Never thought Magic cards could be that valuable. Learn something new everyday.

Hell, Even years ago beta cards would fetch big money. Mox Jet used to command big time money.

I'd think even if you had one airhockey table in a room. It's considered a game room. It's the room where game or games are stored. So if you have any game sitting in a room all the time, it's a game room.

    Quoted from balt:

I bought this 3D art at MGC for my gameroom, but I like it so much I keep it in my office. Measures 16x12x2.5
It's like a 3D poster but without needing the glasses.

oooo, they are doing pinball BG's now. I love the arcade stuff they do.

    Quoted from Daditude:

All these game rooms look so incredible! As a bonus, I can show these rooms with 100 pinballs to my wife, and it makes me seem like I have mine under control Congrats on the incredible mancaves! and please keep up the pics (just in case I need to keep sharing them with my wife)
I, on the other hand, have a gameroom that looks like a firehazard a lot of times because I tinker and fix pins and arcades frequently. Here are a few pics of how those gamerooms (like mine) look:
    [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

nonsense. How can that be a fire hazard, when most of that stuff will be carried out quickly if the house is on fire. It would be the cleanest room in the entire house if there was a fire. It would all be sitting in the front yard.

Referencing an older post, I finally feel ready to reveal some of my first ever game room pictures. Not entirely finished but getting there. I got the 4' live edge bar from a guy on etsy. $250.

New pin room not looking so good right now...
    [quoted image]

Oof. What the hell happened there? Pipes or weather?

    #18180 2 years ago
    Quoted from jaytrem:

Thanks everyone. Bit of bad pinball news, the Cyclone fell over sometime over night. Very disappointed, that was my first game and all time favorite. It was in excellent condition, probably not so much anymore. I'll let it dry out and see what can be done. At least the backglass was upstairs.
The rest of the machines stayed high and dry. Even the Disco Fever was high enough, I wasn't so sure for a while. I think my mistake with the Cyclone was that I put it on some This End Up furniture. Turns out they're very buoyant.
The room itself it a total mess. Things were looking so good just on the last page of this thread. Oh well, time to get back to work. Water still isn't gone yet, but plenty to do.

you might be ok. PAPA, managed to salvage cactus canyon completely under water.

I posted some a lot earlier in the thread. But here are some more older pictures from my tournament this July.
and here is a video walkthrough I did sometime back. Game configuration is slightly different now than back then, but still pretty similar.

    Quoted from Bundy:

How can you not have a Black Rose in your collection?

Black rose was one of the first machines I restored. Great looking game, but a clunky piece of crap with very one sided rules. Problem is, most pirate themed machines are terrible. Stern one is just not fun. JJP's rules are terrible and ruin the great look and layout. captain hook is uneventful, hook lacks in the rules department.

    #18543 2 years ago
    Quoted from kyle5574:

I like how you have Metal Man next to Iron Maiden. Metal man and metal woman.

yes, that is due to my tournament. Which I kind of do a mini 2 bank of games like pinburgh. With an early SS with a modern/dmd style game. Each bank has a theme. hence why stars phoenix and TBL are together. Alien poker and RFM, JP and TM, GNR and Sexy girl...ect.

    #18547 2 years ago

looks interesting. but right now, i'm on hold for importing anything. Shipping prices have shot up to stupid levels and our dollar is weak. So it's not practical to buy overseas anymore currently. That's why anything, that is already over here, is worth more currently.

    #18551 2 years ago
    Quoted from JeffF:

Man, that one carving almost looks like Scully. You should get an X-Files to put near it.

look at you with the jokes. sorry, if I had room for 1000 games, I still wouldn't own an Xfiles.

    #18559 2 years ago
    Quoted from pacman11:

Very cool love the theme, where did you find that wall paper at I may use that on one of my walls.

it's not wall paper. it's actual textured wood paneling that looks and feels like real boards.

    #18562 2 years ago

ahhh, the mural. Yes, it took me awhile to find the exact mural I wanted for the end. I initially wanted a straight shot down the hull of a vintage sail ship. but every mural shot I found, wasn't straight on and wouldn't have given the perception correctly. So ended up going with the barrel stacks instead.

    #18572 2 years ago
    Quoted from mof:

    Proving once again,
It's not the size of the collection that matters, it's what you do with the space...
Consistent art direction and attention to detail!
I think some guys should hire you to design their spaces...

I thought of opening a business to do that. Plan out spaces, and do theme integration. I had several themes I was thinking of doing before settling on the one I did. Steampunk, forest, or Sci Fi space ship interior. More budget you would have to work with. the more cool effect toys I could incorporate. There are still things I want to add to mine. (Creeky ship sounds that come on once the lights are turned on) and swaying lanterns that would sway in unison to give the effect of a rocking ship.

Tore out 1/2 the 2nd floor of this old addition on my house and turned the whole thing into a game room with a loft. My favorite addition is the animated neon kung-fu sign hanging from the loft. Picked up a bunch of new games for the line-up in the last couple weeks and I'm really liking where I'm at with it right now. BTW this is the main entrance to my house LOL

    Quoted from Parkshow30:

Not everyone is a full on pin head like us who will play for hours on end standing.

Well you know most on pinside barely play their games at all. Hence why we have so many games that are years old with only 300 games on them.

    #19550 2 years ago

I think most on here, buy for a status thing. People who seem to own only JJP games, and Stern LE's , seem to buy for bragging rights, but don't actually play them. If they did, they wouldn't own most JJP games.

    #19604 2 years ago
    Quoted from punkin:

    Nice space.
The two that interest me in that lineup are Big Lebowski and Tron. Can you rate tham and describe the gameplay for me as against, say, Deadpool which i am very familiar with?
Bit worried that BL is all hype because of the rarity and the connection to the movie.
I don't care what a theme is, i only care that the game is fun, and the theme is fully immersive.

I didn't think the movie was all that great. but the game blew me away. production value and gameplay is very good. Made me want to get one. Especially the new ones that are built better and more reliable.

I also have a graveyard of old computer towers that I don't have the heart to throw away. Some were mine over the decades and some were given to me. I figure I can always use pieces of them when needed.

    #19835 2 years ago
    Quoted from MrMikeman:

Agreed although sometimes itks just not possible. I ordered a P3 machine with Weird Al. Unfortunately not only is it difficult to try weird al (very few out in the US) but there aren’t any P3s locally that I know of even though the company has been around for 10 years. Can’t even try the machine. Had to make a leap of faith. An over 20kCAD leap.

you will not be disappointed. I've been following P3 closely over those years, even before there wasn't any games even being thought of. It's been the most innovative thing in all of pinball, and has only gotten better over the years.

All games are finally out of paid storage and 'under one roof'... the main room (which is currently just used as a store for games that are acting as a working platform for working on the ceiling) has just had the backlighting finished that will provide rear lighting for a stack of playfields... I've got space for 98 playfields up there (14 rows of 7). That's the next job!

looks great. but you don't have the best music pinball machine made? Iron Maiden. Most of those bands are better than iron maiden musically. but as pinball machines go. Iron maiden is superior by a longshot to all of those.

    #20853 1 year ago

there is a video of it on youtube. Pretty good ideas happening in it.

i wonder how much that fog effect connector pins. I know stuff like that, likes to settle and stick to pins.

    #20884 1 year ago
    Quoted from AlexRogan84:

How does everyone do their "order" of games? Age? Manufacturer? Theme?
My main four are in the order I remembered / loved them as a kid... Getaway, Funhouse, Diner, Party Zone.

I split all my games through the gameroom room evenly. So early SS, EMs are paired with DMD/LCD games. So when people come over and play, or host leagues or tournaments, I don't have people just clumped up by the new stuff. They are evenly distributed through the gameroom. Plus my annual tournament, has a mini pinburgh type of setup, so my games are paired up in banks of 2 with a common theme, with a DMD/LCD game paired with an Early SS or EM.

    Quoted from Days:

    Nice line up!
What is the height and also the distance of the walls of your gameroom?
Am building mine but haven't yet moved the pinball machine inside, but i think it will be more or less the same height. ( 7.21ft / 2,20m )
and for the walls i have 4,20m / 13.77ft wide so it will be ok to remove the glass from the pinball machine

yes, you want at least 14ft across from each other, so people can walk through when playing across from each other. it's tight even at 14 ft. 16ft is better if you can do it.

where the hell is this at? I'd buy another in a second for this price if it runs and drives.

yes the speedometers usually only go to 85, but i've had mine over 100 several times. My speedometer goes to 140 on the one I currently have.

    #21073 1 year ago

no it isn't, because the BTTF machine is a pile of dog shit.

    Quoted from Ballderdash:

    That’s why it’s being remade in 2023!

if it's made by JJP, it will be a pile of dogshit all over again. Time will repeat itself.

    Quoted from Ballderdash:

What makes you think JJP would have the license? It was a Data East property. Gary Stern has an autographed BTTF poster in his office. He dressed up as Doc Brown in a promotional ad. I think it’s safe to say Stern is all over it. Maybe with Kapow.

DE also had the GNR license and look how the second one turned out. DE one is GOLD. JJP is version is trash.

Stern also had POTC......and then JJP made one.

So just because DE,SEGA or STern had a license...doesn't mean JJP isn't going to try for it.

    Quoted from JBtheAVguy:

    Wow...someone doesn't like JJP

if they actually made a good game, i'd be for it. But most of the games, the layout and rules suck. Most of the rules are overdone to the point, where there isn't a point. Every shot counts for something. All slop accepted. Too much shit, to the point where you just don't give a shit anymore. The only game they have that is somewhat intuitive is dialed in. And the layout just doesn't do it for me. POTC has a great look and layout. But the rules are so overdone, you just stop giving a shit about trying to figure anything out. GNR is a shitshow all around. When you use the inserts to do animations, instead of pointing you in the directions you are suppose to go....you have failed...and badly. There is a reason you see at last 20 GNRs for sale at any given moment.

I see my post in that snapshot. Can we go back to talking about De Loreans again?

I love secret passages. Wish I could fit them in my theme. I Kind of have a secret wall that hides the fridge, but would be awesome to have another area hidden by secret passage.

no, mine doesn't say anything unfortunately. But the nuka cola things light up when the door is opened.

    Quoted from Pinkitten:

Adjacent to mine…wouldn’t this movie make a viable horror pinball title??? I can see lots of content possibilities…interview with Mr. Ullman; Danny Explores The Overlook/The Twins; The Maze; Room 237; The Gold Room/Lloyd the Bartender; Delbert Grady; Here’s Johnny!

    Quoted from ramegoom:

I have removed the connection to the tilt bobs on ALL of my pins. You can't tilt them if you tried.
I've been a hard-core habitual nudger since I was 12 years old, and when I get the machines going, they lose their spot in the lineup, wind up several inches away from where they belong.
The nudging....just can't seem to stop.
    [quoted image]

all my games have tight tilts. I don't want to get in the habit of nudging aggressively, in case I play in leagues and tournaments. Plus I have a lot of top tier players, play on my games, so I can't have them having hour long ball times. So tilts are tight. outlanes are wide open, or side posts even removed. and games are steep. If you put up a record high score at my house. You are a good player.

    Quoted from I-Closed-Wolskis:

Added some lickable wallpaper to the game room, but in a way, isn't all wallpaper lickable?
    [quoted image]

so does that means it's flavored, kind of like a scratch n sniff sticker, but flavor induced?
