that door decals is so amazing!!

    #2502 9 years ago

I was thinking the same thing re painting the trim grey - I trust your taste too Aurich (Helen is gazing loving at me from my acdc)! The rocks are permanent - waiting for the first tipsy guest to bump into the edge of them. Having Pinny and Pizza night tomorrow, so let the blood flow begin!

English pizza, how is it. I had pizza when I was in Ireland a few years ago and the place didn't know what a sausage pizza was.

A quick and dirty photoshop of what it could look like with grey instead for reference.

Yeah that looks just right Aurich. If your still in a PhotoShop mood how about adding a lit "Experiment in progress when lit" sign above the door to top off the doors effect.

Here is a game room entry for you, 1000 pound vault door. I didn't take too many inside because I'm a hunter and the walls above machines are covered with mounts from all over the world. Last time i posted full pics i got hate mail for a month from non hunters. 16 pins in there and wet bar, 2 arcades.

Safe company locally, i know the owner so he had his guys design me a custom size for fit my remodel and addition. 7 feet tall by 44 wide. Opens real easy and is balanced. Has a safety mech on the inside to bypass the lock so you can get out if someone locks the door. Room is about 600 square feet, 11 foot wall with a vault. Seems like the door was like $3200 and i picked it up and installed it because it's only like 8 miles from me. I had the size of the door way pre determined and after drywall we had about 1/8 inch clearance each way. The frame overlapped the drywall so i didn't need trim. Didn't need to square it up because i had them leave me a 3/16 thick threshold on the bottom. That covered the gap between the 2 hardwoods. It's lag bolted in from the inside of the frame sides, too, bottom. She fit like a glove. Pins in there, pins in the garage, pins in my shop, pins in my trailer. Pins are my drugs.

Right, holiday in Australia for you then with that airbrush. Come on down!

    The Panic Room.

    #2515 9 years ago

OR we could call it the PINIC ROOM

    #2516 9 years ago
    Quoted from dendoc:

Sounds awesome, except for that long flight. And I hear you guys have flies the size of small cats, is that true?

If you really wanted to go hardcore (and is there any other way to do it?) you could paint it one shade of grey, then sponge paint a different shade over it, and then use a toothbrush to splatter a couple other tints. Take you an afternoon of playing, and you could get a pretty convincing stone texture out of it. I'm sure there's some Youtube tutorial that has better methods than what I just made up.

Either way, door decal is a lot of fun, nothing like setting the mood before you step into the game room. I'm jealous of these rooms, my pins are in my garage, nowhere in our house to put them. I see people with their 'small' 1200 sq/ft basements and that's the size our whole home! The price of living in CA, no sprawling cheap real estate here. I've got room for 7, can still fit a couple more, so don't want to sound ungrateful, but it's nice being able to stay inside to play instead of popping the garage door and walking out.

I did give up on babying my car, it lives outside now, needed the room for putting pins on another wall.

    #2517 9 years ago

Really like the two doors. Panic room style and vault both will make great stories to visitors.

Pin-Pimp let them cry bring on Bambi pics. Get Bambi's Dad instead would look better on a wall.

Couple of those rooms are impressive.
I constantly see people with older or fewer pins and they do not seem proud of there own collection when posting.

Believe me anyone of us would have fun in most anyones game room. Older or newer expensive or cheap they are games and they are fun do not feel like your game room is inadequate just do to the size or quantity of anothers collection. The fact that you have a game room is very cool IMO and I am sure amongst your friends you have the coolest house to hang out at.

The flies there are not that big but there are zillions of them at the right time/place. Flight is not that bad really. Here are some other hazards to look out for in OZ

Thanks, well I'm proud of my game room and all the critters in it. I grew up in the mountains of Idaho and Alaska and my family and friends have a long heritage of hunting, and not just trophy hunting but hunting for natural meat that we all love. I've just been lucky and had the opportunity to travel the world and yes did a fair amount of hunting. The northwest, Alaska, Asia, Africa twice and New Zealand. I never kill for sport, although African hunting is sport hunting but i saw first hand every part of those animals being used. And they use more of the animal than any butcher shop in any town usa. Nothing went to waste but what was in the stomach and the hooves. Getting ready to add 1400 square feet to my house and more than half of that will be one giant game room. Now room for a big ball bowler, yes! I can post a few more detailed pics of that safe room, just don't want to offend anyone.

You do have something in that nothing, Lake Gardner somewhere around the N in NOTHING. That's where you guys do you Land Speed Racing, on the saltflats. You guys have some fast cars and bikes down under.

    #2521 9 years ago

Close, Lake Gairdner is actually further south where the D is in Desert in South Australia. I've been close by it a coupla times on my way to Roxby where the Uranium mine is. And Dendoc, I've been to Burleigh heads a few times. Nice place

And while those idiots send hate mail, they have a steak on the grill! Ok back on topic and bad Ass gamerooms!!

    #2524 9 years ago

IMO: The white trim on the door looks out of place. Even a "Hammered" grey or black paint, on the trim would be a cool & easy.

    Looking good Jared!!!

Sorry for the upside down pics if someone can clue me in on how to fix them I will!

Very cool Tom. I'm so jealous of you guys with all the cool games. Me and my first and only pin so far. LOL Was curious, I saw 3 Brunswick Bowling Pin stools in your pic. I do have two of those and love them. I got mine from the home of Brunswick here in Muskegon, Mi. How did you acquire yours?

My abduction lamp lives on a shelf near RFM because I couldnt find a decent way to put it on top since the lamp is top-heavy and doesnt attach to the base. But I did get a cow up there.

Nice map. I had the pleasure of living in NZ for a year. Couldn't believe there is nothing there that is poisonous/venomous. Such a relaxed place. But watch out for orcs. Apparently they live in Orcland (or is that Aukland?)

Nothing poisonous here just earthquakes, interesting weather and carnivorous sheep to worry about! Aussie is a great place don't get me wrong but the poisonous stuff does worry me a bit!

Here is my humble entry.I don't have the money to spend on these that I would like to,so I have to grab the right opportunities (bargains) when they appear..from right to left, and what I paid for them.. Our fledgling pinball league had its third monthly competition tonight, this time in my own new game room, which meant I finally had to get it filled with games and spiffed up all nice and presentable. So to celebrate, here are some pics, including a few from league night.

I picked mine up from a Clist ad the seller was a former pro bowler that retired after a car accident I believe he got them as part of his winnings from a tournament.
