My modest 150 sq ft. You can only see the corner of the CP from this shot, but there's a MAME in the corner in a Wms High Impact cabinet. I can squeeze in one more pin - search currently underway - and 2 pins if I get rid of the MAME cabinet, which is a decision I struggle with almost every day.

That looks really nice. Mine is bigger but I sure do wish I had your head room. Nothing makes a room look bigger then a tall ceiling. Well done.

swampfire, I was looking at your wall of framed prints and thinking "man, he should pick up that framed Fathom piece from Pinball Life, it would fit perfectly" and then I grinned when I scrolled down and saw that you had the real thing covered.

I wish I could find a Fathom in SoCal!

I think they were like $200 at World Market. I'm glad I didn't spend a lot, because our black cat used them as a scratching post. But they are very comfy.

The story behind the "Anglerfish Goes Green" print is pretty cool. It came up when I did an image search for "anglerfish", and I knew right away I wanted that sucker on my wall. I emailed the artist, Greg Newbold. He doesn't have a "storefront", and he was friendly about my overly-solicitous request for a print. Once he had it made, he asked me to email him pics of the guy in his new habitat. That was the main reason I took all the pics tonight. He said he plans to add a blog entry soon, and he thought the pins were really cool. Here's his site:

    http://www.gregnewbold.com/portfolio.php

I would love to make a game someday using "outsider" art. These guys are all talented and friendly, and they love pinball. I think the time is coming when art will sell games as much or more than the layout. MET, Captain Nemo and WOOLY are the best examples of this that I've seen lately.

That is one classy room you have the swampfire. Mine is just the opposite, dark with black light.

Nice! A tiki-themed game room is my dream! Someday I'd like to add about 400 sq ft to my house, decorate it like this (see below), and fill it with pins.

What happened to your Demo Man?

    #3214 9 years ago

Nothing, took off the chrome dildo's as its makes it much more stream lined. I have my pins on the main floor (music studio downstairs) and the handles just weren't working with the look of my set up. To be honest didn't really like them anyway, worked well but just felt queer (as in different).

Can't start quite yet my friend. First I need to figure out if we're staying at our current house long-term. We like our neighborhood, but we covet Poet's Corner. As soon as I know I'm in my long-term house I'll get cracking on the game room addition.

    #3221 9 years ago

I agree with Captive Ball. That's one heck of a lineup. If I were to chose, though, it'd be the modern side. That Tron looks beautiful.

    #3222 9 years ago

Ditch the ACDC and slot a Met Prem in there and you will have a perfect Borg row.

A Tiki-themed game room needs to have a Gilligan's Island pin in the corner.

You have a nice high ceiling so you can do a lot with the walls. With carpet sliders the games are easy to move. I have the Home Depot brand under all my games. 8 in a package for $9 and they are great.

Are those the ones with the brown/beige plastic bottoms? I noticed the HD's in Canada carry these now, where they used to carry the actual Magic Sliders brand, which the brown bottom ones are clearly copies of. I bought some of these, but returned them, as they slid only about half as well as the Magic Sliders do. They still work, but the MS ones move like greased ice!

These are the ones, Everbilt Movealls model #83036N12. They just went down a buck too now only $7.98 for an 8 pack so that's $4 per game and with them being 4.75 inches in diameter the games are perfectly spaced too. Plastic is nice and thick and so is the rubber pad. I love these things. All the others are waaaaay to flimsy.

How much is your budget for decorations. It's ok not to tell.

That will depend on how big of a place I can find, but estimating 15k. I really want to learn how to do some of it myself. That may be too low, but I haven't talked to any of the guys who do this type of a thing for a living yet.

I will be putting my bowler there though....none of those out on route! But for sure I need the proper games: gilligans, fathom, ship ahoy, etc...

Actually I thought of that, but AC/DC is a keeper and I do not want to open a second Stern line. So sooner or later IM will have to go for Metallica.
