Quoted from SNES:I do but it is one of those dead end into a wall kind of setups. Also includes a 90 degree turn. It would be almost impossible to get games down there. I can convince friends to help out with three steps, but I’d probably lose friends trying to get games into my basement haha
Been there, done that
Quoted from AndHart120:I still have some games and seating furniture to add but here is what mine looks like that I have been working on for the past 5+ months. Diner theme!
Nice! Now you just need a Diner pin!
I've posted some pics elsewhere of machines, but I believe none in this thread. Here's a
quick video that a Friend sent me of last Saturday's gathering that he shot before the party
got going. There's more machines that I really would like to have set up, but at the present
there's no more comfortable space for any others..
And buy the way, the gathering went well.. (T)
Quoted from DUFUS:New ceiling decor added.
growing up, my old brother had posters hung from his ceiling like that. Was awesome until one night he saw the spiders coming down from them. Apparently it makes a great place to nest.
Quoted from ChiPin1978:Is that led lighting around the ceiling? If so, did you hardwire it?
Yes that is a 70’ long led RGB color changing tape strip in an aluminum channel with transparent white covers. If by hardwired you mean wired to a light switch? No, its just plugged into the wall on the other side of the basement in a closet. They are currently controlled by a remote but I have a Bluetooth controller coming in the mail soon.
Quoted from sunnRAT:Nice! Now you just need a Diner pin!
That’s an awesome pin! I have a TNA on order though so that’s out for now at least!
Quoted from MustangPaul:You bet. If I was the slightest worried about it I never would have done this.
Your room is awesome. More pics please!!
Everything minus the backbox lights on BTTF is running awesome. Ran out of room and had to move the arcades to the garage. Still super jealous of the insane collections and themed spaces you guys have, but I'd say its an improvement over having just a Waterworld a year ago haha.
Quoted from AndHart120:I still have some games and seating furniture to add but here is what mine looks like that I have been working on for the past 5+ months. Diner theme!
One of my new faves! Love the swinging door too!

I love seeing pics of your games room setup. It is amazing! Everything about it looks so cool.
Even your stairs leading down look great!
You have given me some ideas for when i get around to doing up my games room!

The lights look great. Did you have to use a power Amplifier for that long of a run?
Quoted from MacJedi:Your place is seriously cool, Paul!! Party at Paul's place!!
Thanks, I also have a Big Buck Hunter 2 shooter arcade game, a sit down Daytona driving and a 6 ft bar down there. It's a mess right now cuz I'm repainting the walls.
Quoted from Micky:I love seeing pics of your games room setup. It is amazing! Everything about it looks so cool.

The lit pf's on the walls and ceiling really make the room pop. Besides black lights on the ceiling and the ceiling light fixtures I have a 20 inch black light florescent fixture on the underside of each game to light up the carpet which makes a BIG difference lighting the carpet. If ya need any advise feel free to pm me.
Quoted from Lawnboy:The lights look great. Did you have to use a power Amplifier for that long of a run?
No it’s one continuous roll with a power supply at the end. Found them on eBay.

Quoted from Pahuffman:Do you have TWO Congos?
I wish! I do want two NBA FastBreaks to hook to each other. but no. Just 1 Congo. It is a beauty of a Congo, tho. I was just in the midst of moving things around When I get around to cleaning up, I’ll take a picture of the other side of the room, too
Quoted from MustangPaul:Here's a few more.
Holy Snap!!! That place is crazy. Playfields on the wall that light and that carpet is ridiculous. Thanks for the extra pics. That's my favorite room so far.

Thanks. When people first see it they just stand at the bottom of the steps and look around with their mouths open. I have to tell them to go play. The lit pf's and stuff on the ceiling is what really throws um. I wish you could see it in person, pictures just don't do it justice. I used to know a couple of Bonneville racers in Grass Valley many years ago.
This is my favorite thread on here. Great game rooms!
I'll add mine since I finally got my first pin.
2 person electronic basketball, rebound shuffleboard, Ceiling mount TV with Wii that I can rotate around the basement, Comet Pinball, a small kids car pinball and my weight room set up for arm wrestling
Quoted from Parkshow30:and my weight room set up for arm wrestling
I'm in for a challenge, and
btw, I think I could get into playing that Rebound Shuffle..
This may get some eye rolls but...
Seeing all the great rooms that are here, and with my obsessive need for planning our pending basement addition, have any of you ever made a digital mock up of your room with the machines for placement and layout ideas? Say a scale drawing or some sort of interior planning software? Was just curious if anyone had used anything. I am looking for something really simple to use. Autodesk makes a program that is free for personal use homestyler but it looks to be a little too intricate for what I am looking for.
Any ideas?

Pretty sure there is multiple posts in these 200 plus pages where people have mocked up their game rooms for builds. Won't get any eye rolls at all! That's just good planning.

Yep. I’ve used Google Sketchup a few times over the years.
I remember a gameroom build thread a couple of years ago that was all laid out with CAD or similar software.

Floorplanner.com they even have pinball machines and arcades in there. It’s free.

I used Chief Architect for my plans. The first page in my game room thread has some images and a floor plan.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/game-room-in-hell-a-multi-year-project
It even lets you do a 3D walk through
Note that these are now out-of-date for my game room and I need to update them. I took over another section of my basement for "the arcade" for pinball and that room is now finished. The rest of the basement remodeling starts soon, so I need to adjust my plans and do another virtual walk through before I start.
I am using Chief Architect Home Designer Pro 2012. I have the entire house drawn in there, this was originally done for a kitchen remodel. I have been using it to sketch out a possible game room in my current office.
I have another drawing I have been slowly working on for a 2000 sq ft "idealized" or "fantasy" game room. This would be the template of what I would like to do with a dedicated space if I ever get one. I am using all of the ideas from this thread for this. It still needs a lot of work, but the basics are there now. I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate a nice bar in there where the cabinets are for the next step. King BW - yours is a lot like mine. I like the bar setup! That is a good inspiration for me. Did you basically build that up on your own from the cabinets and countertops?

I made a rough scale of my game room in Excel. The pieces are then imported as pictures so that they can be moved and rotated as needed.
Quoted from Mopar:I'm in for a challenge, and

Very cool armwrestling challenge machine you have there!
The rebound shuffleboard was the most frequently played game I have until I got the Comet. I really enjoy it and have been considering getting the bowling pins set for it
Quoted from AlexSMendes:And you got an awesome first pin. Comet is so much fun and definitely a keeper! Now get rid of all the other stuff and replace it with more pinball machines!
We love it! We are big Disneyworld fans, we have annual passes and go often so a theme park pin was a perfect fit for our family.
I did some measuring and figured we could fit 3 pins in with some rearranging. The kids car pinball is going soon, I was just keeping it through today actually as it was my oldest girls 5th birthday party and I wanted something the little ones could play. My daughter only likes the Comet now and isn't interested in the kids one.
When I'm done with armwrestling and weightlifting that area will be turned into an arcade area as well but hopefully that won't be for awhile still.
Quoted from jidorman:Why so few pins though?
If you look in the corner of that drawing it's dated October 2001 which would have been the latest revision at that time. It totaled 56 pins. Since then I've crammed in about another twenty. Who needs windows, right?
