Quoted from DiabloRush:Well, a few months work turned our basement closet into my new gameroom. Before and after pics. Hmmm, something about those 4 Sterns all lined up. What could it be? I just can't put my finger on it. Oh yeah. That's it. Need to trade the Mando for an AIQ. Anyone interested.

Would you consider yourself a “closet” pinball player/lover?

If anyone is in the market for a right nut... I would gladly trade you for a Theatre of Magic, lol. Such a great game.
Mines on the swap list if i find the right game. I do love it, and would buy a new one if CGC do it, but hardly ever gets played.

Another year, another lineup. I love variety. Spiderman is in on temp trade for Deadpool and something will have to move when Weird Al shows up.
Pool table is new to us and kids love the one ups. Been adding arcade marquees in front of the light strip. My basement oasis.

Your Flash Gordon and Fathom look great next to each other.
Question for you electrical experts out there…is 110 adequate for a 12k btu mini split, or is 220 a must? I’ll need a 220 outlet installed if 220 is the only way to go. The cost between a 110 and 220 unit is about the same. I’m guessing 220 is more efficient and cheaper to run?

I would roll the 220. It's much more efficient.
Quoted from kciaccio:I would roll the 220. It's much more efficient.
Seconded. Definitely do it, especially since it’s the same cost to install
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:Seconded. Definitely do it, especially since it’s the same cost to install
I can probably install the mini split myself without any pro help, but I’ll need one for the 220 outlet. But it’s probably worth it. Depending on when I can get one out there!

If they're the same size unit, they'll both cost you the same to run. The difference is, the 220 unit will draw half the amps then the 110 unit. And because of that, a smaller wire size can be used for the 220 unit which ends up being cheaper to install.

If you install it yourself, you may void the warranty unless you can get a licensed plumber or HVAC person sign off on your work.

This is a great room! Tilt toppers are the best and I like the playfields on the walls as well. Nice variety of games. Nice work.
It's been a long time coming, but I can finally contribute to this thread. Moved earlier this year to a house which had an outbuilding that had previously been used as a workshop - wasn't much to look at, but it had three phase electric and running water at least:

I immediately saw the potential for a pin room - I'm just lucky my wife liked the house attached - and got to work on it a couple of months ago. Building work finished last week, and I moved the machines in this week. Incredibly happy with the outcome.

Looks great. How did you accumulate all the translites?
Quoted from JustLikeMe:Building work finished last week, and I moved the machines in this week.
Nice Job! Looks like you have a little room for expansion and the exposed beams look great! Is that a carport attached on the outside or a covered patio? That looks like it would make a great outdoors space for a bar area.
Quoted from Sorokyl:Looks great. How did you accumulate all the translites?
Thanks!
A combination of things. I saw backglasses on their own like this at my first pinball shows, Allentown and York 2019. There were vendors selling these and I have between $20 and $50 in most of them, with a few choice pieces I liked (Paragon and Spiderman) at about $80. I have been slowly picking these up when I find ones I like, as people take old ones out when they put in new repros. I have also traded a ton of these to help people get them back in their games. I've had a few unobtanium ones I've traded away that way... My old Blackout for your Flight 2,000 and Seawitch for example. I started listing my desire for these in the show threads as many people have one or two in their closet they are not doing anything with. As to the marquees, I started on these last year and actually have had more than one pinsider PM me to mail me a few of their old ones for free (Thank You!). Of all the stuff on my wall Paragon, Lost World, Outrun, and High Speed are my favorites. Slowly improving lighting in that area as well. When I sell/trade pins I always ask if the other person has some of this stuff as a sweetener in our negotiations.
What is the best methods to hang back glasses and playfields to the wall? It would be very sad if some fell down.
Quoted from DanMarino:What is the best methods to hang back glasses and playfields to the wall? It would be very sad if some fell down.
This is my method. I've done this for years without busting anything... to include sending these through the mail. The only backglass I ever broke was at a show, and it exploded in my hands (My Meteor!).
Other people have had great success using mirror mounts.
