Very good use of space. I like the old bagatelle games on the wall. Nice room!

Super nice...don't ever open your garage door. I wouldn't want anyone seeing what you have in there.

Thanks. We enjoy it. Was a storage unit for too long. Hopefully never again.

It really is a cool piece. Combination between EM and PM. I did a restoration thread on it about a year ago here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/brunswick-pro-block-a-shot#post-6710341

Nice game room! I've got a really nice Dual VS red tent but in NC. Not sure if you meant the upright or sit down version.

Nice looking gameroom! I was looking for some carpet squares too, what kind did you get and from where?

I chose multiple pattern tiles in grey from Wayfair. These…

Okay thanks.. I've seen a few different styles out there.. Home Depot has some in stock too, I also found some Det Lions and Pistons squares that were pretty cool but expensive. I was looking for some type of game room glow in the dark ones..

We do want a red tent eventually but mostly looking for the big dual angled cabinet.

I have one, too. Simple game but always gets a ton of plays when guests are over. Mine needs a new score real circuit board….it currently jumps scores once in a while.

Hey thanks!! Still a lot to finish up. Here’s the attic which we finished some time ago. Has our older pins, added AFM as well.

Really like the modern look. Here stateside, we're still a couple decades behind quality construction like in Aus, NZ or Europe. We're slowly getting there though. Homes where I live are a bunch of 2x4's slung together in one month and given a fancy name like "a Craftsman home." Lived in both places and it drives me a bit crazy here.

Dunno. I think there can be horror stories anywhere. We have a massive shortage of good tradesmen at the moment. Meaning some peoples builds have been delayed massively. Also apartments have had real quality issues where people have paid 1m for a flat only to be locked out because of structural safety concerns. Not saying it’s every build but concerns are here as well.

    Easy now...your in the USA

USA and Canada really are so behind the rest of the world when it comes to technology and certain building codes. It’s unfortunate we don’t have more architects and engineers that travel just to see what can be done.

So true, I follow these guys in Norway that do the most amazing builds, with crazy recycled products, they have some cool technology there that we seem to ignore. I've seen some truly innovative ideas come out of Norway.
Not sure why we're not looking forward here, we seem stuck in the past.

Finally got the meat and potatoes done with my basement bar renovation. Took me a full year for the bar build. Finished the basement renovation a year before that. Next phase is to get stuff up on the walls

He’s right - the building industry in Australia, New Zealand, Japan are decades ahead of what we do here. Just with concrete alone!

Japanese homes are commonly leveled and built from scratch when sold, which has forced the industry to get really efficient really quickly. We just haven’t had a push to force things to change here.

That game room and the attic in particular is amazing! Love all the glass. (Your proximity to China compared to the States must have a huge positive effect on prices!)

Skate board overhead lights are pretty easy to make. I got porcelain double lamp sockets for 13 bucks on Amazon, just drill a hole in the deck at each end and drop the sockets in and wire up

I caulked around the tempered plate glass and the wood top. To swap out marquee I would need to break the caulk, but then I can swap em out easily and re-caulk.

Didn’t use an architect and most things we thought of the builder had never done before. We just kept trying new things. The black ceiling is actually zinc. Probably one of the only poured concrete walls in our suburb. Stuff like this happens in our inner city suburbs but not so much further out where we are.

We had a bit of money from a deceased estate and just went for it. On the other side of 50 and don’t want to put things off to the future anymore. So decided to get everything we wanted now whilst we can still enjoy. Wife got a gym so all fair - she does play as well.

Maybe an architect could have done better, I’m just cheap and don’t want to pay an architect 70k. Btw, materials not inexpensive in Australia. Council fees etc cost me 50k. Stormwater regulations cost me another 30k, trees - don’t get me started! Anyway loving the space at last. Thanks for the praise, appreciated.

Wow, 70K for an architect! After doing our big addition last year I definitely recommend working with one - but it looks like you didn’t need it! I can tell you we did not pay anywhere in the universe of 70K, and I did appreciate some of the cost savings - I think she paid for herself just in revising my designs to lower the amount of work but still have the same outcome. I suppose it could even hold you back with not being able to think creatively (depends on the person obviously)

Anyway, huge amount of work, but you can see it all paid off. Well done

Every Aussie gameroom I’ve seen here has been incredible. I do wish we didn’t live in such an expensive area in the States.

I’m liking it! It has some great shots and the video assets and music are awesome. I think this one will really grow on people like most of Gomez’s games, especially once the code develops. The game art looks better in person as well.

Is that Heineken globe light glass or plastic?

It’s plastic unfortunately. It’s from a Pub in Montreal that my brother used to work at while at university. I’ve had it over 20 years now. Man time flies.
