We're totally re-theming this arcade which was originally just a waiting room for our escape rooms to an 90's style.

We're building this 80's 90's style mini golf behind it with all the escape rooms in front of it. We finally got the carpet it and most of the games. We have two more retro arcades coming but now ... we want to re-theme the walls.

Anyone know where we can buy some lighted backglasse boxes.

Let me know. Going to start theming the walls and adding some blacklights next.

I second this. I bought one a few months ago for an alternate Stern Star Trek translite and I LOVE it.

Current pics... did some re-arranging. Williams Comet was sold and Super Pac-Man and Lady Bug were moved in. Need to find some room for the claw machine. Scaled back the pins for now (not totally by choice, I had bills to pay so I had to be an Adult) But this did allow me to fit in a few more arcade games. All games working 100% Can't wait till corona is over to have people back over to play. Hope you like it!

Michigan, Ohio St, and Michigan St all next to each other. Sure theres a family story there. Nice lineup but Sterns POTC seems like an outlier in that group.

So the entertainment space is 90% done! Still a few cosmetic things here and there to purchase, but the bulk of it is complete. Its a combination arcade/speakeasy/diner/nano brewery complete with pretty much every amenity. Everything you see I built myself. The diner section though...that is all my wife's idea. Its her contribution to the space, and now that my closest friends have seen it and given me the "H#%Y S@#T" reaction, I think we have done well. The diner booths we got for free from a local place remodeling, and we picked the best out of the bunch without any rips in the vinyl to take. If anyone questions why my wife and I no longer go out and risk COVID, welp this is why!

I'm also a 12 year now home brewer, much of the detail I have already posted on my thread on the home brew talk forums. Feel free to check out the rest of the pictures there. I've included a few here to attract eyes hopefully. FYI that is a 16 tap keezer with a CO2 and Beergas nitro setup. If you want to see the build its on my youtube channel!

What's the loud noise everytime you turn any water on?

    #15862 3 years ago
    Quoted from drfrightner:

Check this out... for this interactive mini golf we're building we'll have a pinball hole. We took a very very very old super wide body and rebuilt it so it can shot golf balls instead of pinballs. We just finished retheming the cabinet. Once we get it all done it will have a real games beside for theming and I'll share some pics.

That is the 12 volt diaphragm pump. I did not plumb any supply water from the house, too expensive and not really needed for occasional use. The sink uses a 5 gal supply tank and has a 5 gal grey water tank.

I got a bead on a mini dishwasher where I'll be using two 7 gal tanks to run that, washes all the glassware after use. Only uses 2.6gal per cycle.

Things change in our game-room quite a bit, but here is the current lineup. Going to have to move things around to make room for Avengers. Not sure why the LED strips in TV room photograph so strong, perhaps one-day I will learn to use my iPhone Camera properly.

The Spectrum Analyzer isn't a game but still fun to watch and is always a popular conversation point when people visit for fist time...

I am currently building a second one and changing up design a bit so I will sell this one at some point. After that I’m done lol... too much damn sanding for the blocks. It takes several hours to do the 280 blocks correctly.

I watched the YouTube video, and read some of the comments. Basically every comment is the same as here, “I want one of those, how much, take my money”. The thing is so ridiculously cool that virtually no one can resist it. All the work is in those acrylic blocks, if someone could figure out how to crank those out in big quantities with some sort of manufacturing process they could sell lots of these I think.

There is something somewhat similar on Amazon, much smaller and nowhere near as cool, but it is all assembled and ready to go. They also sell them off AliExpress for cheaper if you don’t mind waiting for a shipment from China.

Without watching the video on how the blocks are made, wouldn't it be pretty easy to pay a plastics shop to cnc machine the acrylic blocks?

    #15885 3 years ago
    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

Without watching the video on how the blocks are made, wouldn't it be pretty easy to pay a plastics shop to cnc machine the acrylic blocks?

The blocks are cnc’d. BUT the front facing edge is sanded to give it a cloudy appearance instead of clear. I assume to hide the leds shining thru the acrylic. The video shows the guy sanding each piece by hand. I would think a belt sander or sanding block would get the job done in no time.

When it gets added please add a few photos of your machine?

It's so nice to get our pre-war machines properly represented on here.

I finally got around to clean and clear up one of the barns to have the space to transfer
games and items from the upstairs addition so I have the space to finish it off and
restore and set up more machines. I have plenty of machines that I had stored for
20/25 years to set up and fill the room..
I didn't take before pics, but just last month you literally needed to step over objects
in order to make it thru and to the other end of that barn.

Can you tell me a little bit about the slots you have? I get my dad a new slot machine every year and those look pretty cool. Do you mind me asking what those costs? Where you got them? How tall are they?

    Room looks great!

We had a professional photographer come and take pics recently. Personally, I think his pics and/or editing are terrible. The colors aren't right, the pics are all too bright and the games are "ballooned" and made wider by some weird lense.
