The Avatar in that picture looks nothing like my Avatar. I'm confused.

I *think* SR did a design but Stern decided to use another one. There was some history on it hidden deep within the internet vaults, I can’t remeber where right now though!

Small but nice (I think )

For years I said only space for 3 pins and still I end up with 4 pins and a 5th stored in a friends living room. What’s wrong with us pinhoarders

I believe they were originally available direct from Steve’s site years ago, when he was SRDesigns and needed to make some cash on the side. I bought my set as prints 2yrs ago from a chap on UKVAC, which is more arcade stuff than pinball, and then got them framed by a friend nearby.

I haven’t seen a print, let alone a full set, for sale since.

They’re limited to 300. Mostly 15/300, except SM which is 16/300, but I believe there are some other none limited versions are about, no idea where or why, not that it bothers me either. I just find them quite quirky, a sort of nerdy eclectic if you like the technical CAD layers side of things, but I’d trade them all for an actual playable LE machine any day!

Also made 2 AFM playfields into wall lights, was aiming for ‘subtle backlit’ as the games are bright enough as it is

Try joy carpet neon on amazon.

You know for breakshot being so "Rare" it sure does end up in a lot of peoples collections... I love my breakshot and while it's still not 100% working, I've finally gotten it much, much better. Just such a fun single or multiplayer game, as you can steal the other persons multiball. Just love the flow of it also. Simple game, but really elegant in its design and I love the theme and art.

Or just keep buying pinball machines and stay living with your parents until you're forty or so. (Not a recommendation.)

Buy a condo close to the hipsters area...less, if any maintenance, plus you can turn into an income generating rental later.

Saving money for a house, but spending $25k on pinballs! Haha!!! Love this hobby....

Sorry to side rail thread but curious, are any of these game rooms in a condo or apartment? Seems like Pinball and the noises it makes would you would have to have some Really nice neighbors living above/below/aside from you? I remember bringing one into a hotel and setting it up for giggles after a pin show and that did not last long with all the calls. lol Just curious if many of these are shared dwelling arcades.

I live in a 3rd floor apt (top floor) and this is a major concern for me. My apartment is next to an outside hall so the only people who can hear my games are the neighbors directly below me. Pinball machines are inherently loud, and some machines are louder than others. My neighbors once complained that they could hear thumping. It’s the mechanical clicking and clanking of the solenoids and ball which appear to be bothersome, as opposed to the music or callouts. So I played my games when they were at work to avoid bothering them.

But it's nice to have the freedom to play whenever you want. I took a few steps to reduce the noise such as buying large carpet pads and area rugs to go over the existing carpet, placing the feet on anti-vibration pads, keeping the volume relatively low, and turning off shaker motors.

After I did that a new neighbor moved in below me and I asked him if my machines bothered him and he said no. That apartment is now empty so I went in myself and listened while a friend played my machines. You can barely hear them. The sounds are very muffled and are approximately as loud as a car passing by on the street 100 feet away. If my neighbors have the tv on, or the air conditioning, or are just talking, the pinball sounds would just fade into the background and wouldn't be noticeable at all.

Just be sure to have enough established credit to get a home loan. They like rental history because it proves that one is reliable with monthly payments. It was difficult when we tried to get a mortgage because while we were renting my name wasn't showing up on the bills, so they were scrambling trying to get more credit info for me so they could approve the loan. My credit cards weren't enough.

You've got some awesome parents! one, for letting you stay rent free, and two, giving you room for Pins... Although, I would suspect that they can play them too...

Yeah my parents are pretty cool. I work as a truck driver so im not home much during the day as i work about 50-60 hours which will be going up to 70-80 soon. The pins dont get played much and the only rules they ask is that the volume and shakers
get turned down low and not to play in the middle of the night. In exchange i help them with any bills whenever they ask.

Mine is 10x20. Here’s a couple of pics of how I’ve found most efficient use of space for the stuff I have. Note: I switched the bubble hockey and arcades when I got my fourth pinball to change it up a little.

I'm a super newbie to arcade games but, are those cabs smaller than a normal arcade? One of those would be perfect in my very tight game room. Are they originally like that or is it something I can order off the internet?

They are the smaller “cabaret” size. These were part of a series of re-releases by Namco. The current version manufactured and available is called PacMan’s Arcade Party with 13 games. I’ve seen it at Sam’s Club for $2500. Sold in regular and cabaret sized cabinets. The thing I like about these arcade are that they have the original game codes.

For size reference point, the three arcades lined up fit in roughly the same footprint space of one pinball machine.

Yeah, this just went up so not certain I'm comfortable with the proximity of F14. I'm looking to sell it soon so that'll take care of that issue. Well, until something else pops up.
