Quoted from Blitzburgh99:That’s nice, and all....but at your age, you need your own place, a nice big comfortable couch to go along with all that cool stuff, and find a few chicks to hang out with. Then you will REALLY start enjoying what you’ve collected!
Quoted from PACMAN:Almost there. Need to paint the wood panel white. Thinking of making tiny labels showing which games each switch operates.
If you put lighted switches it would be like this...
You NEED to consider doing something like this. They can be made in 4-gang as well. I used standard arcade buttons, trimmed down to fit, then spaced out to work with the standard switches. All you do is replace the front trim with the button assembly. Blows peoples minds. You can do "all orange, pins, all green, arcades" and so on.

Or better yet No switches and a simple Alexa and staged names for different areas of the arcade. Way easier to me.

Alexa, lets play pinball
*one by one the pinballs turn on

That’s how I have mine setup. Plus it makes it easy as you change things up or move them around. Alexa is just to cheap not to embrace technology.
Quoted from Waldo:Then if you can figure out how to operate the secret door it reveals the rest of the Waldoplex.
Holly crap. Can I move in? Wow!
I decided to build a man cave in my garage, the size of the room is great, but will need too much work as well,
I wish I had pictures when I was building the garage, but at least I started somewhere toward the end,
here is some shots I took while working on this project, hope you enjoy !
Still need to move in TR and TH in, so much work still need to be done !

Holly wow. That’s your garage?! That’s impressive. My garage looks nothing like that. Great work!

That's a big space, plenty of space for more games. With all the hard surfaces what does it sound like?
Quoted from Yelobird:That’s how I have mine setup. Plus it makes it easy as you change things up or move them around. Alexa is just to cheap not to embrace technology.
I’m doing the same here. “Alexa, turn on arcade” turns on all the pins, the lights, and my pinball sign. I can also turn on/odd individual machines by name.
The only downside is it creates a current spike as all the machines are turning on almost simultaneously. I’ve asked amazon to add a feature to allow adding a delay between devices.
Quoted from PACMAN:I don’t trust Alexa. AI will kill us all one day.
I hear she turns off your pin if you get close to beating her high score
Quoted from MustangPaul:That's a big space, plenty of space for more games. With all the hard surfaces what does it sound like?
At first, too much echo, but with more furniture goes in, it get less and less, at the moment it's ok, I was ready to add acoustic panel to absorb echo, but at this point I don't see the need for it, and for preventing sounds to go out, my walls are basically divided into three layers, cement blocks -> rockwool > plasterboard.
Quoted from PACMAN:I don’t trust Alexa. AI will kill us all one day.
I work with the global lead digital forensics analyst for a major defense contractor.
Every time I use him as a seminar presenter, his one comment is, "Just because you can buy an Internet-connected refrigerator or an Internet toaster, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Every Internet link into your home today, can become a problem."
Besides, to me, part of the fun of having a game room is walking in and throwing switches and pushing the buttons and making each game come alive, LOL. But to each their own.
Quoted from twoplays25c:To me, part of the fun is walking in and throwing switches, LOL.
I do that A LOT in my gameroom.

Not sure I remember which one but there is an add on app in ITTT (if this then that) that allows power up groups to turn on in delayed sequence. Voice control is a really simple setup.

Haha at my age...lol...the couch will come, only the girls my wife and children will not appreciate.

You connect Alexa to your homes WiFi. Then you connect your thermostat, you connect your lights, connect your blinds, ect.
Whole home automation is the shit.....
Until that one day when you hear Alexa from across the house. “I noticed that you’ve logged onto pornhub, would you like me to close the blinds and dim the lights for you again”
Catching up with this thread again. I love everyone's ideas, from the very large arcades down to the tiny ones. Just goes to show you don't need a lot of money or space to have something cool to call your own.

Awesome conversion. Although I see why the process took a while. Either you or your helper was taking too many breaks. But I totally get it...hang drywall, spackle and sand vs. bash the Monger? I’m choosing the latter.
Quoted from PeterG:Haha at my age...lol...the couch will come, only the girls my wife and children will not appreciate.
Haha! My bad. I had you confused with the guy who’s still living in his parents basement. Please accept my apology

But looking at some of the over-the-top game rooms in this thread it sure doesn't hurt if you have a lot of both.
Some amazing game rooms in this thread! And its about time I showed my small project. Details can be seen in this thread of the build.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/arcadehome-addtion-build-out
And while turning on the games with voice is pretty cool, I opted for another way to do it. I'm just not fond of Alexa listening all the time.

You need a 'Warp Drive' button!

I guess the nuclear device cannot be activated unless both keys are inserted and turned to the "on" position.
Quoted from chalkup8:Haven't posted a pic here for probably 4 years.
So many wonderful game room images in this thread,I'm in awe.
Nice lineup and games room.
If you don't mind me asking, how big is the room? I'm looking to build a house in the next 12-18 months and your room looks great!
"Meters to Feets"? Now if only Brent would pay for an app for once instead of the freebie versions with incorrect grammar.

I had just assumed the app was made by the same silly people measuring in meters.

LMFAO. But hey...Roosevelt said we were the “Policemen of the world”...not the measuring stick (which ironically is a meter).
thats what my game room size is, will comfortably house 20 games, probably closer to thrty if you aren't so worried about getting the glass off.
Quoted from Micky:The rest of the world.....
To be fair Burma and Liberia also use the metric system...
OK so the full thread on building this I just put up here:
