That’s it, time to bail on that entire setup, find a place that is 2X bigger, start all over and build an even awesomer one.
(Living the game room life vicariously through your place)
Here is my current line up for my game room. Its packed. I can only fit 7 pins in there. My EM games are in the garage along with 2 Taxis. But I really like my line up. I know to get something different I gotta give up one of these in the game room. So many great games out there. gameroom.jpg

Hey all it take is money.
My own little oasis to chill, listen to tunes, suck at pinball and sip some drinks. Very thankful these days. Cheers!

Napster Neon and Metallica Pin? Is that even allowed to be in the same room together? Be careful with that picture up on here.

Yeah right? That is a one-off used for an event I was part of. It was going to be thrown out after, but glad I rescued it. Lot of waste in the old music days. And look what happened. The irony is that Napster, in part, paid for all of this.

Aren't ya going to have to have constant air conditioning/ climate control in there? My shed gets hot as hell inside.

Totally understand where your coming from regarding climate (got family in Rockland County), but the Northern California climate is more relaxed.
I’ll place a few heater mats on the floor in the winter and a little fan by the vents during the summer. It should all work out fine. It’s a lean to with metal roofing.

It does not exist if you have kids
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:It does not exist if you have kids
Amen to that!!! I just bought my first NIB Metallica Premium recently!! That really hurt saving money to outright buy it with Kids. I have two kids in daycare that is has a "low" monthly cost of $1400 a month!!!! That is almost matches my house mortgage!
I'm waiting for the day my kids are no longer in daycare to save of some of it to buy more pins. Until then, I check this thread to see other pinheads collections.

LOL, after daycare comes even more expenses.....it only gets worse

Im 29, childfree, slowly building up a pin collection. Its nice

That's cheap compared to other states. In Mass the number of kids per teacher is limited to 7 I believe and the same daycare you have (2 kids) is $750+ a WEEK.
Quoted from yzfguy:LOL, after daycare comes even more expenses.....it only gets worse
We spent probably close to 22,000/year on childcare prior to the kids going to preschool. No expenses prior to college came close to that thankfully. College is more, but with 529 investments and the rising market over last few years, our cost/year has been much less.
Quoted from littlecammi:Is that all? I've heard of something called "discretionary income" but I've never actually seen any of it. Does it really exist?
Yes it does. But some have more then others.

Man, that is a kick in the nuts. I was lucky enough to be in a place where my wife could
Stop working until our kid hit kindergarten.. then she got a job and we got him in after school care - "only" 350/month and I -almost- got to write it off Our taxes last year. Puts it in perspective to hear the other war stories. Damn!'

Yes, my friends are looking to pay $4000 for the daughter to get on a club team for volleyball. FOR.ONE.SEASON.
No kids here haha
Kids.
The highs, and the lows, but always so rewarding.
People searching for the meaning of life should try a family, you’ll either find what you’re looking for, or forget you even went looking due to the lack of free time!
No regrets (...except every pin or other luxury item I don’t own because of kids).
Daycare costs are my #1 expense, much higher than my mortgage even. I wouldn't have it any other way though, love having kids. If I didn't have kids I could have a huge gameroom with tons of pins and a Vette in the garage but somehow I just don't think I'd be as fulfilled.
b18b1fc87656126fef565c54ad3b0b79 (resized).jpgYeah, kids are the best. I'm glad I don't have to pay for childcare anymore but it's always something. I got triplets so expenses are just about always 3x. No complaints, though. All stuff gets old at some point. I would love to have a few more pins but even if I did, I would want a few more than that. I just feel really fortunate that I can have some pins and still pay the bills.
Quoted from weaverj:you can only play one pin at a time. four is plenty.
Says the guy with 3
Quoted from snakesnsparklers:Daycare costs are my #1 expense
No kidding. One year I paid 24k in daycare.
Quoted from yzfguy:LOL, after daycare comes even more expenses.....it only gets worse
Yeah, wait till the kids grow up and play competitive sports that require huge amounts of money per month.
And then because they're good, you have to put them in private school so they can have more time to practice.
I could buy a new Stern every 2 months.... just saying.
Still worth it though. Hopefully there's a scholarship in her future.
Maybe the title of this thread should be changed to "what people pay for child care"? Bring on the game room pictures!
Well, packed up the game room and moved them over to the new house. All I can say is the escalera rental was well worth it! Moved six pins and two multi game cabinets by myself... now I’ve just got to get the new basement ready for the pins!
(Picture of all the pins in the living room of the old house waiting to be loaded into the truck)
My game rooms are not anywhere close to most peoples in this thread. I am fairly new to pinball and only started out about two years ago. Right now I got 7 pinball machines and 3 arcade machines.
I got one game room inside of the house and one in another building (which can be seen in the background of the balcony picture).
For some reason the pictures ends up in a weird order the darker ones are from the workshop and the lighter ones from inside, the plan is to have 4 pinball machines inside once I am done renovating two more games in my workshop. I also got a lot of different stuff like kiddie rides, vending machines etc.

why do they pay somebody else to care for their kids?
I must be wrong I thought being a parent meant you took care of your children.
