Quick update on the Ballshack. They have started on the roofing and cornice work and they removed all of the temporary support studs from the interior. Here's a pano of the inside.

Took another video of the collection. Had a couple line up changes since the last one. First vid is the basement, second video is the games I have at my dad's machine shop.

Simply incredible!!! That’s not a collection. It’s a museum. You have much to be proud of.

The first thing I bought for my new home was a 7-foot life-size IRON MAN figure from those awesome folks over at SIDESHOW COLLECTIBLES. Here's a quickie time-lapse video of it getting put together....

The space is an odd shape but I have packed them in where I can and it doesn’t conflict with the kids play area.

Is that a huge bean bag chair or an ottoman? If a bean bag chair, custom made, and does anyone use it on Movie night?

It’s called the Fuff. I got it on Black Friday from Amazon a few years ago. It’s full of memory foam cubes and is 7’ across. It gets used by the kids regularly for movies.

And just like that, I freed up space for 6 machines instead of 5. I used to have them all up against the wall. I have found that by switching them 2 deep and sideways, I can fit in 6 instead of 5. I have to keep those doors passable and this maximizes the space. Now to find my first E.M... and can put more up on the wall.

Looks cool that way, and makes use of the "walkthru" space to the door. Nice!

Breezeway connection to house which will include walkway access and required security gate with magnetic lock (for pool safety). This will also carry data and other comms from main house.

Nice arrangement! Does your arcade get a lot of play? I made some good space by saying goodbye to my cabs.

And security/webcams if desired (along with Cat5e). And a nicely located WAP to saturate the room if needed.

My game room is always evolving. At some point soon, I'll be out of floor space, so it's time to subtract. Just can't bring myself to do it.

Some of those games are too new to have taken decades to collect, that’s just some serious cash there.

After this weekend's addition of Aerosmith and the sorting of the Megatouch, it's starting to come together.

Any suggestions for another arcade next to JP? No more pins (for now )

Nice game room, but I would definitely move the pinball machines away from the windows and put some shades on windows as it will definitely cause sun fading damage.

New arcade room build. 28x28, wonder how many pins it will hold.. 4 20a breakers.

Thanks! They’re available for not too much (compared to a pin at least!). I added a Sonos Port inside so it connects to the rest of the audio in the house.

Thanks. Totally agree. Blinds are on order and they’re covered in the meantime. (I almost didn’t post pics until the shades were up for this exact reason

It looks like there are two doors at diagonal corners which don't appear to be accurately depicted.

Yup, also factor in the windows.. it's nice to have access to those + you need some shades to protect colors, so may not want to put games smack in front of those windows..

    #16847 3 years ago

Who needs doors and windows when you could have more machines??

    #16848 3 years ago

And, if you gotta remove the glass - which you will constantly - you won't be able to do it unless you move machines. Every machine, even the aisle cleared machines.

Also, forget about having side clearance to actually hit the buttons and play the machine. Or have an onlooker watch you play.

    Then, let's discuss power requirements......

I would hope the rectangles are based on backbox width with a little room so the machines to bang into each other. IF that is the case, plenty of room to use the flipper buttons.

    #16850 3 years ago

    boxes are 30" x 60"

Minimum distance between is 48". Tight, but the glass can still come out. Of course, as a lot of us know, the goal is to have as many machines as possible. However, there's quite a bit of time between building a room and having a few machines, to getting a room completely full. I would plan on setting up ceiling outlets in certain areas though over areas that might be islands.
