    I really love that pattern...

Thanks so much. Can’t wait to finish the room. More pics coming.

    Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

18000 game retropie... all arcade games from pre 1995 plus a bunch of home systems 6 button layout.... in reality, mostly simpsons, raiden, nba jam, tapper, and tetris. Its the perfect scale dor my young kids.
    Thanks!

How easy/hard is that to convert? Cost involved?

    #13653 4 years ago

I'll be honest, I paid someone off of facebook marketplace to do it. I think all and all I'm in ~$700 on it, with someone else doing all of the labor for me. That included having the Asteroids machine, riser, 6 button joystick setup from a Street Fighter machine, lit buttons, amp, and coin buttons.

I'd rather have a full sized setup, but this is much smaller and the perfect scale for my kids (2, 5, and 7).

It works very well for most of the old arcade games. Arcade classics, bullet hell games, and beat em ups are all well suited from this setup.

However, 10k+ of the other games are virtually unplayable because of limited controls. Imagine trying to play Super Mario Kart 64 on this setup.

All in all I'm very happy with this setup, and will upgrade to a full sized machine when the kids are bigger.

I'm guessing you could do this yourself for $400 all inclusive, but would put 10-20 hours into it if you've never done one before.

There are a few more pics and threads on my setup in another thread here.

A bunch of conversion/upgrade parts are on that site. There's a group on Reddit that is pretty helpful with converting them and probably quite a few videos on Youtube showing what can be done.

Just bought our new house about 3 months ago, and we decided to make a game/fun room. Just starting to take shape. Bought a Metallica Pro just for the fun of it about 2 months ago, and decided to follow it up with a Monster Bash LE (waiting on topper to arrive) just the other day.

Plan is to put a pool table where that random table is at. And then over the next course of years will be adding about 8-10 more pinball machines in the corner of room not shown (now just need to get the wife on board).

The thing I miss most after selling my billiard table was the loss of surface area to place parts while shopping games.

Those two pins are certainly a great start!!

I like the simplicity of this setup. Movie room and a couple games on the side for a break. I wouldn't change a thing.

So I have a gameroom in my basement just added Wonka will take some new pics there... but check out my home away from home gameroom. We have a haunted house and I bought damn near every horror themed pinball and added it to the exit of our haunt. So you have horror themed pins surrounded by monsters, autographs, and so much more. Check it out. If you're ever in St Louis stop by... these pinballs are only avail to play in September, October and early November. After that they sit there doing nothing, other than we open for one day for Christmas, Valentines and one special event in March. Yeah they just sit there year around.

For a second I thought these pics were your basement and was like HOLY CRAP!!! But then re-read your post, and while not the basement, an awesome execution of theme at your business!

    Well done!

Awesome looking place to hang out and play some pins. Just need a Class of 1812 to round out the campy horror theme.

I love powder coating, I powder coat almost everything. I just powder coated my Batman 66 sparkling purple. LOL Our haunted house is considered across the nation as one of the most detailed. We have some pretty amazing detailed Hollywood movie style sets... so when I started doing pinball I tried to improve the look of them with mods, sideblade art, color screens, and other things. Pretty much all of my games are either powder coated, new cabinet art, different back glass art, I do that to everything. Come on by sometime we'll show you around and put everything on free play!!!

Yes I know that is on my list of games I want to buy. Dude but please don't plant the thought (LOL) The side where the pinball games are use to be filled with lifesized monsters and i figure out a way to put them all on the right side. My impulses are to get rid of more monsters to find places for even more pinball games. LOL I know I'm crazy. But yes 1812 is a game I want its amazing game. I also have Ghostbusters wanted to find a place for that game I have no more room!!! Yikes.

Come by sometime!!! Everyone is welcome to come on we could have a Halloween pinball party. I can supply the candy! You would be blown away by all the autographs on the wall there is over 200 and I got most of them in person. Some I didn't like Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, etc. Send me an email if you ever want to come by.

And if its going to be a party with monsters... Definitely need scared stiff's older sister Elvira and the Party Monsters
