You should call your arcade room Finger Bangers!

    #13904 4 years ago
    Quoted from BR80:

This is NOT my game room and does NOT have any pinball machines, but think it still qualifies for this thread. The owner calls it a 'Turn of the Century Penny Arcade', but really it's a stunning collection of museum quality pieces. He started out 35+ years ago collecting EMs, but turned to antique arcade machines shortly afterward. Thought a few here might enjoy it.

I had a mini Monaco GP in my game room and it was the most popular game with the neighborhood kids. And the big kids.

That penny arcade collection is very impressive

I saw one very close to it in Ohio really amazing pieces and serious pricetags on them.

    Really neat stuff

We recently renovated an area of our basement. Figured I'd share some pictures of our new gameroom here:

    Woodrails:

    Pano:

    Pano4000.jpgPano4000.jpg

During that process I designed a custom, animated, 7.5' wide, neon sign:

    ClaytorArcade.gifClaytorArcade.gif

...and here's the sign with me mugging next to it for scale:

    ClaytorArcadeRyan2000.jpgClaytorArcadeRyan2000.jpg

Finally, here's a youtube video of the neon...animating away:

Lots of great gamerooms on here! I've certainly combed this thread a fair amount looking for inspiration. Keep 'em comin'!

whats the blue thing that appears in the animation ?

Yup. It's a saying that my dad used to tell me as a kid all the time. It's got some personal and family significance...

    Quoted from pinmister:

    Hi Pinmister,

Well, I don't know if I want to go quoting prices for my neon fabricator, but I'm happy to give out his information and you can chat with him personally about your specific project:

    Josh Goodarcre
    The Neon Shop
    Website: https://www.facebook.com/neon4u2
    Phone: (5one7) 4two0-one2zero7

He's REALLY responsive to text or phone calls and he worked with me closely on the project to make sure it wasn't just right but PERFECT (I'm a picky artist and he MASTERFULLY reproduced my design...I even held up my original design mock-up on my phone next to the finished sign once it was installed and showed him, "Josh! Look at this! It's PERFECT!" ...and I don't say that lightly.). He produces things in a timely manner, follows through on promises, and on top of all that he's reasonably priced, too.

We've even built a working relationship after our design/fabrication collaboration on my sign you see above. Since that time, I've started doing neon design work on a couple of other projects with Josh, so if you're interested feel free to contact either him or me. He's especially interested in producing CUSTOM signs (like mine and a couple of others I've recently designed, rather than simply reproductions...although he's great at that, too), and he'll deliver anywhere in the 48 contiguous states.

Pardon the pitch, but, I had a TREMENDOUS experience with him and I can only assume you will too.

P.S. I visited him at his shop about a week ago as he was producing another sign I designed (not for me, but another client). I'll leave you with some process pictures here and I'll return to post an image/video of the final product.

This is just my current garage setup. There's a few arcades on the left side also. Going to rearrange and swap games to open it up for Halloween for everyone to play also.

Three game rooms now and more or less out of space. One game (WONKA LE) away from my dream collection. Still such a fun hobby, I’m hooked for life.

Some changes in the line-up. Space station left (and as much as i loved it when i bought it i am glad it has left the building). POTC left, haven't missed it since, bought and sold a CFTBL, BoP has been fully restored and added a The Munster and a Guardians of the Galaxy.

I also got my kong off collection almost complete.

    Can anyone help?

I've been trying to track down a game room video that was linked in this thread (amongst the 279 pages) at some point, but I'm not having any luck finding it again. It has to be the most unbelievable game room, consisting of multiple levels, 10-20 different areas, hundred+ pinball machines, a bar etc etc etc. It is mind blowing!!! and I have to see it again.

Anyone remember? Sadly my YouTube searching ain't working.

Probably Jorge5240 he has a whole house that serves as his game room. Just look up his post on this thread.
