Well, no. It actually starts with two pinball machines. Male and a female. And you didn't realize it when you bought them.
Somehow, they mate and reproduce. The collections you see here are products of offspring.
    That's my story anyway.

Agreed and they are on a strict diet of bank accounts only! Lol

I knew putting that T2 next to my Mata Hari would cause trouble !!!

No, I started with just one game. But I think I fed it after midnight.

Is there some posts about the best lighting for a pinball gameroom?
I'm building one in my flat (a bedroom to be modified in gameroom), but I don't know what lighting to install.
I'm thinking about indirect lighting, to avoid glare. But what kind of indirect lighting, what lighting power...
If you already dealed with this question, any advice is welcome.

I have recessed lights in my game room. They are LED's retrofits in the old incandescent cans. Even with the lense/filter plastic deal to diffuse the light, there is glare. The one can light just above my games, I have to keep turned off due to this glare. So not so much advice of what to do, more just something to avoid if possible.

Bam(!), I've seen a few panels on a wall but never a whole wall!

nanoleaf is also fully programmable by the way, so one could program things like wall-size pacmans or pinball themes moving in real-time etc. Imagine wall-size dots from a DMD game moving in real-time across the entire wall! Possible with nanoleaf (but would have to write some code)

Okay... So not a good image... But, I have so badly wanted to post in this thread for awhile. My Iron Maiden is in another room, and so far that is the only pin in that room. What is funny is, the room Iron Maiden is in, is supposed to be the main pinball room. But, I have floor issues I need to sort out. I think if I am lucky I can put 2-3 more Pins in that room and then I am tapped out of space in my house... Then I shall have to move to a bigger house!!!!!!

Room is a mess, and you can just barely see my Monster Bash in the right hand side of the photo. Along with some of my paintings. Not my favorites, and that is the only bummer about this room. It used to be my art gallery. Now its a pinball arcade, as my pins obstruct my art. No biggie, the pins do look better.

Raven is in the process of being worked on. My never ending process. I think I probably will finish sinbad off before I start and finish raven.

It’s been a productive weekend so far! More progress on the game room and getting closer to moving the pins in!

I got the first coat of paint on the walls, once that’s done, the carpet comes out and the black light carpet tiles go down.
Feels good to be turning down the final stretch.

(Paint color is: Dutch boy “anchors away”)
(Bottom photo is under Black light)

    Quoted from MustangPaul:

I threw one in the picture above, it’s the square in the frame of the black light photo. It’s the joy carpet “nebula” tiles. They are 1x1m and have a post it note style reusable adhesive on the back. So easy installation, and if anything happens to one, replaceable.

Hard Body is kind of a dream theme for me. Also, so is Raven... I'm actually planning on retheming Raven slightly to make her look more intimidating.Plus I also plan on making custom toppers for both games. And I want to do vinyl sides for Hard Body with more pictures of Rachel.

Sadly I need to get Hard Body working again. Raven works, but needs to be gone over as I think the coils are all just way too weak.

Now that is a perfect game room! Complete with 70's wood paneling, neon lights. And when it's a nice evening you can open up that garage door and be a open air bar!!! For me this would be a perfect game room!!!!

    Thanks!

I am a product of the 70's (thank goodness!) and it's all pure nostalgia for me!

    Quoted from advans13:

The pool table light has a special meaning for me. I started playing pool at a very young age and one of my pool heroes was the great Steve Mizerak. Well in 1978, Steve did this commercial:

And that was my hook to the brand Miller Lite! So, my pool table light pays homage to the "The Miz"... and completes my 70's look!

Got a few of their triangle panels, which are very neat, but not THAT many!

Not wall/ceiling mounted in the PinShed yet though - hardest part is deciding on the design - will post when done.

    #12985 5 years ago

I have 30 panels ready to install. Will just put them on the ceiling, indeed hardest part is to make the design. Those 30 already set me back a lot , wonder what a wall will cost.

I looked into the nanoleaf canvas, for one of my walls. Not a terribly large wall, and I think I came to the conclusion that it would have cost somewhere around $3500 to cover it... so I went with 60 of the triangles!

Love the ceiling cove lighting. Can’t quite see the details on my phone... is this cove molding with led strips above/behind or some other setup? Trying to decide how to best achieve this effect in my gameroom.

It's trim that I routed out so I could install it on an angle away from the wall (to create a small space between it and the wall) and then led strips. Hopefully this helps a bit.

It's essentially a normal touchscreen PC monitor with wires running through the wall under the stairs to a PC and amplifier for the inwall speakers above the pins and a subwoofer below. The PC is running a program called "albumplayer" with a theme that I modified to remove any type of admin and settings features, etc. This way it's fool proof and people can't accidentally screw things up. They can create playlists, search songs, change volume, things like that but all else is hidden and requires me to input key combination from a keyboard to show everything else. It's locked down on "party mode". All music is stored locally on an SSD. I think I have around 60,000 songs on it, bunch of albums, all different genres and I update it with the latest billboard charts because the girls like to dance to club beats. If it's playing and nobody has selected any new songs for a playlist it will auto dj from whatever folders, artists, genres, etc I allow. Easily one of the most used items in my game room and fairly cheap to get setup, just requires a bit of time setting it all up and keeping it updated every few months. Not everyone that comes over is a gamer but everyone loves music and there is something on there for everyone.
