New pin room not looking so good right now...

I have never seen pins up on chairs during a flood. Good trick that never occurred to me.

The chairs gave their lives wisely.

You have to save the King, that's what soldiers are for.

    Welcome to my gameroom!

    That was awesome!!!

Could you please expand a little more on your custom animation displays? I’d like to build myself a few

Weather, this one took us by surprise. Was only supposed to be 3 or 4 inches, which we can handle. Not sure how much came down, but it was a lot. Lots of cars still in the neighborhood, included my wife's. Of course I'd rather lose a car than a pinball machine. I moved al the EMs upstairs. Normally I would evac the solid states, but like I said, took us by surprise. I'll attach an updated pic in a min.[quoted image]

Damn! Very sorry. I think we got 7-8” here so we are in the same boat (no pun intended). My room is fortunately ok. I hope this clears out soon for you.

Two beasts! Haha both of these games are ridiculously tall and heavy.

We've added a few pins over the past few months, but we're not done yet. Waiting on Iron Maiden Premium pin and a Jurassic Park Arcade sit down two player game to arrive this month. They are going in what used to be the exercise room located adjacent to the cigar room. Still have a few more items to hang on the walls but it's coming together.

Great looking room! I have to ask, does the Skee-Ball get much play? My wife loves them and I've always thought it would be fun to get one for her some day - but she's worried that the novelty would wear off after having one at home and we'd end up not really playing it. How are you getting on with it?

Honestly, everyone said "I love Skee-Ball" so I pulled the trigger and got one at my wife's request. It rarely gets played and when it does get used it is so loud it gets on my nerves when I'm playing the pins. It's probably going to be sold to make room for another pin, and my wife is onboard with that decision. Someone will get a good deal on a barely played Skee-Ball game!

    #18158 2 years ago

I have a "smart ball" skee ball machine, and it's used continuously when the party crowd arrives. One of the most popular machines aside from the bubble hockey being number 1.

Does consume a lot of game room space though.

Jolly Park. I hope everything works out for Jaytrem, and also super curious about the collection of theme park/rollercoaster pins - Jaytrem, do you have a lot of nostalgia for Asbury Park or other boardwalks?

Thanks, that confirms both of our thoughts. Think we'll leave it unless I see a great deal on one over here!

I had one, good thing we put it in the garage at first, the kids and the rest of my family went to play it, and we got our fill. It was an ice ball machine, a load of fun. But it got old quickly, ski ball machines are huge. I think it would’ve taken up the space of four or five pinball machines

I’m grateful to play ski ball at the movie theater down the road, even sometimes we go there and I walk by it and remember the time we owned one and don’t even play the machine sitting in front of me

Thanks everyone. Bit of bad pinball news, the Cyclone fell over sometime over night. Very disappointed, that was my first game and all time favorite. It was in excellent condition, probably not so much anymore. I'll let it dry out and see what can be done. At least the backglass was upstairs.

The rest of the machines stayed high and dry. Even the Disco Fever was high enough, I wasn't so sure for a while. I think my mistake with the Cyclone was that I put it on some This End Up furniture. Turns out they're very buoyant.

The room itself it a total mess. Things were looking so good just on the last page of this thread. Oh well, time to get back to work. Water still isn't gone yet, but plenty to do.

If flooding gets to the point where it can reach pins up on legs you know shit is serious.

You just never know. I have a skeeball and it is used a lot at parties.

I also have a dart machine that everyone told me was a waste and it is the most used thing in out game house.

I have star wars battle pod that is the most amazing eye candy ever but is rarely played.

Just depends on the group that you entertain.

How do you like that Jurassic Park Arcade? That is my wife's favorite game at our local arcade. I have one on order arriving this month as a surprise for her 50th Birthday. My 4 year old grandson is gonna go crazy when he sees it. Nice game room!

It is probably the best arcade game of all time. Saying that, it is linear and will get old over time. I have a large collection and parties like once a month so it still gets a lot of play.

Still games like pacman battle royale, moto gps and crusin blasts are more popular because of the opportunity to race each other/play each other.

I won’t ever sell it and for me it is a piece of history and piece of art, just like the battle pod.

Im in the area as well. The amount of rain falling was insane. It was so damn loud. Luckily my basement is ok. I have a french drain, sump pump, and a backup. So lets hope that works over the years.

    IDA sucked, big big time.
So sorry for everyone's loss (games, cars, homes, etc.), just more stress we all do NOT need.

Served as a good reminder for me to call my insurance agent just to make sure my coverage is there on the games. (We went through flooding before and it's simply an awful, traumatic experience).

We're 500 ft. and 3 house-rows from a normally small stream that ALMOST overtopped.
We consider ourselves very lucky compared to those who got hit hard.
Sending out good vibes to those affected ...

    Wow that flooding is crazy
You handled that in a very wise way
Don’t be too hard on yourself for cyclone you could have lost many more. At least now you have an excuse to completely restore it to new.

Lives were lost in that storm.
    Complete madness and chaos.

    Sorry about Cyclone

We got water as well. Not nearly as bad as you did though. This was all the while our sump pump was running the entire time through the storm. The water came up through the floor. Nothing we could do but wait. I thought we’d be ok based in past experiences. I was wrong. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. My stuff should dry out. Just an annoyance for me. Much more serious for you. We only got about 7-8” in our basement. The video was about 3 hours before the rain stopped.

Keep the dehumidifiers going, but in all seriousness, go to the store and buy some newspapers, may be able to get some free yesterpapers from the library. Wad up pages individually and throw them in your machine. They absorb water from the air extremely effectively.

Things got worse since we were chatting about that... what's even more crazy is that I've never even set one up to play yet!! Too many games arrived at once and had to go straight to storage! It was nuts to end up with so many of these, they weigh a ton too, so they're a pain to lug around, as I'm sure you can testify! I can't imagine how you got yours up on those chairs!!!

I let my wife lift up the Jolly Park, she's strong like bull! Seriously though, I can't thank her enough for helping me save the pins. Never complained once. She has suggested maybe we should build up rather than keeping them on the ground level.
