Cool, funny how you can still find old games like that. Hope ya get them running soon.

    #3852 9 years ago
    Quoted from Aurich:

Put me in the CA using my garage club. Real estate is expensive here, some of you people in cheaper states would cry if you knew what I paid for my 1200 sq ft house.
7 in the garage, two inside in my home office (the EMs).

I have family in L.A., CA and it is a crime what you pay for houses. Looked at real estate books on my last visit and my 2600 sq ft house on 2 acres in SC would be a million in LA. I don't get it...

My sister sold her 1000 sq ft house in San Francisco for 500,000 moved to coast of NC and built her 2 story brick dream house for $250,000 and retired.

Rant over. Now back to gamerooms...

What is everyone's preferred lighting for pinball machines. Some machines are really not bright enough to use in the dark. Some flash lights so much its blinding in the dark. I have been assuming some soft ambient lighting would be good but I do not want glare off the glass. What does everyone here do?

    #3854 9 years ago

I use uv over and under the games lighting the uv carpet, lit pf's on the walls and ceiling and I just put 48, 30cm rain leds hanging from the ceiling, 2 plasma disks, 2, 4x4x4 Hypnocubes, an 8inch plasma ball, 2 small "Ford" neons, a lit Star Wars sign and a neon beer sign. With all that plus all 16 pins and 3 arcade games lit up it's not really dark at all. But the black walls and ceiling help make it "seem" dark.

I agree with MustangPaul that neon is the way to go. A few well placed neon signs look great and give the perfect amount of lighting!

Dang man we have 5 pins in common. You have more neons then me and they really do add much more color to a room.

How do your friends in Edmonton react to your framed Calgary Flames jersey?

    They laugh.

Then I remind them of the Oilers performance over the past 8 years.

    They cry.

Nice. Just think how broke you'd be if you had pins instead of the table.

    #3868 9 years ago

Absolutely! I was getting to the point where I thought I wanted the whole wall to be pins... actually, I still do - but I would be super broke. The pool table reins me in a little

    Hi Everyone!
Newer to the hobby compared to most if you on here but have it bad for pinball!
Great pics of all the gamerooms! I noticed several of you on this post are in Southern California. I've been looking for people to maybe have a league night or possibly join a group. If you can help me scratch that itch without buying more pins I'd be very grateful as I've run out of room!

You still have one of the coolest gamerooms. I remember yours way back with the water heater tank painted to look like it's part of the decor.

I think your setup could be considered to be amongst the best on the planet, truly. Living the dream you are... right now. Wow. I would buy a plane ticket just to spend an evening there and kick it with you.

That's just 1 of John's walls. His game room is 4X's more amazing!

    #3892 8 years ago

Then we need to see 4X the pics please. A game-room like that deserves it's own website.

    https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/game-room-photos-and-video#post-820033

    Quoted from blimpey:

I finally got around to taking some photos, and a video of my game room. I've been working on it for the past couple of years.
I had sold almost my entire collection of 18 pins 3 1/2 years ago to help buy this house. I am still rebuilding, but doubt that MM, CV, MB, AFM, will make it back with what has happened with prices since I sold them.

Mine is nothing special since I moved and downsized my collection. Still haven't got around to really setting up the game room either, so pinball hasn't been a priority. I do have more room than I did before and a walkout basement with no stairs makes adding more machines a breeze if I get back into this hobby some day.

Some day I need to finish my bar back too... after I build a shop. So much to do....

Playing Fish Tales next to the wood stove on a cold winter's night sure is nice though.

Well if you go, just make sure you cover it for the rest of us.

And as far as the second story goes, I'm in partial agreement with MustangPaul, but if you decide to do a second story, make it loft style so it still has the feel of being open (plus I think it'd be cool to have a drink and survey the room below from above).

    Quoted from MustangPaul:

Ceilings are 8'4" in the basement. I put them in the 12x13 room with the sliding door until I can figure out how I want to setup the basement. I promised my wife a few other projects before I get to work on the arcade. The room next to it is 22x12 but I bought my boys a ping pong table which takes up most of that room. When I collect the rest of my pins from my friends houses I'll probably have to take over the bigger room bc I don't think they will all fit in the smaller room.
