    Quoted from CaptainNeo:

how do those jack stands not eat holes in the carpet?

It probably only weighs about 700lbs as it stands. The whole car will be around 1300lbs with 155hp when finished which will be fun!

    Quoted from pinwiztom:

Finally got around to bringing some of my EM pins back down to the basement, after getting a new floor installed.
This basement side room will continue to be my retro EM pinball room as well as my place to store and archive my pinball manuals and vast pinball flyer collection.
Below are a couple of pictures of those games with my new marmoleum floor finally installed.
Not very pretty or custom or as nice as a lot of the other gamerooms in this topic thread,
but it is what it is.
I still have about 10 more pins to set back up in the basement, some of which will be Solid State pins,
but i think I am leaning more toward EMs at the moment.
    [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I a getting too old for this hobby, as I strained my back, while setting games up.
If it were not for my nephew (in-law) helping
it would not be possible to get these games set back up in the basement, let alone anywhere.

Awesome! Something about EM's is captivating. The art, the sound.....I can almost smell this picture.

    Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

.I can almost smell this picture.

I love the small of EMs!! Especially when you open the coin door... I think it's all that brass they used... they should make a perfume like it!!

    Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

    Yes, those 60s bells!
At times, on one machine, after playing, turning it off, and opening the door to exit the room. It's faint,
but the sound of the large bell is still in the air..

    #18606 2 years ago
    Quoted from pinballslave:

EMs definitely do have a smell that is unique.

    Quoted from yzfguy:

It would drive me absolutely insane that that neon is spelled incorrectly.

Unless he's actually an ally to pinball or pinball is an ally to him. The gameroom and pinball might be allies and that's what is meant by the neon sign

So many badass game rooms !It’s real cool how everyone does they’re own thing .I’m finally back to finishing up my basement .I did most of 1/2 of it to get the machines down there now I’m full throttle on completion .Soooo much detail ,I built everything from scratch .I’m having a spat with my wife right now I want to mount the back end of a EL Camino In the home theatre area to lay in for movie nights .A junkyard bare bones rear ended of course but with tires and the rear window .What do you think ?It would come out of the wall by the slot machine with a fiber optic night sky ceiling above .

I think it's a cool idea, don't feel bad tho, my wife threatened divorce over my home theater idea, I wanted ours to look like a run down old $1 movie theater with seats that looked ripped and an always sticky floor. All my favorite movie memories are from seeing cult movies in crappy theaters. Wife put her foot down on that one.
    Good luck with the finish!

I think it's a shame how some wives dampen the enthusiasm for seeing through cool ideas like this... but as they say, happy wife, happy life... something like that...

Is that place still around? We used to go there in the early 90's and play pinball on the 2nd floor. We loved sitting and eating inside those old fashioned cars.

( I built a 2 story game room, have it full of new and vintage machines , did an insane amount of work on everything, it’s truly a masterpiece for what I was trying to accomplish).

My wife recently told me she doesn’t want a juke I’ve been slowly working on, and now she wants a record console cabinet. No big deal...

Fixing stuff is right up my alley, so I suggested we buy a nice one (whichever she wants) that needs internals fixed, so we could save a little money and modernize it a little.

She said,” let’s get one that’s ready to go, no projects”, then she saw price tags, and consented and we bought a nice cabinet.

She explained it like this... Daddy spent 2 years building on and off while mommy felt like a single parent, then when a project isn’t going well, daddy is grumpy and his mind is on the project and nothing else. She says sometimes it’s not the money, but the time and frustration mitigation that is the value.

I’ve learned a few things through this process over the years.

Toys change shape with the age of my kids, and they’re getting more expensive correlated to the fun we want to have.

Kids are getting more mobile and better at sports, time with them is more important than fixing issues in the game room, and I’ll find pockets of time to get gameroom issues fixed in different ways.

Getting my wife involved in the drama of a sale of a game and giving her a cut of the sale, even if I’m losing money overall is always a win (and she feels better about future transactions all around)

Some sacrifices have to be made... not for the financial part necessarily, but for the time it’s going to cost acquiring and dealing with a new idea or game.

Life is good, we will continue to learn and grow, but the best reward is the outcome of my family with me improving myself as a dad and husband and leader of my family.

I included the "back end" of the keezer that has all the CO2/nitrogen beergas and pump setup for the glass rinser. Not sure if that is what you meant.

Some updated photos from a party last night. Still a lot to finish off in the main part of the basement, but figuring out what works and what doesn't with different layouts. We have a few more walls to knock down and add a bar.

    A work in progress...

Nice layout. Next time someone tells me to go to Hell I won't be offended.

Besides the neon, the fireplace really sets your place apart. Very nice!

Love the brick. Thinking about doing that on 1 or 2 walls when I do mine.

    Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

I’m curious where everybody gets their diner table/bench setup? Is that something I need to flea market, or are there actual suppliers?

These guys are about 45 mins. south of me. Custom is their middle name, and the quality is amazing.
Free shipping I believe currently for orders over $1K.
We bought a 6' bar years ago from them, and that thing is solid maple and weighs 600 lbs.

At that time (and probably still now) they use original old engineering drawings they got from a 1950s' diner furniture manufacturer, to fab from.

Wow, she’s a beut! What brand is it? I have my dads Airline that he bought new in ‘68 or ‘69.[quoted image][quoted image]

    Wow that's great, Airline?
I think it's the same model my parents had.

    Quoted from Spyderturbo007:

Sorry. I meant how do you keep 16 barrels and their line sets cold?

Keezer as you know is a chest freezer with a temp controller on it keeping it between 38-41F. The lines and barrels stay cold with a 3 inch bilge fan moving the cold air inside from bottom to top. The 2x10 collar is insulated. There is a controller keeping the fan at a slow speed. A magnetic reed switch on the lid operates a DPDT relay so when the lid is closed the fan is on, and lid open turns on an LED 5050 strip for light inside. No beer foaming as the operating pressure, carbonation level is balanced with the line length/diameter. So no co2 comes out of solution.

    Hope this helps!
