    Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

Yup! His name is Eddie Case and he has a 6 part series on basement framing.
Best framing videos you'll find on Youtube.

Exactly. I purchased his entire basement finishing university package before I started working on mine. It was the best $100 I probably ever spent. He goes through framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, cabinetry, etc. I went from never even using a table saw to finishing my basement.

I probably spent 3 weeks watching the videos over and over again. I had tons and tons of notes and a shopping list for when I went to the store. That $100 saved me tens of thousands of dollars. This is my build thread if anyone is bored.

    Quoted from moat-pin:

Great lineup and variety. On first few pics I couldnt find/orient to the stairs and wondering if you sealed yourself off down there to squeeze in one more pin

Thanks! I try to get games that have different layouts, flipper arrangements etc to keep things fun and different. I also try to focus on games that aren’t on location around me.
Unfortunately the stairs go right down the middle so the game room wraps around. I have a small workout and repair area on the backside where the furnace, water heater and sump is.
Thanks for checking out the game room!

Yeah i usually leave it up to him to draw what he wants. I did ask for the deadpool disco mode for my dance floor to stand in front off, and the front door was my tribute to the hobbit, but the other stuff he has done off his own inspiration.

All done with spray cans and one index finger.

Next time she looks at you funny, walk along the line with her....10, 20, 35, 40, 48k, etc just stop talking when you get too a 100k.

    That should work.

Not if you sell her first! Would likely fund a pin or two. Get you a 90s game or two! TZ, Addams, WH20, WW, RS, FH, FT, HS2, AFM, MB all good candidates

Quoted from daveyvandy:I'm currently building a custom home. Hopefully the drop ceiling here was done right! This will all be the pinball area.

My advice to you is to install MANY more outlets - even some in the ceiling. Also, if you ever plan to add neons (you will) put outlets up high everywhere. Take it from someone who now has 104 outlets in my 2900 sq. ft. gameroom, and can always use more. Not that you'll use them all, but it's much better to have them and not use them, than to need them and not have them.

You can't change your mind once the drywall is in place. No limit to how many outlets you can have as long as they're all breaker-protected. Use 20 amp circuits against the pinball walls and move the outlets up high to 48 in. so the cords don't show. \

You'll never regret spending the extra $$.

You know how it is with chairs. “I’m only getting one, I’m satisfied with that.” One becomes two. If you have two, you might as well get three. Before you know it you’re into theatre seating, bar stools, ottomans, recliners, mods, powder coated chairs and $2k chair toppers.

I agree, even though my gameroom is fairly small, around 400 square feet, I actually recently added seating as most people want comfortable seating if they are going to enjoy hanging out in a space. My family is more likely to be in our game room if they can play a few games and also be comfortable and watch TV or talk between games. Not everyone is a full on pin head like us who will play for hours on end standing.
I like that your gameroom looks like a great comfortable place to do other things as well like play cards, bowl, darts etc.

Not being rude just questioning but why have them? If you aren’t going to play like crazy? Wouldn’t it be cheaper and easier to just go to an arcade? I play mine every weekend after cleaning the house or finishing my “honey-do-list”! I think I played 100 games last night with the kids!

    #19550 2 years ago

I think most on here, buy for a status thing. People who seem to own only JJP games, and Stern LE's , seem to buy for bragging rights, but don't actually play them. If they did, they wouldn't own most JJP games.
