    Quoted from gliebig:

I need to invest in a couple of those as my basement has no HVAC. How much for the unit and installation?

We installed one after redoing the basement because it was suffocatingly hot down there in the summer. Whisper quite and wonderfully cool. I believe we paid about $3,000 for equipment and installation after energy rebates. Make sure to use a reputable company and ask if there are rebates available in your state.

I need to invest in a couple of those as my basement has no HVAC. How much for the unit and installation?

Unless your basement is huge you'd probably be fine with one. I bought the Pioneer 24k BTU unit here: ebay.com link: PIONEER 24000 BTU 17 SEER DC Inverter Ductless Mini Split Heat Pump Set 230V

HighSeer is an authorized distributor of the unit and their ebay store is the cheapest by a few bucks, so I got it there. I also bought the wireless dongle and the wall mount bracket. The total for the hardware was ~$1300 shipped and I paid $1000 for installation. So around $2300 total. It instantly made such a huge difference and was super worth it. I struggled to get my basement below 75 in the summer, so it was bad when a lot of games were on. The installers left the door open most of the day and the unit cooled the basement from 85 to 70 in a matter of minutes.

Chances are you could install it yourself, but if you don't have it installed by a licensed HVAC tech then you won't qualify for the warranty.

    #15203 3 years ago

I bought the same unit above but from amazon for my garage. Electrical ran about 600$ and 400$ For an ac tech to finish the install. Me and a friend cut the hole in the wall and installed the unit. Around 2400$ and so worth it as it cools and heats my garage in Vegas.

Do you like the Time Warp pin? I've seen one that looks to be in great shape for $800.00 but I've never played it.

Not a bad pin especially at that price. You cant go wrong. Add it to your collection and enjoy the variety.

Oh yes! I’ve been enjoying it a lot. The banana flippers bring in a new challenge to gameplay.

I, for one, would happy play a Diner rethemed to "Is the Order a Rabbit?". Gun handle ball shooter and fluffy angora rabbit topper are 100% required.

Just did. It was bad ass. Now if there was a My Hero Academia Pinball retheme, I would be crying smiling because it’s my favorite anime of all time next to Fullmetal Alchemist & Attack on Titan.

This is exactly what I was thinking, JJP POTC just doesn't fit with the theme of the room, great game though for variety, just a little off from the Medieval theme.

Yeah I have been recommended MMr several times but the game just doesnt do it for me. I have played it several times at LSOG and had the chance to get a Royal edition but just didnt want it.

Hobbit is the newest addition and is now a family favorite. I figured POTC would be my best bet.
Aesthetically I think it somewhat fits with the castles and dungeons and stuff. I know its not pure Medieval but it has some of the vibes.

Is there a preference in paint sheen for the walls of a semi-arcade? I'll just have 3 pins and a variety of other games, but the room is right off my foyer (originally a formal LR & DR) with a 9 foot opening to the foyer so it won't be a cave-like atmosphere. White ceilings, Navy walls.

But I keep going back and forth between flat (my usual preference) and Satin that will throw some reflection off the games and a few neon signs I have. But not sure if that reflection is a good or bad thing.

I always go with an Egg Shell finish it's actually in between, not as shiny as Satin and not as Flat as Matt. Check it out and I think you'll like it.

Do you have kids? If so, flat paint is a big mistake. I remind my wife about it every couple of weeks.

Eggshell will at least give you an opportunity to wipe almost anything off a wall.

Grandkids, but they are old enough not to worry about the walls. My problem with eggshell is touchups never seem to go well. They stick out like a sore thumb. Not sure if sheen level is much harder to keep consistent - or if they even try from brand to brand.
