    Quoted from Micky:

Where did you get all the towels from?

They are fleece blankets approximately 50"x60". I found them in internet searches. AC/DC was found at liquidblue.com. Aerosmith is an Aero fan club only thing, but someone was selling theirs on eBay. IM and WOZ were also on eBay (cheapest), but saw them at other online places also. TH - the only place I could find that was on Amazon. To me the key thing is to get them in a "portrait" layout/orientation so that it looks better. I had a different AC/DC blanket that was "landscape", but it didn't look right. I have a few more to find/get. I guess I'm a little odd with this, but some people are starting to use this idea too.

Here in the Cincinnati area you can take a picture to any Walmart and they will recreate the picture on a fleece blanket for you. I've had a couple done.

My modest little gameroom... hope to squeeze at least one more pin in here someday in the not too distant future... (The Galaga sign is NOT crooked! That seems to be an artifact of taking a panoramic picture on my iPhone!)

If you use the window to get in and out, you could probably squeeze two in there I’d say.

Always was the first thing for me to setup too. Priorities but also that's where the help was always needed the most.

    Quoted from Zavadoza:

Drooling at all that real estate. My kid's college would be in serious jeopardy if we had basements in south Texas.

They don’t really exist here in California either.... or at least so I thought. It’s not a massive under the entire house kind of thing but its a fair size (about 22’ x 26’) plus some storage space. After looking at houses for years and never seeing anything close to that we were sold instantly. Get the keys next Thursday!

Finally got all my games in a row. I have 2 projects that will be getting added to the gameroom eventually (Laser War and Escape from the Lost World).

That's a lot of incandescent light bulbs you have there!

    Looks like a great lineup.

Yep, the basement is an LED free zone! I've even taken full LED sets out of games, I just prefer the original glow of incandescents.

    #11116 5 years ago

I'll send you my pile of incandescent bulbs if you send me your pile of LEDs.

I keep incandescent bulbs in my EMs, but everything else is LEDs.

The update this time isn't about the games. I got the projector put in with Denon/Polk 5.1 surround sound and a custom-built 82'' screen thanks to the help of @needz. Up next is TV stand and cord control

Cool room and not the cookie cutter collection you usually see. Nice! TV does not look 82" your room must be bigger than it looks.

Finally bought a bigger house for more family game room expansion. Now, ironically I don't have any money to fill it. Sigh. Been three weeks probably time I unwrap the pins.

Normally it wouldnt be an issue but with a $3400 mortgage...... Not as much "FU" money as I had previously. I'll get some cheap arcades over the next few months then consolidate them into a new pin or two as things progress.

Warm White LED's are exactly the same. Of coarse it helps if you have an OCD LED controller.

Yeah, but do you go "retro" clear bulbs or frosted?

I have both but, frosted is better on eyes if the light is above the play field where it can catch your eye.

Google the SF Bay Area or the Silicon Valley, you will be surprised. Just glad I bought my home in 1990, I could not afford my home currently at today's prices!!

    #11143 5 years ago

Lots of places here in CA where that mortgage won’t get you a run down shack. Fortunately the central valley is still mostly farmland and halfway sane.

Out there a few weeks ago. Looked at a $1M 1200 sqft house (what I'd call an efficiency) in silicon valley. That's just bat shit crazy.

Safe and sound : )! We have a cover on it as AFM and TAF PFs are on top of it until I properly store them to ensure no warping of the wood as I get ready to do AFM's PF swap once I return home late August/early September20180722_135633 (resized).jpg20180722_135633 (resized).jpg

Ya, that's why I stayed in Michigan. Winters are too long and dark. It's why I own pinball machines. You need an indoor hobby here.
