Sure wish I could be there for the Grand Opening.
Quoted from jaytrem:I know a little about flooding. Can't believe my sump pump couldn't keep up! Didn't own any pins at the time, they would now be priority #1.

Uffta sorry to see that. Same happened to me. This is the entrance to my neighborhood in 2011

Same here! I think there will be sever soft openings so I wont be "pinball tech" for one big event
Quoted from Deaconblooze:That looks great! What kinds of lights are those running around the room?

I have to shoot some pics of mine one of these days, but my basement isn't finished like a lot of you guys and have to say a lot of these game rooms are very, very impressive!

22 pins is very impressive also!
ok I finally got everything sorted. Gingerballs is my vpin , the left HS5 is a Darksoft Multi CPS2, the cab next to it is just a JAMMA cab waiting for the DarksoftCPS1 Multi. The Neo Geo has a Darksoft Multi MVS cart. The 2 unfinished driving cabs are in the garage along with the empty midway cab and my Area 51/Max Force is in storage

All it takes is time and money. I've got no one to tell me no.
My gameroom has experienced flooding this evening.. I'm still in the process of renovating as well. FML!

Oh no, how bad. I had a little in one spot in my laundry room yesterday because of the rain but not too bad. It was coming in behind the wash machine so I had to move it out of the way and had to put a shop vac to suck it up as it was coming in. This morning it's all nice and dry.

My walkout had about 4-6 inches of standing water outside of the entry. This found it's way into the house and it soaked into the carpet. It could have been much worse but still sucks. My gameroom being out of commission is really been tough lately.

Roflmao! That was good! It doesn’t work. Was here when I bought the house. Keep it there long enough it’ll be “vintage “ and worth something!

I can't stop laughing!

Ditto....
I just checked the basement this morning. The game room I’m currently working on in the back of the house is dry, but the front room where the pins are currently sitting got wet. The cheap hardwood laminate floor is curling. Thankfully anything that isn’t on legs was sitting on the tile, which stayed dry. But I really wasn’t planning on having to redo the front room... This sucks....
I guess it could have been a lot worse.

Oh wow that looks pretty rough. I'm thinking I'll be lucky enough to salvage my carpet by cleaning the shit out of it I don't think it's as bad as I thought it would be. Where do you live that's getting all the flooding?

All that's gotta come up and let the subfloor dry for a week or so with a dehumidifier running. You know where the water came from?

Few factors that really played into my misfortunes. This winter we have had being the main one. I've never an issue until this year with it but yeah I will need to figure something out for the future.
Here's some updated progress pics of my renovation. Got all the sheetrock up and I'm ready to mud and sand! Getting closer and closer! Monster Bash LE made it before the completion so I can't really enjoy it as much as I should right now.

I've got a dehumidifier running, I'm clearing any remaining snow from around the foundation. We are new to the house and I think the problem is a simple drain pipe that runs under the ground in that corner of the house. I will get an elbow and just run a drain pipe away from the house. Our last house had a similar issue, and we never had a wet basement again after that simple fix. Hopefully that is the case. I'll still get some professional advice once the ground clears, so it wont happen again.

Hope that's the case for you. We are in White Bear Township, and the yard is relatively flat which doesn't help. But for as bad as this last week has been with snow/rain/temp I'm thankful that it is as minimal as it is. We still have a bunch of boxes in the basement that we haven't unpacked and that all could have been soaked with just an inch of water... Hopefully the worst is over, and now I've got some landscaping projects for spring!

I used to love that off-road game!
It’s a three car garage...third bay is flex space....off road is a great multiplayer game. Kids love it.

I think the worse is over with atleast I hope. Yeah my basement stinks right now and is still damp. Been trying my best here but I'm so sick of it already lol

That really sucks man. I feel so badly for your situation. We moved into a new house this time last year and it has a walkout basement (where my gameroom is located) with a very level lot. I was super worried about where the water would go as the 3 feet of snow started melting. So last week before the rain and warmup I took my snowblower and relocated most of the snow within 15’ or so of the house and also cleared a path for any melting snow coming off the roof. I think it helped. We did have water within about a inch or so of our threshold, but it didn’t make it inside.

Hi ted. Looks very nice. You have made some upgrades since I came by to pickup Austin powers

If you had a Pinball Gathering, I think I would make the trip..
Looking for some advice.
If games are going to be directly across from each other, what is a good space to have.
Do I need the entire length of a game so I can remove/replace a game?
Trying to do the math for a (near) future new game room.

If they are going to be straight on I think you want about 2x game length of open space between games (coindoor to coindoor).
If they are angled then a single game length of open space should be sufficient.

Make sure you can take the glass off without having to move anything.
More space is better. If you end up with too much space, get more games

In my opinion five feet is the minimum, which allows enough room to remove playfield glass and have two players back to back and still pass through (tight). Six feet is even better. If you allow 15' width minimum for a module (Pin/Space/Pin), that will work.
If you're typically playing alone, I would say at minimum the amount of space required to slide out the glass. If you need to get a game in and out, it will be a pain, but you can turn some machines to get some space around it.
If you want space to be playing back to back, I usually figure about 3 feet for stance depth (so 6 feet between games in your case). Of course, some people would love some more space for their acrobatics, but that should suit most sane people just fine.
Quoted from DylanFan71:If games are going to be directly across from each other, what is a good space to have.
With EMs, I have around 165" wall to wall, and like 58" in between games leaving me plenty of space
to walk backwards while sliding the glass out with a few inches to spare..
Quoted from ZNET:When your gameroom is your unfinished basement, such are the challenges.
Paint the ceiling (I did red), walls (white), and floor (grey). Spraying the ceiling works best, especially if you get a painter to do it. Gives it a nice finished look without having to get a permit. Not having to get a permit mean no higher taxes
