No worries at all, I looked back at the pictures and I should have turned them on and cleaned up some of my son's mess, I was just happy I actually took the pictures but next time I will do a better job for sure! Whenever that may be....

I was within inches of purchasing two of these machines in the early 80s for $3300 each. The distributor showcased these machines in Chicago when they were first offered, boasting about how they're controlled by a microprocessor which was revolutionary at the time (I think it was a Z80), and you could change the playfield by simply unbolting and unplugging the connectors, replacing it with another theme. They also guaranteed in writing that you would recoup your investment within 24 months, sharing your take 60/40 with the establishment that they would find for you (restaurants, bars, etc.). Really a win-win it seemed.

The main reason I didn't go for it was during their demo, the machine locked up and the displays all showed 8's. The other reason was their design was cocktail table style, and I noted that if you spilled your beer on the glass, it'd drip into the machine and no doubt damage components.

Two years later they were out of business. I have no doubt there were issues with their electronics. Their marketing seemed well thought up.

Here's how my gameroom use to look years ago. I think this was the best layout. I sold the Mills Do Re Mi juke and the Bally Spinner. I ended up picking up a Seeburg 100A, a Genco Skeeball and a CC Rocket shuffle. I have more stuff too but the shuffle and ski ball made me rearrange. Only one pin. CC Jukebox. I have four thirties pins and another which I can't think of the name right now, it's tucked away in a corner somewhere.

Funny thing is my son is crazy good at pinball, won the Alabama State championship a couple years ago at 16, drives me crazy sometimes how bad he beats me but once he learns a game it is over!

Gas meters in Chicago are in the basement. Meter readers use to come inside your house back in the day. Now they put new heads on so they can read them anywhere. Two flat. First and second floor. Electric is outside. That's why the Acme Roulette machine is there. I needed a low boy.

I’ve been a lurker for a long time and finally decided to post. Anybody running a disco ball
In there game room that want to show them off? I really want to add one with a laser light show.

Also, anyone have that TMNT redemption game? Super curious to see what it looks like in game rooms.

I have one to put up, haven't done it yet, but it's to go over the dance floor. Just don't want to drive the forklift over the floor so have to pull it up partly to get at the roof.

Great choice, Tommy didn't last that long here, but it would be a top machine for a one machine collection. I still have mates complaining about the loss and telling me it was their favourite machine. It'd still be here if it wasn't such high maintenance.

Thanks! Yeah, there was a Tommy near my house at a place I frequented in the 90's and I have always wanted it. Took a bit fixing her up but now she's as good as new!

We ran it of room in the house and expanded into garage. I have domes out there. I have one more to install in the poker area.

The run did get too long and I did have to separate some of the domes. But I have 12 in the house and over 300 feet in wire runs.

No it was just always something, caps needed doing, then the display would go out etc. I had a Tales from The Crypt too, and always a problem with it as well.

I just find Williams, Bally's and late model games need less maintenance. I don't do the maintenance myself, so it get's expensive and frustrating if a machine is out all the time. It's also difficult because my maintenance guy is a friend and refuses to take money, so i have to keep thinking about ways to shout him presents to the value of.

Are you running the Movie Poster App on a PC? If so, be aware that there are reports of it not working with anything newer than Windows 10 v1909. From what I've read, the developer tragically lost his 4 year old daughter, so I don't suspect you'll see him for a long time, or perhaps never. I have updates disabled on mine so I don't have to worry.

I initially tried it with a Asus VivoStick, but ran out of space because I wanted to use the trailers functionality. It also just didn't have the power necessary to play HD trailers. I swapped it out with a PC I built from parts I tested for NewEgg and threw it in my rack. The VivoStick was great for posters, but sucked for trailers.

You'll want a portrait mount for the TV too. This is the one I used.

But, you can't play the trailers on your poster TV though?? Trailers wouldn't look good in portrait orientation.

You might be getting the two poster apps mixed up. The Movie Poster App's developer sort of went MIA and there are issues that you're describing with newer Windows updates. He chimes in from time to time, but the app hasn't been updated in awhile (and some have given up hope of it happening). A lot of people moved over the Movie Now! app that runs on Raspberry Pi (I went this route and it's been rock solid), and the developer of that app's young daughter passed away a few months ago, but the current version of the app is running solid:

It will play the trailer in the lower half.

Excuse the cords. I plan to put an outlet behind the set up.

Where can the movie posters be downloaded? I joined up at theposterdb.com, that looks pretty decent. But the resolutions are all over the place. Also they seem to like 1.5 AR images, like 1000x1500. That doesn't match up with HDTV displays. Images should at least be 1080p (1920x1080) or 4k (3840x2160) which are 1.77 AR. (Of course, the resolutions are reversed for the portrait images, so actually it would be 1080x1920 or 2160x3840),

I haven't tried any of the poster display packages yet, I presume they will handle the odd aspect ratio automatically and add black space as necessary.

I use this site for a lot of them:

    http://www.impawards.com/

I've also gone to Heritage Auctions to pull down hi-res scans of older, harder to find posters (or if I haven't been happy with the quality of the scans of older posters at the above site).

    Regarding aspect ratio, went with a 55" screen to get as close as possible to 27 x 40 / 27 x 41.

I don't get it? You are spending time and effort to play commercials in your home? And it's for past events?

Not a criticism, i just try really hard to avoid commercials and don't listen to commercial radio or watch television for that very reason and don't understand why someone would want commercials playing in a room they are in.

If you are a movie fan, trailers (and posters) are not seen as commercials, but rather nostalgic works of art.
