off when playing games. It works out well and I have no glare from the room lighting when playing.

Got a couple more pins added and got some of my game room decor hung on the walls vs. when I moved in a few weeks ago. Michelangelo is holding down the spot for GNRLE which should arrive in January.
