    Nice work!

Are you guys down south getting gouged like us on lumber? I almost shit myself when I saw a sheet of plywood for a $107 at home depot yesterday. 3x the cost in a year? Absolutely insane

    #17652 2 years ago

Getting hosed on lumber down south as well.

    #17653 2 years ago

Yes, hosed on lumber! A year ago our lumber package was about 60k and now has tripled. Yuck!
Had 22 sheets of OSB sheeting stolen off the job site the our week. About 2k in our costs. It sucks.

Theft is a huge problem up here also. Every other day it seems I see someone charged with theft on a jobsite on the news ticker. Developers are starting to hire nighttime security for new neighborhood developments. Theifs don't even look at the copper anymore.

I Like the Corvette front end, though it's not an exact sculpt, it sure does give the flavor of that era. Neat piece. Nice decoration.

Sadly not enough space to squeeze all my pins in, but happy with how the room is coming along.

Thanks. There's a thick glass shelf for it that weighs more then the car. Will definitely need to be attached to studs. Its like 4x larger then the 69 Vette shelf i have.

The guy I bought it from said he brought it back from the Dominion Republic on vacation but never used it and that he paid $300 for it. Still can't believe he sold it to me for only $30!

Its been a busy 6 months! What used to be our bar/movie room and a kids playroom has been converted to a barcade and a movie room. Its nice to finally have all the pins in one space. Still have to build the pedestal for the arcade and finish filling some empty space on walls but its finally 100% functional

    Update on Dave's Ballshack:
The builder installed the wrong glass in the doors to The Shack (wanted single piece glass instead of the one with the smaller panes), but that has now been replaced.
The pins in storage are ready to be set free.
Our move-in is in 3 weeks and 3 days (but who's counting)

The PacMan sign is from https://www.hobbylobby.com/Home-Decor-Frames/Mirrors-Wall-Decor/Word-Wall-Art/Arcade-Pac-Man-Metal-Sign/p/80828293 The Williams sign I had my neighbor cut on his water jet at work and wired LEDs on the back.
The signs above the machines are just old arcade marquees. I bent a J-channel at work and ran LED strips across the bottom.

Great room, I've got a bunch of old arcade marques like you have and just wasn't sure how to display them. I like the way you have them light up around the room. How are you lighting them and what are you hanging them with? Thanks!

Thanks! I bent 16 gauge J-channels at work. The marquees just lean against the wall and leave enough room for the LED strip to fit behind them. Here are the lights I used

Its an old Zenith TV I pulled out of my great aunts basement. I gutted it and put a PC and monitor in it. I have hours of 80's and 90's cartoons and toy commercials it cycles through. Every time I look over I see a different memory from my childhood Gotta get the knobs mounted on the front yet.

We've been busy over the past 18 months as we finished the completion of our billiard and game room. We initially had three powered media chairs centered on the 80" TV but we quickly realized that weeks go by and we don't even turn the TV on. So we yanked the seating out to make room for more pins and the wife wanted ski-ball. We play pinball 7 days a week since the game room is located above our distribution facility and we work from home.

I have two Sonus subwoofers in the game room and Origin Acoustics speakers in the ceiling so when not gaming it sounds great. Just off the game room is cigar lounge with in ceiling smoke eliminator and built in digital humidor. Each room in the building is served by its own mini-split HVAC system so there is ZERO chance of any smoke spreading through ductwork. There is really no evidence of anyone ever smoking in the lounge. The solid exterior door has weatherstripping and the 25 pound block of charcoal in the smoke eliminator is totally effective. (I've never smoked a cigarette, so smoke is a pet peeve of mine and I only enjoy the occasional cigar.

When I was dreaming up ideas for the game room my wife kept saying I was going overboard. Then Covid hit and our house became the favorite local hangout for our friends and family. We have two beers on draft as well as a 12ft shuffleboard table to the left of the pins. I have yet to figure out where to put my Mandalorian LE and Iron Man Premium I have coming in the next few months.

Check with a local sign shop. My multicade, Tapper and Burger Time marquess are printed on white vinyl and applied to plexiglass. I supplied the plexi and it was $20 each for Burger Time and Tapper and $60 for the big multicade

    Quoted from Charlemagne1987:

That’s going to be awesome when it’s full of pins.

Thanks for your encouragement... but I suspect there will be a significant time gap between it looking awesome and it being full of pins... Next step is to move all pins from storage, so I can stop paying storage fees... this will put this room into gridlock... the up-ended pins will then be used as a kind of scaffolding platform for doing the ceiling... then I can start thinning the herd to make space for setting the keepers up...

Work in progress but got my first real pinball last month LZ premium, pretty decent gaming pc I built, Virtual pinball, and working on putting in a drop down screen and projector for movies.

I want to add a slim 2 player full size arcade I’ll be building after summer and will have room for another 2-3 pinball machines which I plan on getting over the next 3-4 years.l depending on used locally or new ones I really want coming out.

Wait, back up the truck. How did you get your hands on a 3090 GPU?

You’re mining with that when you’re not gaming right? That thing should bring in about $210/month.
