Hey, those short arcade cabs are nice. Lots of upper-space for storage/stuff. Home-made or Manufactured?

They are early models of the Namco re-releases...current model is Pac Man’s Pixel Bash.

    Left to right:
    Space Invaders/Qix Silver Anniversary
Pac Man’s 25th Anniversary (with Ms Pac Man and Galaga)
Donkey Kong/ Donkey Kong Jr./ Mario Bros.

Note: I’ve been on the hunt for a Class of ‘81 cabaret version with Ms Pac Man and Galaga ..... if anyone runs across one, let me know!

    Love the black light carpet.

    Quoted from Cobray:

Holy Shit! How much did that thing cost?? (that's what everyone on here really wants to know). Congrats, sir! That game is amazing!

It was 16k. I wouldn’t admit spending that kind of money to the average person but people here buy more expensive games than that. It really completes the room.

The guy who dropped it off said it was the nicest he has seen and he deals with a lot of celebrities in the so cal.

I want to thank Tony O from Betson who had been awesome to deal with and Jeff who delivered the game was also amazing. If you want something special PM me and I will pass on their info. They were great to deal with.

    #13354 4 years ago

That's reasonable but hell I thought the one I saw for 31k wasn't that far out either. Man I got a problem for sure. LOL. Now you have to make a video of your awesome space.

    Quoted from Yelobird:

While collecting Many of the amazing ideas from this thread we decided to undergo (literally) a game room expansion Under the house via excavating the entire crawlspace. My hope is to end up with a game room half as nice as some of the ones shared here.

Since youre gonna have Pinball’s down there, make sure that you have at least 13 courses of block ABOVE the finished floor and go 14 if you can. This will give you 8 1/2 to 9 feet of height. And while you’re at it, put in a man door of at least 36 inches wide. You will be glad everyday you use it.

Kicked off this years summer movie nights with some grilling and pinball before the outdoor movie.

First time all the games have been played at the same time, and I’m happy to report that everything was a success!

Hope everyone’s having a great weekend!

We are at 8 1/2 foot deep concrete no block and the man door access is a 12’ Wide opening to the other room. Should fit through well.

Played that at level 257 in Chicago. It truly is a Awesome game!! Congrats!!

O boy am I hurting this AM. I have crossed over and am now 40, those hang overs hurt a lot more now!

Had a bunch of people, probably over 30, for my wife’s birthday, with half being kids. They loved everything and BattlePod got so much play. I love pinball but love all arcades more! It brings me such joy to see kids playing all the different games. In a perfect world they would all just play pinball but that is not the case. I am fighting against fortinite and every time they have fun in the house it is a win!

I totally agree but this was my dad’s dream purchase so I went in halves with him. So it ended up costing me less than a NIB LE. Will I get my money out of it like those games? Probably not but life is short and this was a dream piece. Sometimes u got to go for it!

Only one day in but the kids are loving it and that brings a big smile to my face!

Also my wife was talking shit because she thought it would be too big but it fits perfectly!

Next year a JP and some more pinball and then I will be done!!! (Yeah right)

To watch all the kids play the different games was so
Much fun. Yes, I bought a beer pong table and the teenagers were going crazy on it with their parents permission. But it was the fact of introducing them to something new. Not sitting there staring at their fucking IPhones. Maybe I will get flamed but if my kids can make relationships and deal with people, I am of the belief they will be successful.

    Hungover rant completed.

    The night was successful.

Now to go throw up in the corner before anyone wakes up!

I'm the same! I absolutely love my games but get even more pleasure watching others play them when we have a get together ..speaking of that I'm having a bunch of friends and their kids over tonight so yesterday most of the day I made sure everything is top notch and ready to rock! Maintenance and sharing is another huge part of these game hobbies I love! Party on and that POD is Incredible

How did you manage to get it through the doorway - is it easy to disassemble and be put back together?

I believe it went into his garage part of the "Game House".

Yes. We did not dissemble it. Just shoved it in the garage. I have taken apart my share of games but there is no way this one was making it in the house. That is why we expanded into the garage, some things just would not fit
    in the house.

I have a rather small downtown house with only a small back storage room to work with. Space constraints pushed me towards exploring things beyond pinball machines, like the artwork and other coinop machines.

It's pretty tight in there. (just under 200 sq ft for the game area)

Hell can't be that small with all that stuff in there! I like the pachinko machines. The first two are they pachislo or pachinko?

    18
    #13377 4 years ago

Here's my latest lineup. I have permission to use the space between the 2 doors. I had room for 1/2 a pin... so ARCADE1-up retropi multicade it is! JP and ST:TNG are incredible. LAH is technically pinball and is a place saver for now.

I think its about 9.5'x20'. just under 200 sq ft
First two machines are pachinkos, specifically of the arepachi and hanemono varieties.

got any cabaret-sized marquees for sale?
There is also space above the Triple Strike but I have a Astro Blaster marquee to go there, and maybe an old Meteor backglass to accompany the Pin*Bot... 63 marquees in total, only one is a reproduction.

I don’t think it would ever fit through a standard door. Set up it is 6 feet by 5.5 feet and weighs 825 pounds. I know it comes apart into two pieces but fortunately we did not have to do that to get in the garage but is huge.

That is how they got it on the trailer. It took seriously like 8 large dudes to get it off the trailer and into the garage. Without all the people we would have had to take it apart for sure. Got lucky that it was Memorial Day and had lots of friends around.

Not exactly a game room pic, but figured it can't hurt to post a picture of the floating movie screen I built. This is from a few years ago, I made some improvements since then, it's actually a bit wider now. Only problem is I still haven't figured how to take it down easily. So I have to break stuff every year. When it's not being used I winch it up and park it near the house. Cuts down on the potential wind damage.

A+ for ingenuity and creativity but could you explain why you would do this?? Lol.

If you need more distance I get that but how does that screen not move and become a distraction even on a calm day?

thanks, I really love the variety of continents and decades represented.
Funny thing is, my collection is probably worth less than what other people here have spent on 2 NIB Jersey Jack machines. It just involved a lot of digging, networking, and help from many other pinheads across Canada and America.

Hmmm, I think it started out with a conversation like "wouldn't it be cool if....", then of course there was a lunch bet on whether I could build it and if it would actually float. There are indeed pipes driven into the muck, so it doesn't move much at all. It is fun to listen to people's reactions when they canoe by (there's a rental place down stream). Lots of "Holy S#!ts" and some confusion. One guy asked if it was for hitting golf balls in to, haven't tried that yet.

I'm guessing you left out a couple of details. As in: "I was having some cool beverages with friends when someone said "wouldn't it be cool....."

And "I was having some cool beverages with friends eating lunch one day when my best friend said "there is no way in hell you can build it and get it to float" to which I replied "Piece of cake, I'll bet you..."

(I've discovered that the best (and worst) ideas often begin with cool beverages
    )
