I already have a 30x40 pole barn but it is full of other stuff, not insulated and only has 15 amps of power. I would like to either build another 30x40 but with a higher garage door so I can fit the Ambulance and Deuce inside then take the current barn and convert it to arcade... or build new building as arcade. I don't know what I want to do yet. According to county I am maxed out for barn size given my plot size. But they keep telling me to submit what I want to do and they can file a variance for it.

What I really want to do is 2 53' containers spaced about 30' apart then build a roof between them and store vehicles and things there but there is a huge NO CONTAINERS law that went in to place a few years back so that is a no go.

We will see what the future holds. I am in no rush to get this done.

UFC fight tonight. GEorge St-Pierre. Our home town guy!

Any pictures of exterior? Schematic of the interior of the gameroom? It is obviously a very special place. Congrats and glad to see it being used!

Finally finished my mini Pinball space. All that work was to effectively create a single additional spot to bring my capacity from 2 to 3 pins .

We developed our basement a few years ago and it was actually an enjoyable project. We left the template as it was from the builder without any major changes to mechanical room or bathroom (not shown). We tiled the bathroom and put in a shower. Also around the corner is a little office area with Avatar.

We installed a wet bar and a kegerator so we have draft beer on tap. There is a local brewery not far from my office so I am able to pick up various kegs on a days notice. Really nice for parties with beer just flowing. Hardwood in the bar area, carpet throughout the rest. There is Dri-cor throughout the basement which raises the floor a bit but keeps it a tad warmer and also safe from moisture. I had a water tank blow in the mechanical room and it would have been a disaster if not for the dri-cor.

Have a little poker table which has seen a few good nights (and a few bad!). The cabinet was custom built in with my electronics down below such as receiver, xbox etc. Cat 5 was run throughout the basement and speaker wires also run. I think most basements now have a home theatre setup of some sort. We went a 106" screen, totem sttaf speakers in a 5.1 setup with a velodyne optimum 12" sub - very nice.

The side wall is home to the pins. I never thought I'd have more than 4... now 6 and I've had to shuffle Avatar into the end office. I had to part with ToM to make room for Star Wars. Stand up arcade in the back is Bubble Bobble - all time favourite. (Not an emulator).

Total finished space added about 900 square feet. I don't think I have any regrets with the design (going on 5 years now) except for more space in general would have been nice Oh, exercise bike was an after thought but needed due to having beer on tap in your house. haha.

My excersize bike became a sweater rack...so I removed it. No regrets.

A few pics of my basement, theater room, gameroom/bar.
Did all the wood work in the theater room myself, every game was bought nonworking.

    2. Killer Instict 1/2 on a switcher

Still have 2 other 4 player Konami cabs in need to figure out what to do with. And a few project games I need to finish
Sadly my only pin is a Mr and Mrs PAC that I'm trying to get working but I'm hoping to trade a game or 2 for another pin.

Total cost between the theater, pool table, games is $7200 after flipping some games to pay for stuff.

I guess he sold all his pins to pay for the rest of it.

    #9563 6 years ago

Sadly I only have 1 pin and it's in my friends garage until we have time to get it working. I had a beautiful Pharoh but like an idiot I sold it because I couldn't get it working 100% and I was more into vids.

Hoping to add a pin or 2 over the next month.

    Very nice set up.
Is that possibly an A.E. Schmitt Pool Table?

    #9566 6 years ago

American Heritage table absolutely beautiful Craigslist score for $500+$500 to refelt it. Orginal list price on it was $8995 so it was a great buy but rarely gets played on and takes up so much space.

    Ha that's what I have, 7ft. What's yours? Looks like an 8ft.

    IMGA0014 (resized).JPGIMGA0014 (resized).JPG

    #9568 6 years ago

It's an 8ft table and I would like to get rid of it to make room for more games but my wife won't let me turn downstairs into a full blown arcade because it looks classier as a game room. Damn her.... but my 18yr son's room is on the wall next to the pool table and I keep telling him not to piss me off or I'll kick him out and knock the wall out and have another 12ftx20ft area for games!

I did all the wood work myself using a $100 entertainment center from offer up that I cut the top off of. Used the towers on the side of the 120in screen and made the lower bench and top connecting them. Was able to reuse the top from the entertainment center and make towers to go behind the concession stand so everything matches.

The concession stand was Craigslist $100 that I painted and did some trim work on. The cash register was $20 from Craigslist that I spent way to much time cleaning/painting. The ticket booth going down the stairs is a old hollow core door that I trimmed out and made a window for and think it came out pretty good.

Thought about starting a thread about it all but with my lack of pins I don't feel like I really belong here enough for that. Lol

    #9569 6 years ago

Pinball machines or not, that gameroom and movie room looks fantastic.

I'm the type of person who LOVES movies, but rarely go to the theatres anymore. Too expensive and I can just buy the blu ray when it comes out at a cheaper price than buying a movie ticket(s). Besides, I look forward to "New Release Tuesdays" and the enjoyment of watching the movie for the first time on the projection screen

    #9570 6 years ago

I incorporated a theater in my basement remodel too, 109" screen and Klipsch surround speakers up in the ceiling. The wood work on some of these home theaters is awesome. I kept it open floor plan and clean and simple, works for me...

Sorry I could not accommodate everyone's candy preference. All those boxes are empty and glued on the stand. With 4 kids I have to keep all the real candy locked in the cabinet drawers.

    Well, here's my little Dancave.

Started out with a Black Rose, than there came my Revenge from Mars.
The Arcade Cabinet moved in third and the Firepower II, I won at a tombola.

I had to move machines around the room three times in one year, but at the present setup, I recognised there's at space for at least one more Pinballtable.

My poor husband doesn't know yet, but he'll see early enough.

My current arcade in my basement. Been planning on finishing the space in the next year or so before i go crazy bringing in any more games, since its going to be a major pain in the ass to work down there if I've got too many in the way. Hoping to bring in another 5-10 machines once completed. I've already got 2 project games waiting to come in from the garage.

I picked up the Zaxxon for $250, and as we were bringing it home I could hear money sloshing around inside. We looked in the coin buckets and there was nothing... then we unbolted a wooden platform where all the guts of the game rest and there was a dead space beneath with over $60 in quarters! Score!
