Well it was 2 years ago this month that I bought my STTNG pin. Have no basement so my pin has been relegated to a small alcove in my dirty garage. About a month ago I bought all the parts to do a full teardown, new rubbers, wax, new Silverjet balls but I didn't want to tackle the job out in the garage. Out of the blue my wife says to me "why don't you move it in here?". So finally today I got around to moving my STTNG into its new home. My wife no longer uses her PC since she uses her laptop upstairs so I am thinking its time to build a smaller desk for 1 PC and make room for 2 more pins.

The kids love the arrangement and hopefully with it now in the house I can get my wife to play it. She played it the first 2 days I had it and that was it. This room was originally going to be the "entertainment" room and then kids came along and it became the "kids" room. They no longer need this big room as their toys have consolidated and moved into their bedrooms so its time to make the game room properly. Here is the start. The room is actually 14'x22' so there is a bit I can do with it.

BTW, that window looks awful bright but outside of it is a 16'x16' covered patio so direct sunlight barely comes in that window. When the sun comes up in the mornings it will come through at an angle that hits the opposite wall for an hour or two but should never hit the pin. With the cabinet sitting below the window sill, no direct sunlight, and wooden blinds that will remain closed I don't think I should have a problem. Any suggestions to anything else I might do to protect the pin or should I be ok?

My game room is pretty limited in size but I can't complain since I didn't have one just a few months ago. STTNG is my only pin so far and I am hoping to pickup a couple more this year. The Mame machine is temporary, once I am finished sorting the rom library down to a nice small selection then it will go for sale to fund more projects including a custom built mame more to my liking. The bartop in the pictures is currently a mame cabinet but that is going to get changed this week to a dedicated NES cabinet. Both desktop PCs and the desk are on their way out I think. The wife only uses her laptop now and since I don't really PC game anymore I think its time for a laptop for myself. Then those PCs will go to mame cabs or jukeboxes. Last is the English Mark darts I just picked up. I last had one over 10 years ago and it stopped being played, we will see how this one does. If I am the only one playing it then it will probably leave like the last one did.

I could but one wall has a large bank of windows and the back door to my patio, the opposite has the heat run. The wall you cant see has the back door opening into it and the door to the laundry room. Its a decent sized room but its a little tougher to configure unless I just want to make a wall of pins and cover the windows. I don't really want to do that. The house itself is too small for our family of 4 so we are currently looking. A LARGE gameroom is a prerequisite so I can wait.

Here is my newest addition to my gameroom. This is my latest restoration. An op had drilled out the original panel and switched it over to a Tekken Tag Tournament. He also removed the original Q Sound amp. The monitor in it had been left on with vertical collapse so after repairing the chassis there was a nice burn line across the center of the tube.

Made a new custom control panel and a member on KLOV had the scans for the control panel and marquee. Put another WG monitor in that I had here and found a Q Sound amp to bring it back to its stereo goodness. The artwork was added last night and the only things left are the custom bezel I am waiting for and T-molding on the control panel. I have Super SF2, Super SF2 Turbo, Street Fighter Hyper Fighting, Marvel vs Capcom, Xmen vs Street Fighter, and Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter boards for it. Along with my STTNG Pin, this is one game that will probably never leave.

Finally picked up my second pin this week, JP. I did some rearranging tonight and made room to move it inside. I don't have much room for a game room in my current house but I am making due. I realized once I got it in here today that if I move the bartop and the dart machine I have room for another 2 pins =)

The worst part is that I have a 4 player Konami cabinet in my garage that is being turned into a 4 Player mame cabinet and now I have no clue where that monster is going to go. Its actually a little smaller than my SSF2T but damn, I picked some giants.

My gameroom got a little make over today to make room for a couple new additions. Jurassic Park left a couple weeks ago and I picked up a NBA Jam Tournament Edition that I have been restoring. Its almost complete so I moved it in from the garage today. The jukebox next to STTNG is for sale so it's just keeping the space warm for another pin very soon.

Generally $400-800 would be the right price. NBA Jam and Simpsons are easy to find. TMNT isn't bad but Turtles in Time is a highly sought after board, so you could pay for that one.

    #4023 9 years ago

If its a regular TMNT then you can pick them up all day long in the $400-$500 range for a nice one. A Turtles in Time board can run you $300-$400 so adjust accordingly. If you were offered $2500 for yours, you should have taken it, bought another and picked up a pin to go with it. Maybe in Texas this stuff is hard to come buy, or you buy strictly from restorers but it's nowhere near a $2500 game.

    #4025 9 years ago

Well let me know when you need a TMNT. I'll buy it for $400, ship it for $350 and only charge you $2000 for it

Remind me never to move to Texas

The latest pin added to my game room is a new Metallica LED Pro. Everything else happens to be seriously neglected since Met came in.

Nice, where did you get that "Pinball: A Game of Skill" poster? That is pretty cool.

Wow. Good job fitting 5 pins in there but damn, that's some tight quarters.

Just closed on my house this week and I have a blank slate to work with. My basement walks out to the driveway so I have easy access which is great. It's currently split into 3 rooms, the first being a 700 sq foot finished section with a full bath. It's dated but will work for now while I work on the other sections. The other 2 sections total about 1100 sq feet. I am going to frame in the utilities and then remove the wall opening up the other 2 rooms, connecting them by a door to the finished room. Eventually the back 2 rooms will be dedicated for my pins/arcades while the current room will be remodeled into the entertainment room and bar.

Sold my STTNG yesterday and paid for a Ghostbusters Pro, so I did a little rearranging of the room yesterday. I have a 1500sq foot walkout basement that will be fully dedicated to the game room. Right now this is the 700 sq foot finished section and the other 800 sq foot is my arcade workshop. Currently this room still has our 65" TV and our old living room furniture. Once I get some new furniture the TV will be going upstairs. I will probably get something smaller like a 42" and some "gaming" seating for the kids consoles and keep that down here.

I had water issues last winter and I just got done putting new drainage tile around the house. My driveway still slopes towards the garage so I need to resolve that last issue before I go full on with renovations. I will probably wait to renovate until next spring so I can make sure all the water issues are resolved.

This is what I have right now. There is a Capcom Big Blue being restored as a Street Fighter II CE, a Dragons Lair 2 being restored as a Daphne machine, and a 4 Player Konami cab being restored as a 4 player Mame for my kids in the back room. Ghostbusters should be here in July and then I think I will focus on some System 11 games that I want like Cyclone and Swords of Fury.

    Quoted from bkaelin:

Just remodeled, and laid down new vinyl plank flooring, new sheetrock and paint. I love my new space.

How do you like the Vinyl Plank? I was planning to carpet my basement but to do so I was going to put down a subfloor. A co-worker has installed flooring as a business for a long time and he keeps trying to talk me into vinyl plank. My concern is standing on it for long periods of time vs the comfort of carpet.
