Interviewer had no respect for those bad ass classic video games you built!! Good to see you point out room and keeping many people happy. Amazing room and i want a Defender/Stargate!
Quoted from Roostking:Interviewer had no respect for those bad ass classic video games you built!!
Was thinking the same... these things deserve tremendous respect and praise, they're awesome!! There's a gap in the market there!!

Very nice, im waiting on a mk2, tech is getting over it.

Get a colorDMD in that bad boy and load up Outlaw Torn on that game!

Neon signs came from eBay.

Cool Centaur 2! Are they all this style cab? I've never seen one.
Quoted from Mr_Outlane:Cool Centaur 2! Are they all this style cab? I never seen one.
All Centaur II's are in this cabinet yes. They were left over cabinets from the failed game Rapid Fire. As well as EBD LE and Mr and Mrs Pac-Man. Not sure why it was ever called Centaur II since its the same game.

Nice arcade collection, that Jam needs more room on the ends though! Played that game wayyyy too much in the arcade. 4 player games like Jam and Blitz are underrated

Thanks, I thought they were somehow different games LOL! The more you know..
Ok, so all the cabs for this failed game went to make not only Centaur II, but also the Eight Ball Deluxe LE and Mr. & Mrs. Packman games as well.
Why did Rapid Fire fail? It looks cool!
Never Mind, I found the answer! Interesting pinball history for sure!!

I remember loving those wallcades when I saw them on Klov years ago. Great job building those -- super jealous of people that can do stuff like that.

I like this a lot; love how the billiards are “in their own zone.”
Curious what amount of sqft you’re working with here between billiards and arcade/pins, as it looks like you packed a lot in while still keeping everything looking well-designed, purposeful and neat.
What/where did you get those ceiling tiles above the billiards area? I would like to replace our tiles and thinking something like that would fit the bill quite nicely. Are they black, as I’ve only ever seen them come in tin-esque colors (or actual tin).

Thank you I appreciate that! The basement I have is around 1200-1300 sq ft which has a small office room and bathroom. I made the new addition in my basement for the pool table room to separate everything. Before having everything squished together it was really difficult having a group of people over and now with this set up it's much nicer and easier having a large get together with different things to entertain not just Pinball.
I recently did the ceiling after failing to match the popcorn ceiling from the rest of the basement. I used glue up tiles from menards which added up to a little spendy but the look came out great.
This was my basement before the extension so it was pretty crowded down there.
cfed08531c6808149b9dbcbe2febc7c58a6407d1 (resized).jpgWe just purchased a house 5 weeks back and one of the big projects was to turn the outdated bar/billiards room into a prohibition meets 80’s meets mid-century modern meets modern vibe.
Think we’re about 90% done here. Have a few more random decor items coming in. The bar was actually a local bar from the prohibition era, and the room built around it in the 80’s when it shut down for good. I’d like to still replace both the ceiling and carpet, probably some form of tin for former and the 80’s retro black and neon shapes for the carpet.
Got a pinball neon sign still coming in, which will replace the flat/metal pinball sign to the left of the pins. BKSOR comes in via freight tomorrow, which will sit next to JP2 there. The 4th pin will be Mando, which I have deposit out on, so just a patient waiting game. All pins are prems.
I actually only planned on one pin, 4-5 was my wife’s idea, so instead of putting the TV in the recessed wall there, we’re doing all pins in that area instead. Makes sense, as everyone has a TV and xbox in their room already, and while we never have a TV in living room, makes total sense to keep TV out of the family room (now called barcade) as well, thus keeping this strictly a gaming room; better vibe!
Stuck a before picture in as well, and which shows the couch we bought for the TV that is now no longer going there (and couch now lives in exercise room instead)

Ah, such a better change; fantastic re-design!
I hear ya on cost of those ceiling tiles. Funny that we’ll spend what on a pin and mods but on $4/sqft tiles. And damn, I was trying not to pay $3/sqft for the perfect carpet tiles. That shit adds up real quick! Grr… it must be done at some point though

Up the Irons!
Quoted from EJS:Got some reorganizing done today for one of the spare bedrooms. I can now fit one more game in here.
I think I’ll add a light strip in back rather than that harsh fixture on the ceiling. Open to any other recommendations.
Is that because you have firepower shoved under flash ha ha

Nope originally had everything up against the right wall. Behind Firepower is Nugent which were both stored coin door up on the left wall.

I love the casual worksite in that picture. Hot soldering iron hanging from the shooter, solder on the ottoman, cold beverage in the PinGulp…but what’s the hammer for?

Been thinking about this. How do you get the pin out from under the pins? Is it a one-person job?
(I’ve got a 4-pin room that already has 4 pins)
You take the one out of the room that is on the end and then slide them towards the space that created one at a time and then take them out of the room until you have only the two on the floor and two left at the opposite end.
Quoted from kyle5574:I love the casual worksite in that picture. Hot soldering iron hanging from the shooter, solder on the ottoman, cold beverage in the PinGulp…but what’s the hammer for?
hammer was for getting the door off the hinges with a punch (not seen) in order to get that JP inside the room without having to take the head off.
You should have been there minutes before. While the iron is cooling off on the shooter rod, earlier it was plugged in and hanging off the door knob of the door while the door was leaning up against the wall.
Quoted from kyle5574:Been thinking about this. How do you get the pin out from under the pins? Is it a one-person job?
They are pretty light so it could be done alone. They were slid under before 8 ball and stellar wars went into position. They’d need to be pulled back out again to recover the games.
I had posted pics of my old basement game room many years ago. Last year I moved to SW Florida and built a separate building out back with 2 car garage and made a nice game room out of remaining space. I’m such a nut I covered the only window with a huge Guinness mirror lol. Still not complete as I’m missing my jukebox being fixed 1 pin Zep premium & arcade legends 3. Have to make room maybe move dart board to other side.

When you figure it out let me know. I have the exact same NSM hanging in my office. The dollar bill acceptor is no longer working and I want to put it on free play.

it’s in the manual. Had to do it for mine. IIRC it’s a setting about pre-loaded credits and if set to 99 it’s on free play. There is a battery/ram chip in there that needs replacement every few years. Otherwise the settings don’t keep and the machine won’t work right.

I read about the 99 credits and had to use a dollar bill to reach that amount but it still didn’t work? Maybe it is a dead battery I will check that out thanks
Quoted from bonzo442:I read about the 99 credits and had to use a dollar bill to reach that amount but it still didn’t work? Maybe it is a dead battery I will check that out thanks
No it's not about entering credits. It's a setting. While some recommend leaving the interlock switch pulled all the time which lets you play songs without credits I don't recommend that solution. It leaves the juke in programmable mode after power up and can get really messed up by someone who doesn't realize they are changing settings.
The programmable settings 90-94 will need to be set. P090-P091-P092-P093 are set to 0. P094 is set to 200. Free play all the time.
You have to go into settings:
- Open the door and pull out the white interlock switch.
- Display should show P010 in the SELECTION window and some other numbers in the other windows.
- Press 'C' - display should show only P with no other digits
- Enter 090 and press H
- Enter 0 and press H
- Enter 091 and press H
- Enter 0 and press H
- Enter 092 and press H
- Enter 0 and press H
- Enter 093 and press H
- Enter 0 and press H
- Enter 094 and press H
- Enter 200 and press H
Push the interlock back in. Close the door. You are done.
If the ram/battery chip is dead then the settings will not remain after you power off and the juke will not function correctly anyway.
