Great party! Those kids on the Bubble Hockey were having a blast..
VERY envious of you with basements. Here in California, I had to settle with creating a "gameroom" with half of my 4-car garage. The biggest annoyance I deal with is the fluctuating temperatures while trying to enjoy the space. In the Summers, it can get a little toasty, and in the Winters, you best bundle up!

Me too. I've had a half-garage setup for years and finally said F it and started building a basement. 2 years later, don't do it. Almost done, but holy hell, I should have just moved homes.

Absolutely Gorgeous and very well laid out...Loved the Vintage stuff just as much as the arcade/pins!!!
Our game room is getting an overhaul this week. Back in July of this year we had a leak in our basement shower, it partially ruined the carpet. Filed a claim and the insurance company said it should be able to be repaired versus being replaced and that their policy was for the carpenters to come do the work first and if it wasn't adequate we could file another claim to have all of the carpet replaced. Well, it truly was not adequate. So filed another claim to have all of the carpet in the basement replaced (6 years old anyways), and took the money and put towards laminate. Crew comes out Thursday to start the install.
Here are some before and current pics. I'll post some in progress pics on Thursday along with completed pics this weekend.

You are going to have to move all those pins to replace the flooring? Ouch.
Quoted from jawjaw:You are going to have to move all those pins to replace the flooring? Ouch.
Moved them all to one side of the room for now. Once they start the flooring tomorrow and finish the one side, they will take a break which will allow me to move all the games back to their original location. I have a pinball lift, so it's relatively easy.

I like the chic color selection, minimalism and subdued lighting. Well done.
Quoted from Strummy:This has got to be one of my favorite parts of my game room. Most people that remember this brand will probably appreciate it.
The original Tall Boy, drank many of those when I was 18-19 yrs old.

I had a boss way back when who would judge distance on tallboys. I remember asking him how long it would take to get home from a job site. His reply was, "Oh about 2 tallboys"

My one and only Schlitz sign. Unusual and people wonder "what's a Schlitz?"

My dad had it on draft, my brother and me would sneak a few here and there. I still have the handle.

Yep. I lived in Chicago and it was common knowledge. That and Old Style.
Here we go. Basement makeover underway. Guys started at 945am. Doing a fantastic job.
Before and halfway finished pics.

Huge improvement. I highly recommend getting caster sliders or something to keep pins from scratching that beautiful new floor.
Looks good!! I did plank in my basement and love it. I bought little slider feet from Home Depot so the legs don't scratch the floor. Also I added kitchen anti fatigue mats in front of every pin. Helps keep the cold off your feet when playing, also makes for comfort on those rare long games
They did good work. That would have taken me atleast a week. Anymore I’ve got zero motivation for doing house projects.
I've got sliders for the legs, just didn't have them installed when I took the pictures. Atmosphere is so much better now than the grungy carpet.
Quoted from mollyspub:What did you use for vapor barrier? Did you have to post the pic of the dudes butt crack?
LMAO! It's like a car wreck, ya don't WANT to look..... How many people went back to see the buttcrack?! Be honest!
Quoted from yzfguy:How many people went back to see the buttcrack?! Be honest!
I saw it the first time... no need to go back
Didn’t see it the first time,
Not going back for the second time.
Once you see it, you can’t unsee it!

I installed infloor heating in my basement when playing pinball feet are nice and toasty since its cold up here.
Quoted from mollyspub:What did you use for vapor barrier?
Sometimes a vapor barrier isn’t required. You need to do a moisture test on the concrete and then check with the manufacturer of the flooring to determine if a vapor barrier is needed. In my case, the test back back well below the manufacturers maximum.
At that point they advised against a vapor barrier.
I would assume his contractor did the test before putting the flooring down.

Dude YOU just made me look!
Quoted from hlaj78:Looks like she’s losing the game of strip pinball.
Or...is she winning??
Ah! We are ALL winners here
